Almost 2025 I don't think they care. Atleast it's playable and I bought it for $40 so that's not a rip off. I appreciate them not raping players with micro transactions and pay to win features. That's about it. Warband was objectively a better game
@karmabarrier1319 that's a tough one. I almost feel like knowing how good of a game warband was takes away from bannerlord. Bannerlord could have been so much better. I'm not sure anything matter to your play through of bannerlord. Quests don't matter, who your marry doesn't matter, who you fight doesn't matters. In warband you can't even buy a business without being liked by the ruling lord first. You had to find the ruler, figure out how to increase your reputation with him, and then go back and buy your business. You might say that seems kinda extensive but when the alternative is I hit the A button twice to get whatever I want. I'd rather do a few quests. I get incredibly bored with bannerlord incredibly fast
@karmabarrier1319 if you like medevil stuff you'd love both. Knowing now how much I like them i would have gladly paid $60 for each. I don't buy games often.
Checked the update after your comment. Seems like just the bug fixes again. If it really became unstable again, then I don't know what to say, honestly.
I'm glad they made a setting for improving visuals the Gusts Of Wind, because of your points made and a minimap with the Ghost Of Tsushima styled map would've looked amazing.
I have 1300 hrs plus played on Bannerlord and I’m currently playing on a save game I’ve had going for about a yr, my starting character is retired and I’m playing as his heir. I’m playing on version 1.1.0 and employ 68 mods. Like I said before I have 1300 hrs plus in game but the difference in my campaign is the hrs spent off game on Nexus mods finding, testing, and implementing game changing mods. Everything from crafting armor to being able to command individual parties in my kingdom. Vanilla Bannerlord is very much a “game with so much potential” that does fall short but you can definitely fill in those gaps with mods, if you’re willing to put in the time.
The main issue of the game is that its 20% finished after like 10 or more years of development and will never be fully finished, well maybe in 10 more years or so.
@@indridflame669 the thing is it doesn't take ten years to make progress, they make so little changes and so little content it's been a year and there's been nothing from taleworlds, they are killing their game
For me Outer Worlds (with both DLC`s included) is one of the best AAA singleplayer games i played in recent years. However, without the DLC`s its a bit short and not fleshed out enough.
Massive Bannerlord Overhaul Mod That's Releasing This Year But There's A Problem ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Duuzc_9MsPI.html&ab_channel=JackieFish
Just lower your expectations. It's way smaller and way less detailed. Just pretty good story and good jokes. It took me under 30 hours, as I've said. Still I enjoyed it. Just make sure to get it on sale :)
I just played through this game, and outside of the DLC Murder on Eridanos this game is meh. When it released, people tried to claim it was a new Fallout: New Vegas. I'd rather play Fallout 4 over this game, and Fallout 4 is considered "the worst" Fallout game in the series.
I came across this randomly when it first came out years ago and grabbed it and was pleasantly surprised how much it made me laugh, and just how easily it tickled my Bethesda game spot. I still have it now and recommend it to anyone who is burnt out on their current RPG offerings. It is somewhat linear like you said, but you still get the exploration feeling, without realizing you are lost at some points like in a true sandbox. I also do like how it felt seamless with its load screens and animations, unlike Starfield. Suffice to say IMPO, a banger title for what it is. Glad to see others appreciate this hidden gem.
Exactly! I was laughing a lot while playing this title. Yes, it's linear, I think saying a linear game with open-world elements makes it justice. And that doesn't retract anything from the title, perfectly sized for what it is! I didn't expect to like it this lol
Hidden gem? Lmao this game had a HUGE launch and everyone was covering it. Your comment makes no sense. The game is very highly regarded for the most part
I really enjoyed the game but I got stuck in Byzantium on both playthroughs I attempted. I get to a point where I can't progress - the first time I thought it was a random bug, but it happened the second time as well. I can't take off and I can't talk to anyone and I can't be bothered to try a third time!
Generic FPS with RPG mechanics with choices that ultimately felt inconsequential and a narrative that can be summed up as "Capitalism is bad Morty, we need to kill the Captialists Morty!" The thing that really got me was there were no romance options but you can unironically get cucked by an "asexual" lesbian and the "good choice" is helping her hook up with another chick... I'm not even mad that the game itself was the definition of mid mechanics wise and it's at best AA in terms of scope, I'm just wondering what happened to the quality of Obsidian's writing went? (oh that's right, they got rid of their best writers)
Hmmm, I played through twice. I've also played BioShock. I find this to be closer to Fallout but I do see the Bioshock comparison. I've also played Starfield through to NG+.....I kept wishing it was as good as Outer Worlds, which it isn't. I agree the Spacers Choice version is oversaturated. Weapons could use better scaling. Overall, an underappreciated game. I loved it.
@@timrorhus it feels more like Bioshock 1 or 2 to me than Infinite with the exception of the outdoors setting. Bioshock 1 and 2 had their flaws but were overall really enjoyable and had a good story. I thought Infinite was one of the worst "games" I've ever played, since its characters, story and mechanics were all terrible.
Honestly, I’m glad there’s not too much forced story. I create my own narrative for each play through. You can approach it differently each time. And with mods there’s a ton of ways to enjoy it. Does it have everything? No. Can we imagine more? Of course. But for what it is, I think it’s brilliant. They never promised social dynamics like CK3. They didn’t promise any sort of city builder or city sim. They made an awesome medieval battle game. The only thing I could think they could have done better on was making a bit more reason to go into cities and towns. But on the other hand, the shortcuts are just a choice. I could easily just go inside and it’s actually nice they provide an option to skip it if you want. At the end of the day, each one of these medieval rpgs have their limits. I don’t think we can judge this game badly because it has some. Plus, if it were too much more in depth my laptop would have no chance running it. Lol
I'm against the forced story for this game, too. But collection of random events happening would still be complementary. Though it's not exactly the most important thing for me. And sure, I don't expect CK3, but a bit more logic and thought into AI and options of waging wars is what I find to be important. The game is just boring and sometimes even frustrating in mid to end game. Because AI can't handle stuff.
Bannerlord is one of the best games ever made. But after several hundred hours in it, it does have some flaws which start to become irritating. It needs more small unit mission types with variety, as the repeat Bandit Hideouts get tedious.
I'm huge fan of this game but this game has major problems. There is no proper deplomacy, when you become a king or queen you don't get a crown until your kids become of age, you fight the same enemies over and over again and if your kingdom has any power you end up fighting multiple wars because vessels and the current ruler doesn't want to make peace. On PC I think the game is fine because mods fix those problems but as consoles player we don't get any of that until tailworlds adds it which at this point they probably never will because they let modders do their job for them. This game had potential of being one of the most unique games but they completely dropped the ball.
The crown thing is so specific, but SO true, haha. I remember, on one of my playthroughs, I just decided to find out which of the lady's had the crown I liked and married them, and then after becoming a king, I took it from them, lol
To sum up the experience of still playing Bannerlord after its official release: TalesWorld: Congratulations! You helped me to get another patch for M&B: Bannerlord! Fans: Oh great! And what do we get? TW: Nothing! Now get out! Fans: What? TW: GET OOOUT!!!
I got into the game after full release. And now after 599 hours I finally started to use more advanced mods. And with Banner Kings and RBM its like a whole new game to me! So I hope I get another 500 hours out of it. For all its flaws I belive the community makes up for much of it. Edit: Also recently installed Fourbrie which really gives you a reason to interact with the world more
