Hello Mr. Walsh. I've had a few requests to review your excellent movie on my channel. I'd need to narrate over about 4 minutes of fragmented footage. I'd like your blessing before I proceed. If not no worries and great film.
Hi Johnny, no problems. Thanks for asking. FYI I also wrote and produced the documentary on The Battle of Long Tan. The movie is the painting and the documentary is the photograph. Cheers, Martin
Australians and newzealanders are the best soldiers in the world fearless and tough we as kiwis myt not have a big army but nz and aus together anzacs rise above all
I visited the war museum in Bendigo, Victoria. One of the guides fought in Nam. He said 'The Yanks' were very loud in the jungle and that bothered the Aussies as the Vietcong were always on the horizon. Certainly at night. 😆
Without a doubt, one of the best documentaries. Thank you to the brave Australian and New Zealand soldiers from Philadelphia, PA (U.S.) People always hear about French and American soldiers fighting in Vietnam but seldom is Australia and New Zealand mentioned. I have seen a lot of of Vietnam documentaries, but this the only one that made me cry. They were outnumbered and held the VC off. Amazing perseverance and courage.
Man , am I late to this game ! I was a medic in RVN 70-71 , and we got into some bad shit . But NOTHING during my TOD comes close to touching this !! I was in lll Corp saw the Aussies around . They had some drinking game that I did not play , but could not understand ? Great bunch of guys , every group offered me a beer or smoke . Even as a medic , this shit was unreal to me . Welcome Home My Aussie brother ..
my cousin was wia and died in Vietnam on June 26, 1966, in Quan Loi Vietnam in a rubber plantation in relief of a platoon on night ambush being overrun. I hope Australia never forgets the sacrifice these Australians made for each other in a rubber plantation 58 years ago in august 1966. Such a great video honoring their sacrifice.
I was an American artilleryman in Nam and this battle of Long Tan damned well should have been on the list for these men. But these Diggers were treated like disgracefully for too many years afterwards.
THIS STILL BREAKS MY HEART shame on everyone who protested and insulted vets of each and every nation LEST WE FORGET OUR ANZACS.. I have two very close mates and a brother in law still terribly affected by this war andfor the brother in law one of his grand daughters has paid the price with a liver transplant at 4, she will suffer life long now being 13
I was just a kid, really. It seems like a million years ago. In truth, it was just the better part of a life time. Soon it will be over. Soon it will be forgotten. Peace.
As an American I would fight with these guys anytime. These were good fighters. My cousin fought along side these guys and said they were real warrior. He always went on vacation to there country after the war.
Really good movie this, all you people watching this vid from the US and Britain, check it out. Some really good Aussie actors in this including a few who will be familiar with American audiences in other films like "The Dirt" and "Hacksaw Ridge".
I served there as a sapper in 67/68 when I came home I was treated with disrespect so I never told anyone if the subject came up,as it continues to this very day.
I watched this movie yesterday and I was like wow... checking Google I was moved to tears Many sacrificed their lives in Vietnam during that long 20yrs battle
