This is fantastic! Always a favourite track by The Cure you’ve completely re-built it into something fresh and sharp. I love that you’ve kept so many of the original features but so completely re-framed it. What is the synth used to accompany the line about “Laughing at the Christmas lights You remember from December”?
Thanks! I discovered The Cure's music late, after reading a lot about them. So, after listening to "Primary" on TV, I became very curious. Someone recorded me a tape of "Japanese Whispers" and I was immediately hit by "Let's Go To Bed". I still love it after 40 years! I especially love the bassline, but mine is completely different. I used two synth sounds in the section you mentioned, both from a software emulation of Roland System-100.
@@matt_one it’s an incredible piece of art and re-construction around that new bassline. The Roland System 100! Notorious for fuelling the sounds of the Human League Mk 1, from Being Boiled through their first two albums!
@@lostinmusik Thanks again! I was just playing some preset of the System-100 but I don't know so much about it. It's a sort of modular synth and it's monophonic , so it's quite different than the usual synth I use.
