I'm currently restoring a 1984 Austin Rover Mini (25th Anniversary Edition). This car is bought as a restoration project. But I'm doing it bit by bit, so I can also enjoy driving it once in a while :)
Feel free to leave a comment & thanks for visiting my channel!
Planning on buying my first mini, too and your videos are really good. Is there any store in Europe where you buy your parts? Buying from uk results to more costs in customs and it’s an issue. At least in Greece.
How would you go about it without the ultrasonic cleaner ? I’m wanting to try restore mine before spending all the money on a new one but don’t have an ultrasonic cleaner 🙏
Scary but good that you shared. We all need a reminder of how things can go wrong. Looking at your other videos, it strikes me there's very little Knuckle Rash. Now I know why you've learned the hard way to be calm and methodical. 😮 keep up the great work
Nice job defo like the finish at the end, myself I would be a bit concerned about the petrol. As i used to be petrol deliverer and aluminium oxide in side could be very risky. But good for you looks great ❤
Dont place grease on the bottom of the joint cups keeps them high in the socket unless you going for concourse resto use more stainless such as the grease nipples and those bump stop and bushes would be better in silicon could have powdercoted the subframe
Hi great job work done on radiator magic. If u could explain the set up of the three jars. Was it connected via battery when cleaning in salt and vinegar…
Not the smartest thing to do with a angle grinder, that is why they make bench grinders, but I've done this before. just like in real life this scared the crap out of me too.
Thank you so much for this video. I love the way you don't talk in your videos and you get straight to business, which is what is really lacking in many videos on RU-vid. Keep up the great work and I look forward to more of your videos.
Hi! My god..... I've never relaxed and been more motivated so much to get my mini done! This format of almost complete silence and sped up footage is perfect! Then you kern everything at the end!! can you pleeeeeeeease make more vidss! ill happily join a patrion!
When l first started fixing the car brakes a utlra sonic parts cleaner would be great way to get the parts clean instead we had old farts and their Old still ldeas
So many things wrong here. Good video. Just for people who do not know: Standing in the debris field. Cutting into the edge. Not wearing kevlar or leather gloves. Guard in the wrong spot. Hand is way to close to 11_000RPM wheel. That is 147 mph or 236 kph spin. Grinder mounted to table up side down. And this is what guys do everyday across the globe. Good video.
Do you remember roughly what ratio of degreaser/water/vinegar did you use? Great lil vid btw, hope the project is still coming along nicely! At this stage now with my mpi!
I have one of these sitting on my bench... after asking online i was told to just buy new... But after watching this video i think ill take a stab at rebuilding it. Amazing work, meticuluos video love it!! if your cars built completely like this its going to be a work of art!! ha ha. Thankyou
Excellent video. But according to the note inside the seal kit the thicker seal (Main) goes nearest to the spring and the other thinner seal (Secondary) goes towards the plunger.
