A podcast about knitting and other crafts. I love knitting so I've decided to have some fun and make a podcast to chat and share what I'm working on. I also dabble in other crafts like embroidery which I can share from time to time.
Such nice projects! Really enjoyed your presentation and hope to make one of the shawls soon. I was gifted a skein of cashmere and would love to use it for something around my neck. It is so very soft! Thanks again for the patterns!
My favorite one skein pattern that shows the yarn features beautifully is the Close To You shawl by Justyna Lorkowska a free pattern on Ravelry. It's a very pretty shawl with a jagged lace edging that is a statement piece in any yarn colorway.
Nice finding your channel today. I grew up in Germany 🇩🇪 and hope you enjoyed your time there. RU-vid sent me to you because I am working on my first Sophie scarf. Like yours, mine will be one that wraps around once, so the larger version I don’t have the pattern, so I think that my center section a bit too wide, but oh well! Lol😅 it’s like fisherman who wish each other “tight lines“ or cigar aficionados, who wish each other “long ashes“. Thanks for uploading the video on your progress!
Thank you for squeezing in an episode! I’m so excited you are thinking to do a brioche shawl! I love knitting brioche and the colour possibilities for it are endless! Have a lovely holiday and please let me know the next time you are coming to Melbourne! It would be great to catch up for a coffee!❤
What a joy to see your lovely face again! A ranunculous is always a guarantee of happy knitting days and your other projects are very inspiring too! sending all the best wishes for the festive season to you too my darling! take care! Dany xxx
Hi Kel! I;m late to the party, but loved your episode! Your knits are great! You’ll love the long to short rows on that shawl. Its similar to the Hiraeth pattern I made. XxGay (Purlfect Pairings)
Hi there, Hope you are doing well. I just saw the video and I was watching it, your video quality is really appreciable. I am so impressed by your content, I was analysing your channel and noticed that You are struggling with video views and video ranking. Your channel has some issues. You have made many videos so far but you are not getting views and subscribers as expected. But your content deserves more views and subscribers. Your channel has no complete SEO for any videos, no channel tags, no proper video tags, , no chapters added and no SEO-friendly titles and descriptions. If you complete all tasks then you will get more views and subscribers. I Would be happy to assist you in fixing it. Thanks
Your no frills is beautiful. Love the neutral color. And what a wonderful shrug for your mother. Thank you for a great episode, Kellie. Wishing you and your family good days ahead.
Your sweater is gorgeous, the colour is so lovely. I’m so glad everything turned out well with your skin, it’s not an easy country growing up in as we start to get older 😬 go the skin checks 💪🏻 off for mine soon. Happy knitting 💕
Lovely knits that you are working on. I think the fabric on your No Frills Sweater looks really good - might copy the same needle size if I knit that sweater 😊 Personally found the Cumulus Tee to be a very loose fit, so good idea to try it on as you progress, to decide on the size.
Thanks! I agree the fabric looks great on the no frills sweater so might have been a bit loose otherwise. Thanks for the tip for the cumulus and I’ll keep it in mind when I need to decide on the sizing.
Great to watch you again - thank you for your video. Something I thought of about needle sizes, from your comment at the end saying you don't seem to have a 3.00mm size - I’ve found that needle sets or kits often don’t have 3.00mm needles. My theory is that needle sets use the whole US sizes. So 3.25mm, which you have, is US size 3 and the next size down is US 2 being 2.75mm. 3.00mm is the US size of 3½ and I suspect needle sets only using the whole US sizes often don’t include 3½ (ie 3.00mm)
That makes a lot of sense. I actually think I might have some 3mm that I bought separately but who knows where they are now. Probably lost in some forgotten project 😂
Really appreciate you sharing about the skin cancer. What a fright! So glad you were on top of it. I heard your message loud and clear and as a result I will follow up with my own doctor regarding a couple spots I’m suspicious about. Re: knitting! I have recently wanted to cast on so so many WIPS! Another podcaster I just wAtched called it “squirrel energy” 😆 Yep I’ve got that. Thanks for the inspiration as always! The Coastland shawl is awesome.
You channel was recommended to me and I popped over to take a look. Loved this episode and the top you are wearing is stunning. Can't wait to see more of your channel. Best wishes from a Canadian knitting podcaster!
Hello from Tropical Nth QLD. Good work on the skin cancer PSA! I'm glad you caught it early and were proactive about it! I've never understood the "we could biopsy or wait and see" options...if it's a maybe biopsy...just do the damn biopsy! 😊 Having a scar is way better than not being here anymore.
Glad it was caught early and you are ok! Being a redhead in Sydney it’s a good reminder for me to get my skin checked…thankyou! Love the purple party top btw ❤
I go every 5-6 months now for a full body skin check because every time I go, they burn or cut someone off. So glad you went and it is gone! Keep up frequent skin checks.

