Taking the journey all around the spectrum. Auto repair, Car Audio, Auto shows, go fast parts, and all that fun stuff. The goal is hopefully some of this content helps answer some questions and gives a new perspective for auto enthusiasts. All will be done with a budget in mine.
I know this has nothing to do with this video specifically but on one of your other videos where you install your electric fan I commented on what part number your lower rad hose was, any chance you got that info?
If you’re ever looking for some information on a coil to plug conversion with a marine intake or ramjet intake on these trucks, I just got one finished,
As far as the meter goes I didn’t have access to one 😢. I did meet a guy about a month ago that has one. Was gonna let them break in and ask him how much he wants to meter. I made 1/4 mile passes with the box. Plan on doing it without the box this winter. Box spec Net Vol Per Sub: 2.24 ft3 Total Net Volume: 4.48 ft3 Gross Volume: 7.85 ft3 Box Tuning: 33.10 hz Port Area: 65.00 In2 Port Volume: 1.41 ft3 Port Area Per Foot/Liter: 14.50 In2 Est Bandwidth: 24.83 hz - 66.20 hz Subsonic Filter: 24.83 hz LPF: 66.20 hz
@RCSAutoworld- What Db did the Skar VXFs do, & @ what freq.? How was it metered, like placement of the SPL meter, & what windows or doors were opened or closed? What is the Net cu. Ft., port area, & tune of that enclosure? Looks nice, you did a really good job. That amp, & both sets of subwoofer's are Beast's! What actual impedance are those D4 coils on the Skar VXF 12s? Great video. Oh, & you probably are going to drop it in another future video, but did you happen to run the 1/4 mile without the subwoofers, enclosure, & amplifier= 215 Lbs. Lighter?
Thanks for the video! I'm trying to install some custom buttons on my steering wheel and this gave me a good idea of how to do that. But I might use one of those line things that companies use for employee badges. Forgot what they are called, but they also extend and retract the line
Do you happen to know the part number off the lower rad hose? I’ve done the same fan conversion and my lower rad hose kinks with the sharp bend it needs to make
Yes sir. Only thing is I got it from Autozone and it’s an Autozone brand part. The first one I believe I bought was part number E72088. Then I went back and got part number D71488. It’s still a little long in my opinion but works way better than the first one I bought.
What are the measurement distance from the radiator support to the bend ? & what is the measurement height on the bend? Ima use 2 pieces on each end just want the distance from radiator support to meet up with fans screw hole.
Good stuff. Honesty if I had to do it again I may have done that as well. I’ll look through these comments on The video. A guy asked me and I responded with measurements. I just don’t remember if the top of my head.
@@RCSmith90 thanks lmk seems like the distance is 2 inches or more from radiator support to fans, and the bend height is 2 inches. If you can assure me measurements appreciate it
U can also go to a junkyard and pull a 78mm 5.3 lm7 off a 2001 Tahoe and put it on a vortec😁😁 The only thing u would technically have to do is move the throttle linkage and tune
What size socket is the nut, i had an 1" laying around but was to small. Im catching alot of 32mm around the web. Dont wanna run into the wrong size and have to go back and forth. Great work by the way. Ill be going at this after work today.
@@benjaminjimenez6375 I got a 3 piece kit off line. It has a block off plate for where the EGR valve itself goes. And 2 stubby bolts that plug the intake where the EGR tube goes and plugs the hole in the driver exhaust manifold where the tube goes. Or get headers 😂😂😂
When u putting the cpp control arms on bro ? And when u do will u please do a before and after video of how much it brings the wheels in . There is no videos on RU-vid showing anything about the CPP control arms for our trucks
@@obslife1985 meeting up with a realtor that’s renting garage space sometime next month. Been focusing on finding space to do the work. They have been cracking down where I live. I’m in a row home with no land and moving is happening any time soon. Once that spot is secured ITS GO TIME!!
@@RCSmith90 awesome bro !!! Hope u make a detail video of it bro . There is no videos on this setup on our c1500s and I bet it will bring u some views . But a before and after setup video would be very informative. Love the videos bro and I hope u get that shop space bro
I couldn’t remember do I rewatch it and had to listen to myself talk wit the phone to my ear. I did 40lb then I see after the 40 I went a bit further to about 50 tops. Pretty much until there was no play back and forth.
@@TrippyWoodStock it’s actually the injectors that came factory on the intakes off of the Mercruiser 5.0s and 5.7. Part 1 and part 2 of the intake is on the channel. ru-vid.com/group/PLKt5SMYa9FupOxmzcmupTOEb1HCecC6E0&si=U844bngowA1J_12e
Excellent vid bro, same issue with 96 Silverado, freaked out thinking it was an axle replacement but research some and realized it might only be a pin hole. Gonna, check it throughly today and assess rust damage, thank you for taking the time to make the video. I was beginning to compile a solution in my head similar to yours, Bravo Sir 🎉
That guy who wants to do a dod/afm delete let him know he need a new cam ls7 lifters and springs that's it there might be some ports on the valley cover he may need to block but it's not a hard job. Also head studs, after that a tune for E85 and he's lookin at a good power jump depending on the cam size and tuner.
See that what I caught myself telling him off camera 😂😂. That’s why I typed in the video that it’s hard to give stock answers to people and hold back on performance suggestions. He was ok with doing everything you said except for the E85 tune. He didn’t want to go that far. I would do exactly what you said personally.
Your right. They absolutely so. We talked more after and he said that’s what he had but the common wear points on those motors went on him. The rockers on the DOD cylinder broke and making other stuff go bad. He got it fixed back to factory spec and still runs the plug in. He wants to get the cam and rocker kit that replaces the weaker DOD parts. Crazy part is the GM dealer that fixed it when it broke told him he can run the plug in on with the DOD internals but had to drive normal and keep up on maintenance.
Impala wheels would look good on a GMT400. I had a good laugh with you about the hardest dirt on an old engine. Looks like you have an engine from a 4x4 from the oil filter sticking out the side. On my suburban I just went with the old SBC adapter to skip the leaky oil filter lines and use a longer filter. One other thing to fix on the vortec is the distributor play, getting it to .010, since you have the 0411 have you considered ls1 coils to get rid of the cap and rotor?
That dirt was insane!! Correct! It was out of a 4x4. I’m absolutely getting rid of those lines and doing what you did. I definitely thought about the LS coil swap as well. I have a bunch of mods waiting. I’ve been trying to secure a garage to have the workspace. Then it’s open season.
Love your channel, especially the OBS project. Small suggestion, it would be helpful if you could turn the music down just a bit when you're talking. Sometimes it's hard to hear. Can't wait to see that marine intake install on the OBS!
I have one of these bro . Been wanting to swap into my ride but got other intakes I wanna mess with too well see. This one flows really good I like that it looks like an lSX intake.
