Tastefully updated Pantera!!!! Looks basically stock, even though the engine and suspension have been upgraded significantly. Personally, I’d have put a Coyote engine in it. It would then have an engine as exotic as the car looks.
Love to hear such passion for such a passion fueled car. The wheel change with 11's on the rear looks magnificent and matches the proportions of the vehicle while adding even more muscularity. And it perfectly fills the wheel arch void - again, a perfect match with the proportions. Great video - enjoyed it immensely
Absolutely one of the most beautiful cars ever made - every angle is perfect. Yes a 288 looks more purposeful and a Countach is more striking, but the 308 will always be the caricature of an exotic car.
The Bruno Sacco SEC, is Timeless, in Every Way… How many of these modified SEC’s were built, and are their any Available? I had the pleasure of a 1991 SEC in Signal Red, w/ Palamino leather…a true blessing, that saved my life, when a errant driver got in my path, and the SEC was sadly totaled. I continue to hope, and search for another SEC, to Pamper, Upgrade a bit, and Enjoy for the Rest of my driving years… Thank you for Sharing your thoughts, praise, and the Upgrades on this particular AMG enhanced Mercedes. Benz SEC. PS: If you happen to come across an SEC, like this beauty, in need of a loving home, please drop me a note, Thanks much, Dennis
When I drive my Black 1986 Fiero GT, it's a driving experience. It gets a lot of looks, and people 40 and under always ask what it is. I can appreciate becoming engaged with going through the gears of the 4 speed manual transmission while creating the crackle of the exhaust when downshifting. The way the road feels inches below you as you carve the pavement feeling the feedback through the steering wheel. It won't throw you back hard. However, it loves to be thrown around a twisty road. Anyone who owns or owns one knows exactly what I mean. That old saying "don't knock it, till you try it" rings true for the Fiero.
This was the Porsche (Poor-Sha) I always wanted. And the 928 because it's a v8. 928 and 968 my faves. I didn't care for the 911. Don't care how fast they are or what they're worth lol Money is sh!+ to me haha 😂
Oddly I'm looking back at these due to owning a current Subaru BRZ, and wondering about these. Thanks for taking the time to share your ownership and driving experience.
@@lancehess2457 I know him because he is me :) I used to drive it a lot more when my folks lived in Albuquerque. I still drive it quite a bit but mostly on longer trips. The Pantera has nearly 200,000 miles on it now.
I ordered my 88 GT from the dealer way back in August of 1987. I picked it up in November of 1987. I still have it in my garage today. Looks great and runs like new.
I have been in lust for the Pantera ever since the car dealership I had a part time job at in high school got one on a trade in 1973. I drove it a few times and it was amazing. Only thing was it had the heaviest clutch I’ve ever used.
I hate modern overpriced boring looking cars with all their clap trap non-sense! Can't GM bring this car back again even if it's not under a Pontiac name anymore! Keep the same exact looks! It's beautiful looking the way it is in all it's 80's style glory! perhaps just upgrade the engine a little to a V6 with more power. Keep it a simple reliable engine though! The idea is elegant simplicity! Don't deck it out in such a way with all this modern tech so only the wealthy can afford one! The Every-Day commuting man needs a sweet affordable daily driver again they can be proud of and have some fun! Keep the dam screens out of it and just make it fun and simple! There's a huge market not being served right now of working class people that just want a fun reliable affordable awesome looking gasoline powered fun inspiring car that won't break the bank! Bring back the Fiero! I'd buy one in a heartbeat!
I had a grey market 1985 M635csi back in the late 90's. 286 HP and 400 lbs. lighter than the US M6 spec. Best, most fun and reliable car I ever owned, hands down. Sold it when I moved to a house without a garage (*cries*). I should have found a way to keep it, they have doubled in price. I had a good friend with a Porsche 911. He drove my car, turned around and sold the Porsche and bought an M635.
I’m guessing they added bigger brakes, that would justify the need for 17 inch wheels. But overall I agree with you, wheels look a bit too big for the car.
Good advice, being in shape is certainly important. But I think you missed the point of my comment. The heavy steering at low speeds impedes the car's nimbleness and ability to change direction quickly. That detracts from the fun factor at low speeds. Thanks for commenting and watching!
It looked like half the driving was done on the right-hand side of the white line... where all the rocks and glass and any other debris on the road gets blown. I guess the owner didn't mind.
If you look at the video, the car is not over the white line in most of the footage. Sure there are a couple of shots from the rear where the car went onto the shoulder. The car is positioned to the outside of the lane to get the best angle of it in the shot. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If you meant $10,000 (you put $1K) you're probably right. Looking back over the values on BaT they were going for more. So, fair enough. Thanks for watching and actually paying attention!
