I was scolling and saw this, Jarrod is FANTASTIC!! I raised my children in Oral, SD where he's from and carpooled to work with his mom! I got to meet him and get his autograph...he's a very kind young man...I moved back to Oklahoma and I HAD to tell the man that I've loved forever, just how much....we're a couple now 2 years later and I've never regretted telling him
Straight men shouldn't be playing gay men. There are plenty of gay actors who can't find work. You wouldn't have a white person play a black person. If there aren't any gay actors to chose from who are well known and can bring in the ticket sales, that's an issue with the system. That means there aren't enough roles where they will cast gay men. And my god, what is with Hughes hand over his neck and chest all the time? I find this absolutely disturbing. It's unbelievable, and would never be allowed in 2023. What a way to degrade an already marginalized group of people.
It meant SO much to me in my high school years that Hugh did this show - homophobia in my high school was strong, and to most boys at the time Wolverine represented everything "manly" in the traditional sense. But then he did this.
I went to see Peter Allen in the mid 1980s at Ontario Place in Toronto. I knew nothing about him other than this song. It was a great show. I had no idea that I would move to Melbourne in the 2000s and end up this show in Aussie.
Lyrics! I'll dance and I'll sing. I'll do anything Just to get my name in lights I've got to try to hit the heights Now that I'm free as a breeze again Old nimble knees again And soon they'll all know my name I'll have fortune and fame When I get my name in lights It can happen overnight in these modern times So hold that front page This boy was born to strut the stage I tap and sing and play the pianuh Splash my name across a big bright bannuh And that's why I won't let go 'til I'm on radio And when they come to see the sights That'll be my name spelt right lighting up Times Square I'll sit on a flagpole Whatever's the rage Just to get my picture on the front page Just to get my name in lights So hold that front page This boy was born to strut the stage I tap and sing and play the pianuh Splash his name across a big bright bannuh And soon they'll all know his name He'll have fortune and fame When he gets his name in lights That'll be his name spelt right Lighting up Times Square Just to get his name Just to get his name Just to get his name in lights Just to get my name in lights
Once you have seen one of these Andrew Lloyd Webber or Sondheim type shows, you really have seen them all. All the same cliches for sad old ladies living in the past.
Hugh Jackman, the completely talentless hack, crappy ness of cinematic and fucked singing, if there ever was a lesser performance I'd like to see it , Boo!
I meet Peter Allen when I was a schoolgirl and the Allen Brothers were just starting out. He was charismatic and very critical of his own performance. I have been a lifetime fan every since. I regret never seeing “The Boy from Oz” on Broadway.
