I have both percept 97 and Pure Aero 98, but I feel the percept has much more power than the PA with same string same tension (my coach said the same thing) which is against what they have been advertised: percept low power control racquet and PA suppose to be a power and spin racquet. the problem is, I like the PA 98 but my coach and friends said I played better with percept because my shot is more powerful and faster with it (I feel the same way) so I am wondering if I should sell the PA and get an extra percept. However, all the reviews said differently, this is why I am confused if my skill level is not enough to handle this racquet or the PA is indeed low powered (I’m a 4.0 - 4.5 player) thanks
I read somewhere in the comments that out of these 3 you prefer the Court ff 3 right? But I do hear you mention quite a lot of "cons". Above all the one that it feels like a brick (compared to the speed). The fact that you said out of these three you prefer this one makes me want to ask you what shoe do you wear yourself and what is your favorite shoe in general?
How would you compare pairing gut with ALU rough vs 4G rough? I stick with 4G just cause of longevity but havent played with gut/alu enough times to notice a significant difference in performance vs 4G rough cross
Honestly I appreciate an objective review from someone who didn't love the racquet than a gushing review from someone who only ever plays with yonex 100's or something. Thanks for this review!
I guess Luca has Italian relatives. He is always speaking with his right hand 🙂. Great review Luca . You are always the first guy I look for , when I am trying to get infos about tennis gear. All the best
Luca, quick question, what grip do you use? what grip do you find more confortable? When I started in tennis I used the eastern grip, Now that I play more i use semi western but I developed Tennis elbow, so I'm not sure but could the grip technique affect to the comfort? or in this case recover my elbow?
Hey Luca how would you compare this Boom Pro vs VCore 95 ?! I'm demoing right now, and even if I love the feeling of my Gravity, the VCore is producing such an HEAVY ball on clay !!!
It's a good question. The Boom Pro feels more traditionally controlled and the Vcore more like a racket you need to use spin to control. It's a really good combination of Gravity and Vcore so may be the perfect racket for you!
Good question; the Speed has better feel but both have excellent power/control/spin it's just a question of whether you want something more forgiving in the Speed or quicker (the Ezone).
I’ve started with Radical Microgell MP then to d3o pro, Graphene Pro, now Graphene XT pro with CAP grommet for the almost 10 years but needed more consistent power, as I’m getting older. I tried the 2023 version & felt familiar (control & volley), but still lacks the power when I tried to flatten the ball. I use Völkl Cyclone 16L 48/45 lbs.
Hey Luca - I've had a question about natural gut hybrids for awhile now. Can you continue to play with them after the poly crosses go dead? How much of a drop off is there after say 10 hours or so? Thanks so much for the great content.
Hey, Luca! Super fan of your content. Thank you and keep it up, mate. One quick "interesting" question 😉 Have you tried Wilson Pro Staff 6.1 100 V13 (Eurostaff)? What grade would you give it? I love it and feel like it plays quite like a Blade, but would love to get your take on it. Farewell!
Interesting... I used Gravity Pro, Tour, and MP but my elbow could not handle them. Wilson Clash is definitely elbow friendly. I am so surpised that you put Gravity MP in the same level as Clash. I generally use multifilament strings due to my weak elbow..
Ezone 100 should be so much higher. I tried 15 rackets while having tennis elbow type problems. Clash 105 hurt the elbow just bouncing the ball on the ground with the racket. Ezone 100 SL with the right string….comfortable to the max. This is what I finally purchased.
Great video! Having to move into a more supportive shoe because of my knee, so this was helpful. Also looking at the Babolat Propulse Fury 3. Tried it? Thoughts?
i don’t know about this. As a 51 year old 3.5 player with a one handed backhand, I enjoy the larger sweet spot of a 100 size racket, and the I like a softer feel. What you call firm I call harsh. What you call muted, i call soft. I’ll stick with my vcore 100.
Hope you have a speedy recovery from injury. I find the Head Boom MP as comfortable as the Clash 100 even though it's less pillowy. No vibrations. Love it.
Could you do a review of the blade 100 v9, seems to be lots of info about the 98 but not much info on the 100. Would the 100 be a good intermediate racket? Thanks
Any recommendations for an intermediate control racket? Is the Wilson blade 100 any good? I’ve heard lots of good things about the 98 but not much info on the 100. Thanks
Radical higher than vcore 98? lol i played radical now play with vcore 98 its tier one comfort racquet, dumped, stabile, with hybrid string is like head speed feeling
