We are slowly building our video library. Right now, we have an installation video, basic start-up of the equipment and a few simple repair videos. This will help you properly maintain your equipment. Please let us know if there is a specific video you would like to see and we will do what we can to accommodate your needs.
We schedule a customer for an all day appointment, however this includes training of the equipment and an hour of run time. Just to install the unit, the average time should take approx 5-6 hours.
Good luck keeping that style oil cap on the Kohler engine. I suggest buying an aluminum valve cover they make for racing go-carts and putting that on. The water coming out that jet into the water box is coming from the pressure pump? Shouldn't the water be filtered before it goes into the pump? And why is it a jet and not just an open hose for the bypassing water from the pump? If the vacuum is set to 15Hg then it well never go higher then 15Hg. It well be closer to 15 Hg without the hose connected if the filters are plugged or if you attach the hose and it goes that high your hose is plugged. The machine well not cool down to shut it off unless you turn down the temperature control. There is no cooling it faster, there is only one way to cool it while it is running. You should never have foam coming out of the wand. If you do then that is what you are leaving in the carpet.
Hello Grant. To answer some of your questions: 1. The oil cap has worked great for many years now unless the end user overfills the oil to the point of blocking the crank case vent. Then the case builds up enough pressure to blow the cap off and strip the threads on the valve cover itself. It can and has also blown out the rear main seal. Just be careful about your oil level. 2. We use a jet in the water box to give a constant regulated flow of water into the box. This accomplished three things. First it allows a constant flow through the heat exchangers past the thermostat and temperature sending units for an accurate reading at the sensors. Second, it allows the water to flow as to not vaporize by boiling in the heat exchangers. (water flowing under pressure can get reach greater temperatures than standing water before boiling) The water hose connection has a pre-filter as well as the water box has a pre-filter before going into the high pressure pump. 3. The vacuum is set at 15Hg by blocking the vacuum off completely at the calibration phase of the testing. Once the system is installed, the maximum vacuum if everything is clogged is 15Hg. if you disconnect the hoses and run the unit with open flow, the vacuum should be around 4Hg. Once you hook up 150ft of 2in hose, a 25ft of 1.5in lead hose and your wand, the unit should be pulling around 9Hg. 4. To cool the machine down, yes turn the thermostat to the OFF position, turn the unit to mid-throttle and squeeze the trigger on the wand. The unit only has to be cooled down below 190 deg f. 5. As far as "Foam" coming out of the wand...we only use soap to test the chemical injection system only. The proper way to use the chemical system is to pre-spray the cleaning solution (soap) with a high pressure sprayer or pump up sprayer. The chemical jug on the unit should contain a fiber rinse and maybe a freshener if the customer wants it. If you have any questions about the engineering principles behind our units, you're more than welcome to contact me at the office. If the water is coming out of the front of the chrome plate it is because your waste tank if full with a faulty float switch. If the water is Coming out of the rubber exhaust hoses connected to the heat exchanger, that means your heat exchange coils could be busted. 1-800-Chem-tex.
tengo una pregunta yo tengo una truckmout es de color verde hp14. no se porque esta saliendo agua por el desfogue del motor dela parte de adelante Asia abajo en el medio el tubo del medio porfa ayudeme gracias
@@OptusCarpetCleaning thanks for response I'll check out your channel. btw what tm do you use? I'm from UpNorth near Lake Mi was using small Propane heater (unheated garage)
The coupler sleeve was badly aligned with mine. It wore out prematurely and had to buy another one and align it myself and it lasted 10× longer compared to the one installed and aligned from factory. The water pump is a nightmare to adjust if you want to align it and tighten the belt to high tolerance such as a vehicle belt system. Naver really understood the point of the metering block and the adjustment knob. It is a headache to replace the warer pump belt as you have to adjust and tighten at the same time. And you have to adjust the motor to the blower so the sleeve will last the longest. The warer pump needs a better mounting system where you can finely adjust it to be perfect with the engine pulley and tighten it easily along with the belt.
Porque no hacen videos en espanol seria de gran ayuda yo tengo una panther 20y aqui no hay quien arregle estas maquinas se los agradesceria mucho graciad
I have try just to jump (install the reemplacement belt that comes with the machine),doesn't work so easy to install the belt, Maybe is necessary to loose the pump to install the belt?
@@robertocuba76 When you are descaling your machine, not you do not need to connect all of your hoses. ONLY if you want to descale the solution hoses will you hook them up. Please remember when descaling, you need to let the water continue to "cycle" with the descale for 30-45 minutes.
Thank you for your comment. The 2-piece coupler is a little easier to install but for the most part the installation is pretty much the same. We have since changed the drive system and the couplers are no longer used on the Panther models.
@@lilmarshw In truth, pretty much all of the TM's (any of the brands) that have this system would take a while. The engine has to be removed; which is a task in-itself.
