Great bait that gets bit and I agree with everything you said about the line, rod, and definately the hooks need to go down a size. This bait is great in Florida the floating one burning over hydrilla. Use a loop knot or snap great review
I used to be love fishing. It was a healthy addiction. I was always chasing that new pb on my days off. Alcohol ruined my love for it. I am recently struggling and just went to a rehab offering long term IOP. Couldn't be happier. I still drink a tiny bit on bad nights and I am clear on that, but I do see the light at the end of the tunnel now. One day this will all be water under the bridge. I thought cold turkey was going to work until I started having seizures two weeks into sobriety, one of which was at rehab. I was recommended drugs and baby steps at the ER. I refused the drugs because they were narcotic. I now mainly ride my 2014 Specialized Epic FSR for everything I need including work. I am just loving life too much now to keep the poison in my life. I am glad you made it out. My journey starts now. I know this is a four year old post but thank you man. Hopefully all is well. Easiest sub you've ever made. Don't give up. Love the channel name btw. It's hilarious. We will agree to disagree if you changed it to Michigan lol.
@@OklahomasWorstAngler That's cool. I've been a fan of Bills for a good 10 years. He's one of the first guys I followed throwing big baits. I got my PB on the Tactical Wake 210 from Tactical bassin guys in Massachusetts last May at 7 15oz.I throw Big Wakebaits more than I probably should but they get smashed! I love the Psycho Gills, Pat's, MS Slammers. I always have a big Wakebait on. Lol
@@troycote4503 dude that’s fucking awesome!!! I love a big Wakebait too! My 2nd favorite topwater bite for sure! I’m actually throwing a shell cracker as I type this 😂
@@davidgerdes1815 maaaaan I think late winter early spring, this was so long ago and my memory is shit lol. Water temps, no idea. No working graph at the time
@@OklahomasWorstAnglerhick ya, life is a roller coaster for sure; 9 year marriage down the drain, divorced with two girls but life works in mysterious ways. I take things a day at a time that’s all we really can do. Respect the grind! 👊
I just got one of these that was part of a gift box set from Fish and Game magazine. I too thought the hook seemed a bit recessed for a good hook up. I attempted to bend one side of the hook, but the tip of it broke off under pretty minimal effort.

Great bait dude. Have many of the colors. Got that Jungle Perch originally because they don’t have a crappie pattern and that’s close enough. Have gotten some nice bites on the move, and absolutely smashed on the pause as well. 😎🤙🏽
I use mostly googan bait and rod and reel i love all their stuff and I have other companies stuff but what i don't get is if u don't like googan y make a video talking bad about them if u don't like it that fine but i don't see the need to talk bad about them when the stuff works
This video is a great example that you should always double check the info you're getting. This guy thinks a reels handle size will affect the retrieve IPT 🤦♂️. Doesn't matter if we're talking 80mm handle or 120mm handle. A full turn is still just a full turn. The spool size and gear ratio is what matters.
I reel my frog in so fast its basically hydroplaning. Some of the biggest fish ive hooked been off this new fast retrieve. Not sure ill go back to slow walkin
Awesome video showing the lure and pointing out the different ways to fish it! Do you also like the Baby Bull Shad swimbaits? They are a bit lighter weight but similar length? Thanks!
I see your point. But I thought most of us use backing under braid or flouro? I don’t know anybody that fills a spool with expensive line and expects to use the very bottom of the spool. That line is useless no matter what, hence using cheap crap mono under your expensive braid or flouro..
Looking to get into fishing again and wanna pick up a baitcaster. This one is on the meateater website thats why I'm here. Is there a baitcaster you recommend for a beginner that I'm not gonna want to upgrade in a year? Looking for a kind of buy once cry once sort of thing.
i got some old 103s i picked up 2 new 103s for $100 each off fb marketplace gonna see whats up. feels good in the hand paired with a st croix rod, but then again that is what she said 😂😂🙈🙈😊😊😊😊
So honestly.. what are the odds of catching a bass with that if you don't have sonar..I have thrown one towards the bank and never a catch..I really want to use it but I have no confidence
I know it’s kinda hard to take my word on this, when you can’t see the screen lol. But the fish I have caught on it, were not due to FFS. The grass I was fishing was way too thick to track and track my bait, or a fish on it. So I was really just fishing it, the way you saw. I will say, the odds of catching go up on a boat. Simply because you can cover more water, but I know they’ll catch with or without FFS.
