G’day Dave, Doing a great job there someone has to do it. By the way did you see the recent result from Harrisburg Mecum. Check out Lot F251. 1966 Ford Galaxie 7 Litre 428 with a 4 speed 90,000 original miles Unrestored With the original family till 2022 Build for a executive of Alcoa Sold for $ 41,250 which in my opinion is a fair bit below what I was expecting. Would be interested in your opinion. Cheers Louis Kats from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺👍

This car deserves a body off restoration. Trim looks good and it appears you have all the parts. It’s a unicorn find. Keep posting this baby. I am doing a body on restro on a 67 XL Convert same color one owner car. All the XL parts are hard to find and very expensive. Not to mention you have a R code. Mikes Classic Cars is a good source for Galaxies. He makes a nice trunk mat and has hard to find stuff.

Same color combo as my 63. I used to use microfiber towels but now I use an Adam's Polish ultra plush towel (even better) and that Chemical Guys ceramic spray. My car has a whole bunch of tiny chips, mostly on the hood and I plan on trying out that Dr. Colorchip stuff at some point. Will probably make a video about it. I also got one of those precise dot pen things with a well on it, that's supposed to work really well for tiny touch ups.

@Bbbbad724 Месяц назад
@@barrycuda3769 I had a black 66 with black interior, a 390 4V car with the first C6 which functionally were just like the FX and MX with the “ green dot “ range. If you took off in D it took off in 2nd. In green dot it took off in low and went to 2nd and high. The difference if I remember is that kickdown can go down to low with it and not having to pull the lever down. The MX uses a lot less power to run than the C6 The FX/ MX have a Ravigneax planetary gear set, the C6 is a Simpson Gear that uses a lot more power. The C4 2 bander is more efficient and is very strong when built right. A manual is best.

Meticulous attention to detail to get any car running. Imagine why people without your tuning skills try to get a complex engine running. I had a budget rebuild done on a 1976 460 Ranchero & it was a nightmare getting the thing running smoothly.

My first car was a 66 Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop like this one. I resto modded it around 1977 and installed a 351C I got from a 70 Mach 1, added a bigger cam, 4:10 gears, black 5 spoke rims from a 78 Camaro with their trim rings using adapters, and red Ford center caps that I harvested from some hub caps. It was painted vintage burgundy and had a red interior. Visually it looked a lot like Leno's 7 Litre Galaxie. Took that car everywhere and prior to the 4:10's used to strap a boat to the roof and take it to the lake camping driving down long gravel roads. Sold it to my brother around 1982 and he eventually wore it out and sold it. I'm sure it had at least 175,000 miles on it. One of my favorite Cars I have ever owned to this day. I now have a driver quality 7 Litre Convertible that is mechanically very good but needs paint and body work. It is also vintage burgundy with a black interior. Love the look of these cars and in the day the ride quality was second to none. Oh and if I owned the one in this video I would drive it regularly, just not down gravel roads!

I knew it would both start & run, being what it is, especially the vintage of it! For the drivetrain, that’s the best one Ford ever had! Thanks for keeping it original! Especially Amen to the 427 cubic inch engine-( with the dual 4 barrel carburetors being the “Automotive Icing on the Cake!”) along with the manual 4 speed tranny, instead of an automatic! The automatics are good, but my personal preference is t 4 speed manual shifting standard transmissions! Definitely a “Keeper Car!”
