Congratulations.. and that hike back down looks terrifying, I love to hike and would love to attempt to do the Appalachian trail, but I get out of breath pretty quickly. So a lot of it is way out of my comfort level. My husband and I hiked up to Mt Leconte a few years ago. that was a challenge for me but we did it and I felt accomplished with that. And we got greeted with a beautiful rainbow and view of the Smokies . So we like to travel to some of the towns on the trail and try to get out on the trails and experience the trail that way. Loved following your journey ❤
Hey Chuck, Please continue to do follow ups. Follow ups on your feelings after the hike….regrets….things you’d do differently, things about the trail you miss….etc
Congratulations on this great achievement Bandit! Have enjoyed your videos and greatly appreciate the effort you have put in to share these regularly and bring us along. Thank you so very much.
What an adventure! Feeling blessed to have followed your your hike! You provided nightly entertainment and we are already missing it. Enjoyed the follow up video. God bless you and your family.
I watched and commented on your first video as your journey started, and amazingly, watched you finish it in person. The trail is so long, yet so small. Congrats again! It was great meeting you on top of Katahdin and watching you finish! 🤘🕓
Glad to see you back home and out on the golf course. It was amazing amazing journey Thanks for sharing it with the 3,200+ followers. Bar Harbor is a great town. A bit touristy, but great. Welcome home!
Enjoyed following you along your journey and glad you made it to Momma K and back. Just wondering, how much training and prep work did you do before you started? After a month of hiking at least five miles a day on flat terrain I did some New England Trail stuff. 1700 ft climb in around 4 miles. Nothing like what you guys did many times. My ankles were not loving it and my calves are real sore today. You must have strengthened yourself up before you started. You sure as heck were battle tested and ready especially in the latter parts of your journey. Great work! The thrill of a lifetime I’m sure.
Hahah. Thanks. Getting sore is part of the journey. I spent nearly two years training, planning, and preparing. I lost 40 lbs training before I ever started. What you’re doing is exactly what you need to do to prepare yourself. I put out a video early on explaining what I did to prepare. It’s out there on my channel.
Thank you for the update, Chuck! Good to see you. My husband and i watched you every night. Now we need to find something else to watch!!! So great that you made this happen. You are such an inspiration!!! Thanks again for bringing us along for the adventure!!
Chuck, like many commenters on this post, I have missed the daily videos tremendously. I can't believe how addicted to them I had become. You became my RU-vid friend from the very beginning. Watched every posting and have been rewatching them since you finished. I'm not sure that you realized the impact that you would make on people when you started but rest assured that you did. Your positive attitude, obvious faith, and sincerity were so easy to recognize. Thanks to your wife and boys for letting us share you with them. I am looking forward to future videos and following your new journeys. God bless you!
Thanks for the kind words and thank you for following us. I never dreamed that so many would follow along. Thanks also for recognizing that I couldn’t have done this without the support of my faith and family🙏🏻🙏🏻
Bandit, once again, I can't thank you enough for sharing your journey with us. It almost feels as if we have been friends friends for a long time. Your personality is very welcoming, and even in the heat of your battle, your words have always been positive and encouraging. Your journey will be a story you can tell to generations. And I'm hoping your friendship with Bluegrass play last the rest of your life. I'm sure it will. If you're ever in North Georgia again, I'd love to buy you a meal and to get to know you better. I Can't wait to see more of your Journeys. Peace to you and your family, stay safe, and keep heading north.
Congratulations, Chuck, the Bandit. 😊 What an epic journey and an accomplishment. Thank you for taking us along and sharing your experience with us. Your videos are awesome, your personality is magnanimous, and your life lessons are worthy for sharing with all. I love your emotion towards the end of the journey, and it was exciting to see you stand on the Katahdin sign. Peace to you, bluegrass, and your families. I'm looking forward to seeing a recap video and, hopefully, meeting you somewhere in the southeast in the future. Take care and stay safe.
A big THANK YOU for allowing me to follow you on your once in a lifetime journey. I looked forward to the videos produced by you and Bluegrass. I watched them on a regular basis and followed you since the beginning. Not only did you document the beauty of the trail, you also demonstrated how we can overcome our obstacles (ankles, knees, feet) and accomplish anything we put our mind to. It was so encouraging . I am sure your family is happy that you are home safe and sound. Take the time needed to heal and regroup and reconnect with your family. I look forward to following your future videos. God bless.
Take care of that knee. The only other person I know to complete the AT was 63 and had to have a knee replacement when he finished. Hopefully yours is nothing like that. I'm really looking forward to the gear review.
Yeah, thank goodness!! Let me know when you’re ready to take a hike. I’m thinking about doing the end of days hike on the foothills trail at the end of the year. Ramdino gets it together. I’ve hiked the trail before, but it’s a great hike. Look it up.
Congratulations 🎊 👏!! Are you still keeping in touch with bluegrass ? Or any plans to go visit him in Kentucky? Again great job ! That's one heck of an accomplishment 👏 !!! 😊
Thank you so much for taking us along on your AT journey ❤️ And thank you for another video. I still have my notifications on in case you post more!!!! ❤❤❤
