Phillips was excellent as a youth player at Burnley. I always thought very highly of him and I thought VK was going to give him a chance in the championship but it wasn't to be. He'd shown on several loan moves that the was better than league one. I hope Preston do get him. Be really happy for the lad.
The blades apparently have deals in place to sign Shackleton and Mccallum on free's as well as Peterborough owner and the telegraph saying we're close to signing Burrows also seen where Michael Cooper is top of our list for keeper's, Would love to fetch in Cooper
hmmm , do every club thats ever been in the league ever with a combined total of every person thru the gate ever. To make it easier you can discount cup attendences.Shouldnt be too difficult , every home league gate ever combined since formation , when ever they played in the top 4 divisions , for every team .
Interesting insight into how football is going. Ridiculous wages and transfer fees adding to that, what used to be working man's game is now a corporate meeting place. How many people can now afford the entrance cost. I no longer put money in the big clubs pockets. I go to my local team. A better game with not the gamesmanship of the so called professionals.
The common thread with all of these clubs is that they're in decline/ had a poor season or seasons...given a bit of success the crowds will come back and there is potential to fill them out. I can remember Burnley in their darkest days getting gates of just over 2,000 in Division 4. Wolves on their 1st to 4th Division slide dipped to 2,000 gates. Sheff Utd in Division 4 got 40% capacity-about 12,000. Wigan and MK are the only two likely to have spare seats even in the top two Divisions.
You're comparison is unbalanced since when were clubs in div 4 when it existed attendances all round were lower and capacities were higher since it was pre all seater stadiums.
Stoke's home form has been so bad over the last couple of seasons that it's driven away a lot of fans, and the ground always looks half empty. Although, there were 28,000 there for the last game of the season. Big respect to Sunderland, though. To get regular attendances of over 40,000 is mindblowing, especially when you consider how poor the team has been over the past few seasons. Sheff. Wed is also very impressive.
Interesting fact is my club has sold more season tickets this summer since our last season in the premier league 2010/11 despite relegation to league one
