the clean vocals rule dude! Feels old school almost. what happened to this style of vocalizing in metal? Is the more emoy/posthardcorey style of clean vocals really all it's cracked up to be? I love how no one can agree on the genre. Is it thrash?death metal ? groove metal? someone said djent, but somehow that seems even more wrong of a description for it than thrash. which it obviously is not. if I know anything about thrash, it's that this album is probably best described by one of these other genres first, but shitting on music because of the genre is lame, and is the obsession of elitists and wannabes. so whatever.
TUNING (low to high): B Gb B E Ab Db Gb. I wish they mentioned this at the top! I'm new to Vogg's awesomeness and don't have an 7-string guitar either, so I had ZERO point of reference starting off! 2:40 was a big help here. (For what it's worth, this is different to the standard 7-string tuning of B E A D F# B E.) The bottom six strings are actually like drop D tuning, but then everything tuned down another 3 semitones, and then a new high 1st string added on top. Knowing it's like drop D helps enormously tbh. Again, Vogg is absolutely amazing and I am completely blown away by this song. But it is NOT a playthrough; he's just miming along to the actual song. I really really wish he would have played this live here. Big opportunity missed. :-( And then it hit me; this is basically just a feature to showcase the amps. Vid looks great and all but I would have prefered one static shot of him actually playing the song, and hearing the amp too. Dude has 6 amps in the background and we don't get to hear any of them. But incredible playing. New fav guitarist! 😁

Zasadniczo nie jestem jakimś fanem death metalu, gdyż sekcje rytmiczne bazujące na blastach, powtarzane do znudzenia w większości utworów, mnie nudzą. Oczywiście jest dość spora grupa utworów, i nawet czasem wręcz kapel, które lubię, ale co do zasady, ta muzyka mnie nudzi i dlatego znaczna część utworów decapsów też mnie nie wciąga. Mają kilka świetnych kawałków takich jak "Day 69", "A Poem About...", "Kill the Cult" czy genialne "Earth Scar", ale nie jestem w stanie siebie określić mianem fana ich muzyki... Ale ten kawałek... To istne mistrzostwo... Dla mnie to absolutna topka utworów metalowych (i nie mówię tylko o Death Metalu). Moc, energia, absolutnie zajebista aranżacja, perka wspaniale podkreślająca genialny riff. Ależ tu wszystko zagrało... jakże bym chciał więcej takich aranżacji od Decapsów.
No one talking about Vogg's obvious Dime influence...i think he takes the flavor of Dime ... and turn's it up about 100%🤘 he's downright ridiculously talented! You can't even put him in a genre or type... he's all over the place. 🖤🤘
