I purchased a 2012 VE HDT Group 3 s2 about 6 years ago i looked at an e3 hsv but hsv are dim a dozen I wanted something different, I have not driven my car without someone coming up to me raving about it about 3 times I been asked if they can take pictures of it as they have never seen 1 in the flesh, what did surprise me is how much people knew about the car and the cult like following Peter Brock still has today, 1 guy came up to me in a servo while putting fuel in he said he didn't know anything about cars but that looks awesome, the car its self has lsx fully forged engine and is currently getting a huge 98mm Turbo fitted to it more is built to take 2000hp everything in the engine is the ducks guts
We matched it to pictures from Bathurst ‘87. Except for missing a roll cage and a few minor things, it’s a pretty good match. The car has stayed in SA.
Lower k’s are always good for resale but the reality is the LS engines are fairly durable. They commonly suffer from lifter noise and rear main seal leaks, other than that, as long as they are serviced correctly, there is no reason why you wouldn’t get long life out of the engines.
Hi how you going i was wondering if you are located if youre in south australia im adelaide and owned hsv vr clubsport build 461 very interested if its my old clubsport there very interesting history if it is i do have vin number if you be interested to check
@@heritagerecreations i owned the car 2011 until bout 2013 that was the year they tried to steal it and can point you in direction of person who had after me long interesting story but was stored for bout 2 years befor i bought it
@@heritagerecreations when i bought car had custom plates (hsv 461) then i changed to (S117AJT) but i have several photos of car showing both right and left side front and rear of car pics of all compliance plates car was very clean and straight when i had but was always weird as far as starting and still had original exhaust and hsv rims and had towbar also have photos of damage done when attempt to steal it they tried to burn the car but must got interupted as there was rag shoved in fuel filler ready to set light to car
Wow, this car has had 9 lives…. Makes even more reason to keep the project going! Feel free to touch base through Facebook or if you have contact details let us know. Cheers
Nice car pitty bout dodgey work an loss of spoiler sad people like thay still out there.. should let people know to save them the same hassles.hope it works out.
So put the crash repairers details on this video & let the world know what moron worked on the VL. He needs to be held accountable & he needs to pay for all the crappy work he did!
He is starting his business and he has already lost a lot of $’s from us not using him any more. People make mistakes and his workmanship was really good. I’m sure the feedback we provided no doubt will have assisted his business practices moving forward.
I sold parts for these and completely stripped one. Fat people break the plastic on the rear of the driver chair typically in the lower part. The glove box latch also can break. Shocks are expensive if you want to keep MRC. Other door card issue is the silver plastic metallic coating can go if you are sweaty or high humidity environment. Also the stock diff is just a shot peened regular diff (20-30% stronger) with better ratio. Also the rear lights have some issue with a module dying that feeds them power, from memory it's not too hard to fix. Basically the seat plastic (fat people lol) was the single most requested item I sold.
I was going buy one there very nice but settled for vf ss series 2 as only Holden could get with ls3 in 50k range but it’s pretty good car I’m happy with it
I have had my Ve ssv 2006 since 2009. Ignition orange colour. One bit of advice i would give any ve ss or clubsport etc owners is to change your diff oil regularly. The diff they run is a ZF diff that runs clutches inside.. The diff bloke who repaired my diff as it started slipping only when turning a corner told me he will not put an original new diff centre back in the car. He rebuilt the whole centre and put a tru track in it. The car drives so much better guys. Great video
my vu manual has a zf 3.46 and its had endless diff problems since ive owned it so that will very likely be the problem, it clunks at low speed, turning and gear changes on and off the clutch. been wanting to upgrade to a ve 6.0 manual but so hard to find a good one
Yeah agree they got the stereos wrong. I tell you what the good ol VE are growing on me.. imo the wagons and utes look way better but, GTS will always be cool
Loving the build! VR/VS HSV- my favourite shape. The replacement tag, I have a damaged Vin tag (on the rad support-VH) caused by an over zealous apprentice sanding it during a respray. Who/where did you source it from?
Hi mate, The plate came from Europe, a company called Data plates. They are not stamped from behind but they are also $1200 cheaper than they are in Australia.
Ripper vid, always sad to hear/see a VT go but at least you've got a fair reason to make the change, the right deal will pop up so keen to see how it all pans out
Oh no the ole rats nest under the bananas 😂 Very wise choice with the 276, people over estimate the standard Holden 8s compression which is barely over 8:1 .. the only way to get power from these is new bottom end rebuild or... Something to strongly consider.. supercharger :)
These standard engines were junk Standard they were 185 kw The club sport had a lightened flywheel as well … completely stuffed it My brother had one from new It frankly was an embarrassment My fg 6 cylinder has 190 kw in taxi spec trim … Put something in it that actually goes…