Thank you for your comment and we are glad that you found the video helpful! Stay tuned as we are planning to release additional videos with more tips and troubleshooting
I have some rinse in my water box. When I let off on the wand trigger it doesn't go all the way to 0gph more like .5 or 1 gpm. But when I trigger the wand it works and goes to 3 gph but when I let off it goes to .5 or 1 gph instead of 0gph.
This is either the brass check valve or the disk/ diaphragm. The technicians stated that if it has been 300+ hours since you've changed/replaced the disk/diaphragm, then it is more likely to be that.
Way cheaper than the rest.. I have the panther 20 for close to 10 years. The only problem I had was the rubber coupling which is not bad nor hard to replace. I dont understand why they talk bad about this truckmount.
Thank you for your post/comment. We wanted to let you know that all the Panther models have been upgraded. They no longer have the rubber coupler. The TM's now come with a Raptor, that has a 5-year warranty.
Same here, the rubber coupling destroyed itself prematurely on me from the factory not aligning the motor and blower correctly. I replaced it and took the painful time to adjust and aligning the motor that i even had to drill bigger holes to move the engine to aligning with the blower and finally the rubber coupler i installed lasted 10x longer than the factory install. The water pump mount is another poor design as it is difficult to adjust to the pulley while giving the belt some good tension and tighten the bolts on it all at the same time.
I cleaned it out and everything seems to be fine but I'm losing too much hot water into the waste tank if I put a shut off valve from the waste tank to the water hose can I slow that down
I'm going to get with my technician and see what else this could be. I'll ask the shut-off valve as well. Have you tried cleaning out your jet and filter in the water box and/or recovery tank?
Chem-Tex Manufacturing I did everything cleaned out the water box cleaned out the filters every filter I changed the oil I checked the Heat exchangers I even descale it

I'm needing help my dema valve won't allow the excess hot water to the waste tank I'm cleaned it 5 times but it's a little differ than this style I have a older dema valve on mine ! Any help would be great my unit works great but without it pumping out the excess hot water it's not safe for me to use because the temp rises quick any help would be great
This will depend on the amount of vacuum, amount of stress on the blower, alignment and other various factors. This item is classified as a consumable wear-and-tear part. There is not really a defined answer for this question. If you need a more specific answer, please feel free to give us a call.
We are posting videos as we record them. Once we are able to record a Raptor install, we will post it. We are in our busy season so it's a little harder to get the videos completed. Thank you for your feedback and request. I will see what I can do about getting the Raptor video live.
you need to add a little giant or a northstar to it since it only has a single heat exchanger. the motor is smaller so it's not going to create as much heat as a bigger motor with a dual heat exchanger on it would
What temp are you currently getting? The Panther 14 is only a single heat exchange unit, so depending on what temp you are reaching, this could already be maxed out.
yes there is. you need to add a blower preheater...that will preheat the water so it isn't ice cold before entering the engine exhaust heat exchanger. i did it on my 33 blower 13hp machine. i get super heated water. 200 degrees plus
The maintenance on each of the units are basically the same. We are currently trying to upload new videos. Once we get them edited, they will go live. We do have a manual on our website that shows the maintenance schedule if you do not already have one. @ chem-tex.com/shop/panther-14/
Thanks for video. So I guessing you keep temp. at max while doing this? Also instead of sucking out water from box can you just let water run out the front outlet hose for about 5 min. until water is clear and u sure no descaler is left in system?
Thank you for the question! The reason for putting the hose in the water box is for constant circulation. This is actually cleaning/descaling the unit. After the water mixed with Descaler has circulated for 30 minutes, then you can let the hose run out until all the Descaler is out.
Thanks for video. It looks easy to do out of van. Can you give the parts brand and part numbers for coupler and the belt . Also how many hours should a belt or coupler last? Is there any tips for making these items last longer?
Depending on the HP of your Panther TM will depend on the size of coupler and belt. The 14 Hp - 19 HP takes a #7. The 20 HP - 23.5 HP takes a #8 and the 27 HP/ 30 HP takes a #9. The belt size is an AP24 unless you have the old style 15 HP...then the belt size would be an AP23 As for brand, we use Martin and TB Woods couplers on all of our builds and repairs.
Good morning - first off, congratulations on your P14! One the most important things to remember, is to keep up with your maintenance. (Clean the filters in your water-box, grease your blower, change the engine oil every 50 hours etc. ) Also, descale your machine every month or so if you are using 'hard' water, especially in a well-water environment. I hope this helps, sorry for the delayed response. If you have any questions, you are more than welcome to give us a call 1-800-243-6839!
Tamara Pimentel I started a Facebook group for chemtex owners, so we could share information. May you join the group It's Chemtex Truckmount owners. Thanks.
can you show us and video of the truckmount in a trailer in full detail I think that would be awesome because I know you sell packages like that once again thank you
Thank you for your feedback. We are currently working on trying to add additional videos; however we have hit a very busy season. Once we are able to get them recorded and edited, we will begin to post more. If you would like to see a specific video, please let us know so we can add to our list.
