My Grandparents lived in Newport and they took us there a handful of different times when I was a kid. I remember this story and it scared me as a kid. My husband and I went there the other day and a volunteer said they arent allowed to show that video anymore. Thanks for posting this! It's fun to see it again!

I grew up in troutdale Oregon, it's a 2 hour drive from Newport. I have been to that lighthouse, and the atmosphere in that lighthouse was very heavy and I had the feeling that something demonic was in that lighthouse.

This is literally a fictionally story. This was a short story written by Lischen Miller called The Haunted Light at Newport by the Sea. It was said to have been inspired to save this lighthouse from demolition due to it being out of commission. A quote from an article states, "The lighthouse was decommissioned just three years after it was built. It fell into disrepair and was nearly forgotten until a magazine writer gave it new life more than 20 years later." The writer herself says its fictional. I've been to this lighthouse as a scared kid and didn't get any weird or scary vibes.
