Man! 21 and I just bought my first and the second car and it’s of course Ford 1954 and 1997 explorer 5.0 partly because of you. Which Ron Francis wire harness did you use? I have a 53 f100 on a 2000 explorer frame and can not find a stand alone wire harness to make my motor run.
Did you go with the lokar shifter for the 4r70w? If so I have some questions sir. I’m doing the exact same harness and looked into lokar floor mount. How do you like it and any tips?
The truck looks amazing it's going to be gorgeous. I've got a 1998 Ford explorer that I'm working on and that body is clean I wish I could buy something like that instead of repairing all the rust on mine.

Sweet, i just finished a 59 f100 on a grand marquis and fell in love with her so now i cant sell it, so im going to pick up a 52 this weekend cab hood fenders and everything up front with no bed and told him to keep a frame he was trying to sell but do have a title most important part were im from. Don't even a have donor yet so i may go your route. Im gonna subscribe to your channel and gets some pointers and ask a few questions.
Wheelbase is off by 1.5". The front of frame is cut off where stock explorer bumper bolts on. The front wheels are centered in the wheelwell (unlike stock, which is set back a couple inches and looks weird). The rear isn't exactly centered, but nobody will notice.
I would like to see more in depth of the chassis. It looks very nice, why isn't this swap more popular than the Crown Vic. I personally think the Crown Vic is too wide...
Man that thing is sweet. This is my dream swap for my 68 F100, just want to make it a nice driver that I can hop in and go wherever anytime of the year, my current 360 and 3 on the tree is only good for local cruising lol
First off, awesome truck! BEWARE PEOPLE OF THE EXPLORER 4.0 ENGINE...look up changing timing chain. Engine has to come out of car, and oil pan comes off. NO KIDDING...
What is the model number for the wiring harnesses? And did you do any upgrades to the engine? How’s the interior going? I know I’m asking a lot but I’m starting building my truck, I already purchased a good running explorer awd and like your set up.
Hi I just got a 52 f1 and I like how your truck is set up and I’m going to do the same. Did u have to cut the chassis and did your run in to any problems when setting the f1 body to the explore?
You do have to cut about 8"-12" off the front of the frame (basically the stock bumper mounts). And no, there weren't any problems. The old bodies fit right over this chassis like it was meant for it.
@@robertphillips4616 Are working on a 54 F100, We decided to use an interceptor 2008, Made for a lot more work. Then again up here in Alberta it would be difficult to find a Ford Explorer all wheel drive with a 5 liter
Hey with using the Ron Francis harness for the engine what did you have to do for the transmission being it’s a aode correct? Did the wiring harness fix everything or did u have to go with a aftermarket brain for the transmission?
