I got my first pocket knife when I was five years old and since then my passions in life have always revolved around the outdoors.
My focus is not on having the latest and greatest gear. Most of the gear I use I have had for many years and I try to pack as little gear as possible. Bushcraft is about using what nature provides to live comfortably in the wilderness. A lot of the essentials and comfort items can be crafted from natural materials using the right tools and knowledge.
Forget the overloaded packs, expensive camping gear, and the never ending production of useless outdoor "essentials". Join me on my wilderness adventures where the frills are left behind and the outdoors are simply enjoyed.
I do not do gear reviews. I do not do product sponsorships. I am not an expert. Some activities I do can be dangerous. Replicating what you see me do could lead to dangerous situations that could put your health and safety at risk. Viewers be warned.
I don’t know how you can sleep in that environment, here in the Southern Alps of the South Island of New Zealand I would have at least put a door and a chimney on it! However Great job! Good luck! We love you Canadians!
When I was in the troubled teen industry "camp" someone actually taught me to dig a hole deep in the sand, build a raging fire maybe with stones in the pit, then eventually fill it back up, then sleep on a warm cozy bed in the desert cold night. Would this work here or is the ground too frozen?
Why didn't you cut some more green branches to cover the tree trunks to lessen the holes between the trunks. After all you used some for top layer of bed
Great channel❤, really good content, I know a channel from a hunter in Russia, called Охота с лайками, guy doing a similar job but hunting also bears, moose, geese and doing it with the help of four huskies, in Siberia, you can do a RU-vid translation to get it, I am sure you would love it.
So...I just figured out after watching dozens of these videos. He walks to the spot for the camera, then walks away and walks right back at the camera haha. I so smart.
Being out there alone is a good way to clear your mind and your soul it does wonders for a man I'm 63 years old and that's all I did my whole life my five daughters and three sons and 29 grandchildren but my five daughters and three sons were raised in the woods camping for weeks at a time PS and Justin Trudeau is destroying Canada come on Canadian brother sister take back your country from the terrorist Within as American people and president Trump were taken back our country from the terrorists Within
I remember when it was about -30 out and I was trying to sleep. The heat in the house was keeping it at 70 but didn't feel like it. Then the wife rolled over and took all the blankets. I miss her....
Check out the Spyderco Double Stuff. It's a bit larger and the leather case is large enough to use both sides as a strop making the overall size smaller than your current setup while offering a little more versatility. Paired with the puck, you get 4 levels of sharpener plus two strops. That should eliminate those stone marks on your knife blade.
