Hello, I'm receiving a lot of questions about the games not working after installation. As stated in the video, this is a multi-part video guide and this guide has four parts. This video is part one, which only covers the game's installation. You will likely run into problems after installing the games as I did. Remember, these games are 20+ years old and made for older operating systems. Master server patch should fix most issues and it is covered in part two. Part three will cover all other technical support questions. Part four will cover additional content (mods, maps, etc) for the game and the AvP2 community of players. The videos are split up because some players, might not run into tech issues, might not care about extra content, etc. I would advise parts one and two as mandatory viewing to get the games working on modern Windows and multiplayer working. Part three is for tech support and it's there if you run into issues. Part four is when you want to see the other cool stuff the games have to offer other than the base games and where to get together with other players. Doesn't work, Ive tied it like ten times now, Exe versions and Iso versions, none of the games actually start, they turn on and turn themself off by its own after a second
@@TheDeadRedSkull This is addressed in the videos. I explain in part 1 that the guide is in 4 parts. All four parts are linked in the description. Part 1 only covers installing the base games. I show how to fix every issue in the whole guide (4 parts).
There are skins made of that but not models. Importing character models into AvP2 is very difficult due to poor software support for the Lithtech Talon engine.
Amazing lighting and genuinely creepy stuff in this campaign. Kind of wish someone would make a horde/wave map with the same attention to detail. Every single one I've played for AvP 2 just has zero pacing, with constantly spawning xenos and geometry that they get caught on. It could definitely be done but it would probably take a long time

I did everything as you showed, but the game and primal hunt don't work. I start it, a window appears, it goes on for 3 seconds and then exits. Please tell me what to do?
@@b1kingkenny Uhhhhhh... Yeah, it's quite a challenge. Anyway, reinstalled several times, cleaned the registry and installed dinput.dll several times. In fact, I've been solving this problem for quite a long time (probably 2 years).Maybe my laptop is not like this😅? Turned off Human Inrerface Devices, changed screen resolution, but all to no avail
Game over, man? No, game ON. I remember trying to install and replay this a few years ago, but couldn't get it working. Thank you for this guide. And thank you past me for keeping the discs!
@wojtekt.878 I might do modding tutorials in the future. I'm not a mapper though. I do know how to open the maps but only some maps can be opened if the prefab file is available. Most of the main the game don't come with a prefab file. If you want to look into this right away, look up Dedit tutorials. That is the map editor.

i wasn't going to ask but might be the only choice i have. i uninstalled the game after doing some of these fixes but it messed up my game and i tried to reinstall it afterwards. but it says that avp2 is already installed on my pc and i also tried to uninstall it since it says it's still installed but says the folder is missing every time i try to and i'm just confused at this point. I installed the game the EXE way.
The game is still in your registry. The registry entries need to be removed then you can reinstall the game. I cover this around 4:10. Exe and Iso methods are identical aside from the folder path and the exe auto installs the official updates (but neither install msp).
@@b1kingkenny i got it working, had to download one of the programs but it worked so thank you. i only watched the video mainly for the Changing the screen resolution so sorry about that.
I remember placing i think 4 Sentry guns to support me, as long not more than 1 attacked success was guaranteed, two had me sweating since the guns either overheated or got out manovered but victory was still easy, but 3 was often a death sentence. Still sentry guns can make a huge difference. Loved to see them in action on a custum multiplayer map to. Always fun to play with or against.
This would have been a magnificent multiplayer map! Missing the time i played it with internet buddies. The UMP - Ultimativ Map Pack, had even a fully functional multiplayer map with redundancy systems, multiple entry points. [main entrance that could be defended by players or alien digging a long tideous tunnel into the viacle bay] Good times... good times... Usually played on Overrun mode with 2 lives for marines and 30 for Xenomorph, with up to 30 min gametime for a sungel match if the teamwork was sound.
All that burned mission money... to bad could buy a family a lot of food 😢 The Predator either was going for safe than sorry or was taking his time picking a.i. apart, euther way great video. Damn close result at the end, but the timer is everyones enemy here it seems. The A.I. seem to do a great job distracting players =3
Egg-xellent campain! All this eggs are to be expected by a breeding Hive, the A.I. is pretty well scripted and the overall action is varied an well acted upon. Loving all the details 😊 This would be a great addition to the original campain ♡
Hi KingKenny, I'm using a google chromebook to download this. I've downloaded the files but can't get the installer going (A reddit pop up appears and says I still need to authenticate though I;m not sure what that means). I'm not very tech savvy, so any pointers would be solid. I'm sure I'd probably just benefit from just changing to using a windows enabled computer, but the chromebook is the best I can do at the moment. Cheers!
Hey, This game is for Windows (PC), Mac and Linux. The AIO and ,aster server patch is only available for PC. I don't know how you came across a Reddit pop up. Nothing I shown on the video has to to with Reddit. You can either install Windows OS on the Chromebook or try installing a Windows virtual machine. This way you keep the Chrome OS still. I can't help anymore than that as I don't use a Chromebook.
Appreciate your help, but i still have the problem where when playing at 4k, everything is zoomed in, I tried the DPI solution and it didn't help at all.
@@b1kingkenny figured it out, I was using the custom launcher and I needed to use the DPI solution for that and the avp2.exe. Thanks again for all your help
Hello Kenny please help i have problems, im not good with computers. I always dreamed about playing this game as a kid but i never had a pc but now the dream might be fulfilled 15 years later lol. MAYBE😭😭 So i installed AvP2 successfully and the game seems tu run but i have issues ,the iso version (i know as a noob i should have installed the other version....but i didnt...). I cant install the updates, it gives me an error. It says:" The InstallShiedl Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed. IKernel.exe could not be copied to C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine\6\Intel 32. Make sure that you have the appropriate privileges to copy files to this folder. (0x20). Cant install Primal Hunt, same error. So yeah i installed the base game and it runs but i get a wierd glitch, the cutscenes are speeded up. Any advice?
No issue with the iso version. It's the version that I use. Use the exe version if you want an easier install process. Then install the master server patches (see part 2) and then if you run into problems check out part 3. I cover technical support issues there. Your issue fps speed. I cover it there.
@@b1kingkenny thank you for the help, i managed to make AvP2 work(the iso version), i installed the master patch and it fixed everything👍 Dont know what to do with Primal Hunt tho....can i install the exe version of primal hunt if i have the iso version of the base game?
@@b1kingkenny ahah i'm not good with this stuff,so at this point if i cant install primal hunt with the iso version process i should try the exe install process?(whitout uninstalling the AvP2 base game that i got to work).
