Welcome to VesperArcade! We're a gaming channel dedicated to fighting game news, guides, and discussions.
Learning fighting games can be tough! That's why our videos focus on a friendly, easy-to-approach style, using our years of experience playing in the arcades. We also stream on Twitch almost daily, answering questions, and there is also a Discord channel to hang out with our community.
Currently focused on covering everything about Street Fighter 6.
Finally, we have a huge passion for retro gaming, so be sure to check out our second channel for full playthroughs.
I'm around diamond 2 with Ryu and I feel like he beats terry in the fireball war. Because since Terry's only fireball that reaches across full screen is light fireball and of fireball, this means that ryu's od fireball will beat l fireball and his Denjin od fireball will beat Terry's od fireball. I've had plenty of situations where Ryu just flat out beat terry in the fireball war. He also has a fake fireball like how Ryu uses hashogeki, but at the end of the day he can't compete with Ryu. He could probably get away with it against Ken, but I don't think he can get away with it with characters like Ryu and Akuma, maybe even Guile
Just beat this version of ST for the achievement in the 30th anniversary collection and had to come here and watch someone else suffer. Absolutely ridiculous. Zangief's sweep ffs
What are the rules? You said some characters can break the rules. Bro I need help even understanding the rules..I just need to know basics I really want to start playing
I was a halo2 pro and top 100 in halo. I would play alot of fighting games in side tournaments when I went to play halo tournaments. I became a very good tekken player from it. I want to play sf but I dont understand anything. I'm willing to coach someone in tekken if they can coach me in sf because I don't even understand how the input mechanics work..really could use the help.
Terry is super fun to play but IMO he's mid. Zero normals + on block, stubby heavies (other than st.hk) he has high damage but lots of his options are "fake". Awesome character, super Solid, but I think he's mid-tier somewhere around Ryu
One good button after using the new DR, 5MP, 3HK target combo into buff is 5HP. 5HP will hit later in the active frames which you can then cancel into Heavy Hundred Hands for big damage. I catch people with this all the time when they are pressing buttons on wake up. The only downside is the cancel timing into hundred hands is a little weird so you have to delay it a bit.
I'm buying Terry stock low. I'm expecting a few buffs here and there and a long tail rise through the ranks as the labbers reveal the optimal tech. This season, we will see 1 or 2 serious Terrys, but a year or two from now we'll see more. I don't think he'll ever get to Akuma/Ken level usage, but he's got a niche.
Terry is ok. He is a solid mid A teir character. The problem with him is that he is the 5th shoto in sf6. Is there really a reason to pick him when the other shotos do what he doesto a better degree?
I don't think anyone grasps how hard you'd have to hit someone just to keep them in the air, let alone launch them like 20 feet (which in the case of all of these supers would just be an instant decapitation). Dee Jay punching you with that much force would probably look like someone getting blown apart by an actual machine gun.
I have no problem with pay to win. If I'm paying for a character, why shouldn't that character be strong? The issue I have is not making the base characters just as strong. Oh, and another thing I realize while playing is gameplan revolves around his plus frames Burning knuckles setups
Terry Swift mid tier AF, like hes always been. The iconic VA isnt there, which kinda sucks. Overall though, hes a well balanced, well designed character.
People saying he has too many moves, and here i am saying hes has not enough moves. 😅 i jest a bit but i am coming from the SNK side of the house and he feels fine. KoF 15's terry is still the best version of Terry but SF6 is definitely the second best.
i agree pro players won.t pick him up any time soon expect for those speicalist that loves terry want to make it work .though i will say tachikawa terry very nice i would not be surpised replace his manon who knows but his m ed so good doesn.t need to switch well see.
@6:14 when he said Terry has so much to choose from you have a brain spasms when you do a combo is so true LMAO 😂😂😂. I drop combos because I don't know what I want to do lol.
He gives me Ken vibes very solid, balanced, only slightly more complex then Ken because he has more moves but for those of us who played Terry in snk games it stays true to his roots and would be pretty easy to pick up and play, he has some nuance and his combo routes are definitely comparable to ken, a decent character overall.
Complicated is crazy with everything you just explained that’s the base tline of almost any other fighting game… have you only played SF, cuz that’s very basic and the base line of complication for most other fighters
Terry is very strong but he is not a brain dead character. you need to use your brains to use Terry to the Max. he is very fun to play as. if you can fully master him. you can not be stpped. Terry is Running Wild. Terry # 1 SNK # 1
@vesperarcade heard you mention on stream that you're learning the game more from playing Terry. Any chance of a vid on learning the game/fundamentals through Terry.
I was definitely struggling with Terry a bit in the ranked ladder, and was taken aback by how hard he is (coming from someone who has played Terry in SNK games with little trouble), but he is gradually clicking with me, and that feeling is pretty gratifying, compared to playing say Bison who was much quicker grasp.
I don’t play six yet but from what I know, a character people like is better than whether they’re good or not cause if a character changes in the meta, someone has to care about them
What I love most about him is the extremely long late cancel frames on H.powercharge that allows so much combo depth and freedom, I can't stop playing him. He has endless combo routes and imo some of the best normals in this game.
I like how Terry actually requires some braincells to use. This game does not need another braindead shoto-type. He's also the most fun character in the game right now? I wasn't expecting that.
