Thanks a lot! That's my favourite song from Soft Cell's first album. It's almost impossible to not think about Jimmy Somerville's voice and how well would fits. About the video, I strictly avoid to ask to the AI about a 'sex dwarf', since I didn't want any bizarre image.... So I simply asked for 'olympic gymnastics' and, my God, watch the result! When I saw it I cried with laughter! 🤣
@@matt_one only you would have the imagination to do this and your search history must be very interesting indeed work it comes to the video. What other instruction did you give to the AI as well gymnastics????
@@lostinmusik Well, initially I asked it for a female gymnast. I then get a very short 4 seconds clip and the option to extend it. I asked for things like "now the gymnast makes some spectacular jumps" or "rolls on the floor"..... I admit a little bit of perversion on my part when for the final part I asked for her to turn into a pig.... But, rightly, the word “pig” was not allowed. I replaced it with “swine”..... as if it really changed anything. And there went the disaster!
This is absolutely one of your finest! A glorious piece of work. Did I hear a snippet of “Just Fascination” by Cabaret Voltaire in there too? You’ve completely changed then merged both songs in the most divine way, like a melancholy duet - what an absolute master-work. I could seriously listen to this on an infinity-loop. The playing of your own music fits perfectly with such a palette of delicious sounds. Such creativity, so many clever touches to process, can you please send me an audio version or download link?
As always, thanks a lot for your enthusiastic comment! What a coincidence, we both thought about Cabaret Voltaire! I didn't use anything by them here, but there's actually a sound that reminds me one of their song. Musically, there is only one little bit of sound from Ladytron's original song, but it's very hard to spot. And, of course, the wonderful bell synth sound from 'Darkness'. I added all the other sounds, the electric guitar (trying to mimic the guitars sound of 'The Lebabon'), drums, bass sounds, pads, gated pads, the 'Cabaret Voltaire' sound and..... in some parts of the song I overlayed the drums from 'Let Me Go' by Heaven 17! I'll give you the download link tomorrow, because I'm simultaneously making a semi-instrumental special version. 🤭 Thanks again immensely for your support, Ian!
@@matt_one I can’t wait for the link, when you say you’ve added sounds you’ve actually completely re-crafted all the music, it sounds superb and the choice of samples, textures and instrumentation is sublime. That guitar is fabulous too, I assumed that must be in the original somewhere- stellar job!🎉
@@lostinmusik The electric guitar is not known to me to be present in “Darkness,” while in “Destroy....” it may well be there, buried among other sounds. I used it to accentuate a melody actually present in the Ladytron song, where I used a typical “sync ”synth sound slightly to the left and, indeed, the same melody doubled with the guitar slightly to the right. I then used the guitar to accentuate the chorus with female vocals and, finally, with a Darkness melody. The curious thing is that I had no idea to make a mashup between these two songs, I was simply programming a sound, exactly the first one you hear at 0:04. Then, when I turned on the arpeggiator, I said “Wow!” and recorded the exact chord sequence you hear. I thought, “Let's see what it sounds like with drums....,” and I liked it. Then, listening to it, all of a sudden I thought of the beginning of “Darkness” and thought it might work. But more was needed; I didn't want it to be just that. And that's when the chorus of “Destroy....” came to my mind. Thank you again for your great appreciation! Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Thanks! I kept the BPM from "Darkness", so Ladytron song sounds way slower than the original. "Destroy Everything You Touch" is an amazing tune, one of the catchiest synthpop song I ever heard.
@@mmchesh Great, old school... I love it! I was a teen in 1981, so that's the music I grew up with. 'Dare!' by THL is an unforgettable masterpiece! I had fun with other THL songs, if you search through my uploads and if you are interested, of course. However, I suggest you to listen to Ladytron's track.
How can you see a man? 🤣A lot of strange things happen among the audience, but it seems to me to be an all-female audience. Perhaps you are referring to the one in the red shirt on the right at 0:35, who seems to have three legs that are not fully developed and, in fact, seems to be floating. Also notable is the transformation of the chick in a black costume on the right, right at the beginning of the video.
Yes and the mix is Fierce 💪🏻 Sex Drawf I heard back in 1981 on Rodney on the Rock KROQ Pasadena 🌹 🥳 the mix is long and Wonderful a total masterpiece 🤩
@@DIRE_BAT4983 This is my favorite track from their first album, together with "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye". I absolutely loved their second album but my top track from Soft Cell is definitely "Soul Inside", with its amazing chorus.
@DoMmashupscovers But I cut out the really unacceptable parts.... you can't dislike it, come on.... A video about sport, how is it possible? Let's get it together, amicably..... I will replace it with the cut off parts. 🤭
This is a primal treasure, clad in seal-skin and tungsten armour it rocks with the tremors of an Icelandic volcano! Love what you’ve done with Army of Me, Bjork has never sounded more majestic or windswept
Thank you for enjoying this troubled experiment! After working on it for a while, I had almost decided to abandon it, which still doesn't fully convince me.... It's different from the original, of course. And it certainly doesn't have the same impact, how could it? ‘Army Of Me’ is epic and unique.
Kate Bush is sOoOoOoO not a placebo as she (ever since My late husband introduced her music to Me in 1991) All'ahways puts Me in My place & causes Me to feel complete
This is absolutely 100%…I was just listening to Björk just this morning as I did sone work. (Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of artists from Scandinavia for some reason….😁)So I’m excited to see (more accurate; hear) you’ve done something with one of my favorites of hers. I do love your version! Well done! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I am going to eat some Norwegian chocolate and have a re-listen to this!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I thought for a long time whether to upload it or not, maybe I listened to it too many times and was no longer able to evaluate it objectively. The original is fantastic and gives strong feelings of power and anger. So you are still listening to Heilung and Wardruna? I would really like to attend a concert of theirs! Chocolate? Here is my weakness.... I eat a lot of chocolate every day, fortunately without added sugar. I like chocolate with high percentages of cocoa, from 85% and up. But I went from a square of 4 centimeters per side twice a day to the whole package.
I went to school with these guys back in the 80's In Kitchener. I remember asking my friend Rob where they were( hadn't seen them at school) they were touring Europe, and they were big in the dance club scene. This song is absolutely amazing!! Glad to see people still appreciate them
I tried to give it a different flavor. The main trick here was having split the chorus in two and swapped the parts. I added some sounds in addition to the bass and drums. And here and there are a couple more melodies from two other Ultravox songs. I'm glad you liked it, thank you!
Thanks! I actually included several things that did not exist in the original. A lot of my own, but one piano melody in particular comes from an earlier song of theirs, "I Remember (Death In The Afternoon)." You can hear it from minute 3:39
@@matt_one fabulous! I didn’t recognise which song that was from, it fits like a glove and enriches the track. Triumphant! So many layers of joy and discovery in such an apocalyptic tango
@@lostinmusik They always made amazing music and a lot of great songs. This one, while wonderful, was not even my favorite from that album. I loved that album, all of it in its entirety and I'm still listening to it.
Well, hopefully we won't have to find ourselves in the situation that was seen in the video of this wonderful song. I would prefer my life to continue for at least another five years.... Thanks for listening and appreciating it, my friend!
