I’ve never seen an actor like him .. the whole cast was great.. the story .. the sets .. the cinematography.. the atmosphere.. it was just brilliant on every level !! We need more films like this made in our beautiful country .. with our fantastic home grown actors .. the talent in Australia is spilling over .. we need more films like this to give our wonderful talent something to chomp into .. please give us more of this .. we need it in bucketloads !! Thank You to the amazing storytellers & bravest of men who brought this true story to life on screen for us all 🇦🇺♥️. Xx.
I rent the " danger close the battle of long tan" movie on the week end. 10/10 stars ... This is the only true story movie thats 99.9% to the real story. Will done Martin Walsh for your 11 years of hard work to put this together, my hat go's off to you.
Best war movie ever made. It is my most watched movie ever already which as a 55 yo movie collector, really means something. Well done lads. Brilliant. (Brisbane)
When I was in 2 Cav - Assault Troop - between 91-92 - we had Don Burke from Burkes backyard TV show come to the unit at Holsworthy. Assault Tp got "tasked" to do the show - we did some dumb shit and got on TV for 5 seconds. Burke was a total dickhead, and was all about himself. CPL Craig Cook ( Cookie) - was one of the main people on the show. We had to "present arms" - but it was pot plants....LOL so dumb. The other thing that we ( Bsqn) were on TV was when we got deployed to Nyngan to do flood recovery - man it was my birthday ( February) - I was in my room at the lines in Joradan Barracks, and my Tp Sgt came and said- " you have 30 mins to get ready to deploy" - we were driven in Mogs out to RAAF Richmond by Police escort - then Herc'ed to Nyngan. We were barracked at the showground - had nothing - we had not cots etc, so we slept on the concrete floor. We had no food ( MRE's) - and relied on the local women to cook us soup and sandwiches and other things, for a few days, before we got some rat packs.. We ended up working literally 20 hr days - we built sandbag walls like the " Atlantic" and "Pacific" wall etc. And we also saw so many of the local men just ignoring us, and not even helping. I remember us being on a chain gang with sandbags- and every now and then, a 1/2 weight bag would come ( we would call it a "Morale" bag )..LOL. It was the absolute worst, but I ended up being on channel 9 news on my 21st Birthday!!!........LOL - gotta love the ADF!
