When Dennis Demers decided he wanted a fun, lightweight vehicle that he could strap his mountain bikes to, he bought a wrecked 2002 Porsche Boxster. Months of work with his grinder and welder resulted in the crazy Kart featured here.
What a wild build! I hope we see more crazy Boxster builds in the future as people realize what an extraordinary chassis they are for the money (at least for now).
Crazy this popped up on my feed. I have been wanting to take on an exo car project and I have been thinking a boxter would be perfect donor for such a project. Around here you can find older ones for less than 10 k and you could probably make a good bit of that back parting it out.
Other popular car enthusiasts need to review and showcase this. This is amazing! Makes me want to go start stripping my near perfect 986 lol! I know I'd never be able to achieve that though!
How does this have so few views? This is such a neat build and video. BTW maybe just stick with a gopro for internal footage and run the dslr for audio separately and merge the slr audio to the gopro video so you don't ever have focus issues in car.
Thanks, glad you liked it. To be honest, this is the one and only time I've had a focusing issue with the Canon that I use. I prefer the video look of the mirrorless camera to the look of a GoPro.
@@Retromod Yeah the extra depth in lens and color is nice, I've become a fan of dual recording so I at least have some video that is salvageable as sometimes the focus shifts on the A7 I have or something catastrophic happens. What length of lens are you using for those internal shots? Curious now.
This is the only way I could drive one of those!!! Looks crazy fun. But I'd rather do a vette kart but still awesome!! Lot of work in that thing! Porsche and corvettes don't have a good history!! Lol they don't get along very well!
🛠🔩🏆👏👍 First, Retromod, ignore the naysayers and lazy bastards in the comments section who couldn't conceive of, much less build, a street-legal go cart like this. It looks cool, fun, and original. C'mon, everybody, he bought a wrecked Boxster to start with! Retrorod, when on the road you look like you are enjoying the fruition of your hundreds of hours put into this build. I have an old Mazda3 I'm thinking of making into a go cart. I found your video and was inspired!
