Aliens vs Predator 2's (AvP2) developer, Monolith, wrote a detailed backstory for AvP2 and it's characters. However, most of this backstory was removed from the final version of the game.
Some of the backstory does remain in the final version of the game, but mainly as references to things that aren't expanded upon. Also some names of characters and places changed in the final version of the game.
Fortunately, I happened to stumble upon this previously unreleased backstory which was built for the alpha version of AvP2. In this audio narration of the backstory, I've added supporting video to go along with it.
The backstory is broken into the following:
1. Overview
2. Cast
3. Teams:
-The Marine Rescue Team
-The Corporate Team
-The Iron Bear Battalion
-The Alien Hive
-The Predator Sumar Clan
4. Some characters from each team.

Ok, in this case definitely the final version was way better than the alpha one. If I remember correctly, this was one of the models of the two predators who got captured in the level Trap, right? The one from whom you take the mask in the level Unexpected Allies. Maybe the plans changed and now insted of being a son avenging his father, you are a father avenging his son. And then I guess that got scrapped because we get nothing about that in the game.

The whole father, son thing was scrapped. So were the names of the Predators and their clan. All the predators that were captured winded being nameless predators. However, Monolith did leave the names of each predator type in the AvP2 demo. They then removed those names in the final release. There were lots of bigger plans across the board that were either scrapped or dumbed down a bit. I don't know if you picked up the statement about the "slayer" in the Sumar Predator clan video. The slayer was planned to be a major enemy type at one point as well. I pieced things together about how the slayer was described from other info I researched on it and it was most likely the striker model (giant mosquito looking thing) as it fits the same description.
