Aww, these are just like the deer that visit my backyard who I feed. The difference is that the deer that visit my backyard do not let me pet them, or let anyone pet them for that matter.
Hi my friend! That is so cool!!! It took me 1 1/2 years to pet my first one....Elly. She was the one that kept getting closer and closer to me until, one day, she walk right up by me for a snack. I slowly reached out....very nervously....and just started petting her! the others would see this and got more comfortable around me. I think they think I am part animal. LOL Talk to them every day. They'll learn your voice and learn to trust you. Find the brave ones, coax them up.......and you'll be amazed! :-)))))))))))
I don't feed my deer, but we spend a lot of time around each other..some feel comfortable coming up to me and being physically touched, but after being with deer over 40 years, learning their language, their ways, & how they prefer to relate, the level of non verbal communication "fluency' between us has created an amazing connection..a "soft look" from 1-100 feet away is like how we feel a hug..just different expression of feelings shared..facilitating peace, and when they walk up & bed down @ my feet..take a rest, ruminate, or fall deep asleep...that's beyond petting! ..but to pet their winter parka coat on a snowy day..priceless !🥰

Hi Fly. What an awesome video. Your gang looks great. I'm having a good time with my gang, too. I haven't been able to convince any of the others to take anything from my hand yet. It's still just Elly and her fawn Ruby. One new thing, though. Ruby allows me to give her a quick pet on her head. 🙂 It's amazing. Oh, the buck I mentioned a couple of months ago has stopped by a few times to grab an apple slice from me. Looking forward to your next video. And looking forward to the new fawns.

Here in Montreal, we had a similarly mild winter with a couple of sudden cold snaps. And just a few days ago we had a foot of snow dumped on us - but it's melting quickly. Roller coaster weather. Hi Marc! Sweetie's gang is huge. I can't imagine what it will be like later this summer when they start bringing the new fawns up. I'm gonna need a barn with a corn silo! LOL. Casper is loving that it's getting a bit warmer out now so she can go hunting. Crazy girl. OMG....a foot of snow this late! I hope it warms up quickly for you all! @@flyfish0822 - Thanks, Fly. Yes, it has already warmed up considerably - and getting warmer by the day. I think - no promises - but I believe we're done with winter. Gigs have been sparse this year but it is starting to pick up... we have a bunch of festivals to play through the summer, including a small road trip to headline a festival in New Brunswick in July. It should be a lot of fun. P.S. Maybe a video series of you actually building a corn silo. 🙂

Wow....those are some crazy sudden temperature changes such as 71 degrees to 24 degrees Fahrenheit in just a 24 hour period. Sweetie has been very prolific! She has created a large herd of offspring. All the sweet dear look so happy and in good health. You do a marvelous job of tending to all their sustenance and pleasure. And Casper at the end...such a happy cat. You're a good man, Flyfish!
Hi Marcia! Our temps were all over the place this winter! But overall, we got so lucky with little snow and milder temps........thank goodness! Sweetie is probably the oldest out here now and has a big gang. She always hangs back and lets all the others come up for snacks first. I try to sneak her snacks to her off to the side when the others are finished. Casper is gonna be so happy when it gets warm and stays warm so she can go back to being a wild and crazy girl! Hi Ray! There are so many deer now that they have to earn their name by being brave, or by something unusual about them. Yes, all the Daryl have middle names......according to us. LOL. Now days, Larry and the Daryl are babysitting for the 1 year old chicklets so there can be 20 to 30 turkeys in the yard at once. They are hilarious! Congrats to your son on his retirement. You two are our heroes!!!! :-))))))))))))))))))

Hi Michael! I WAS hibernating! I hafta protect my lilly white skin from the cold. LOL The does are just starting to show a bigger tummy now. they'll start having babies mid-May to first week of June. I probably wont see them until mid-June but hope to get some good videos of them. :-)))))