Greetings from Ballarat, Victoria. I just found your podcast and have subscribed. Here’s hoping a majority of us Vote Yes on 14/10. 🤞🏻 I have also made that mistake with my Chaigoos. Fortunately, I realised after only a couple of rows.
Welcome Jennie!! I hope the majority vote yes too but I’m quite concerned that it’s not going to be a good result. I wasn’t sure if I should say anything on the podcast (it’s usually better not to get political) but I feel pretty passionate about it so felt it was important to share my thoughts - if only briefly.
@@kelknits I’m glad you did say something as it makes your podcast more personal and the issue shouldn’t be political 😡 I’m also passionate about it and concerned but still hoping.
I’m so glad they’ve always been benign for you and it’s great that you get checked regularly. Lucky for all of us the detection tools and treatment options have advanced so much it’s not nearly the terrifying diagnosis it used to be.
@@kelknits I just reread what I wrote. I didn't mean it to sound that there's nothing to worry about. I have been incredibly lucky and I do still get my skin checked even though so far I have had any issues. It could happen at any time so it's always worth the check and who cares about the scar if it potentially saves your life :)
That shrug is pretty - my suggestion is lifelines at the end of every pattern repeat, that way if you do need to rip back, it’s only a few rows and not the whole thing. Also, an alternative- I’m sure Kaci from Youngfolk Knits test knitted a ballet wrap bolero in one of her very early eps. It could easily be modified to short sleeve if you wanted to do that. It’s fluffy though, so may not be weather appropriate.
Thanks for the suggestions Jody. I did think about adding lifelines but have decided it’s not worth the worry and am going to go with another pattern. I do like the idea of a ballet wrap - it’s probably not going to work for what my mum is after but I’d love to knit one for myself one day.
Thank you for sharing about your health. I am so glad you were proactive and that you got it taken care of! It is a good reminder (especially for my kids) as the sun is a lot more dangerous now than when I grew up. You really have been busy casting on all those projects! Pressed Flowers hat is in my 1 or 2 next items to start. I look forward to seeing how your cowl knits up. Happy Knitting!
You’re going to love the pressed flowers! I’m finding the pattern quite addictive which is a little problem as I have so many other things to work on 😂 But then who cares as long as we’re enjoying our knitting!
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 😊. I'm pausing after the skin cancer section to say how angry it makes me when I hear about doctors shrugging off questions about skin cancer! It's such an easy procedure to take a biopsy. I had surgery for a melanoma about 8yrs ago...my dr was doubtful it was anything, but said it did meet 3 of the criteria, so he did do a biopsy right there and then. I am thankful to now be checked by a dermatologist once a year. So happy you had someone actually take you seriously 😊❤
Oh you’re right we need to go with our gut! I admit my gut was probably also informed by my mum who also encouraged me to get it checked out. I’m glad you had your melanoma picked up early also.
Kel, if you have a scar, be proud of it. It will remind you of how smart you are to be proactive! When knitting lace, carry a 'lifeline' every now and then of another yarn or some crochet thread. It will help if you ever need to rip back to a 'no mistakes' row. 🙂
Oh absolutely! While I hope the scar doesn’t turn out to be too prominent I will wear it with pride regardless, as well as an ongoing reminder to be vigilant.
Thank you for sharing your health experience, it’s a very good reminder to not ignore things, and I’m so glad everything is okay. For your mom have you looked at Yumiko Alexander’s patterns on Ravelry? Her newest one is Agave, which I’m loving. It might not be what you’re looking for but there’s a few patterns that might fit your needs. By the way, I just finished my Romeo shawl! (The pattern I was gifted for the drawing). Yarn ends are still dangling but almost there!!
Its my first visit to your channel - I really enjoyed it very much. I too live close to the water in Scarborough, Queensland so I know why you are so happy to be home. Good luck with your job search and house hunting.
Thanks for the reminder for skin checks as I have had a "suspicious" mole that I know needs checking (other doctors have said so and family) and I just haven't go to finding a dermatologist and making that appointment. I now live in Florida (grew up farther north but pre-sunscreen decades). I paused the video to make an appointment (fingers crossed). Glad you caught yours early! Not changing needles seems so common and not noticing until you're supposed to change later, of course! I guess we get so excited to start something new. I can never see the size labels either even with the magnifier app on my phone, I have to use those needle guides.
What a scare! Glad to hear they caught it early and that you are okay! Your petal party crop looks amazing! Thank you for yet another inspiring episode:)
I have the pressed flowers cardigan in my queue for October. Excited to start it & hope I like the process, because I really want the garment. Looking forward to your cowl updates. Glad you are OK!
