Thank you! It works better to work with overlays when you have Xref inside Xref that are used in the main layout as Xref too. Thanks for the explanation!
Just tried your tip in AutoCAD LT 2025, It's a little different now. Copy, enter, Mode (0 Zero) enter, Array (A) enter, Number of items, Displacement enter.
thank you, this helped me so much understanding the differences, i have dwgs that reference the same xrefs many times i found it helpful to attach the first set i need in everything, and then overlayed anything else that contained the original xref so i dont have multiple xrefs with the same information inside them
Good night sir. I have a problem in Infraworks where i imported 3D File from 3ds Max to Infraworks and configurated, Infraworks can not procces it because some error after i entered coordinate X and Y. How can i fix it?
How old is it? After some time, I have found these files may age out simply because the coding of the software has evolved. Every 2 or 3 years I rebuild and update my CUI.
I have to put my lines for example on layer 0 then gotta make it block, then move my block into my desired layer. so it can be seen on layout right? when i put block with lines, inside the layer ( grass for example ) then i go inside my block moving again all my lines into Grass layer, it didnt showed on the layout
Sorry for the late reply here. I've been out. I'm unsure what you're attempting to do, but you shouldn't have to go inside you're block and move the lines to the Grass layer. Draw the lines on layer 0, make those lines a block, place the block on the Grass layer, they colors, on, off, freeze, thaw, from there. If the block should move to another layer the color of the lines will absorb the layer's color.
@@j-porter Create a block of your choice for the Point Marker Style. Name it accordingly for the new marker. Go into point style pick and existing marker save it to a new point style name Select marker in the dialog box select use Autocad BLOCK symbol for marker, find the name of the marker block created, apply and ok. New marker will display for the custom point label style created.
@@cutter3011 Oh, yes! Sorry. I thought you meant a label style. I totally agree with your method. I must add that I rarely create those blocks on layers simply because I place the point marker style on it's own layer. Thanks for the input.
Sounds like a corrupt file or software. Did you try it in a new drawing? Are you using the newer software? If so, try the DDINSERT command instead to bring up the old INSERT dialog box. The new one must process a lot, and the more blocks you have in a drawing, then the more it has to process. If none of these work, then try running a repair your software.
@@j-porter sir I am using AutoCAD 2021 crack version and it's totally good not an old or something actually when I type insert I get 2 option with same name 1 is showing error and other is doing the same thing u told but it is not that much useful for me bc it takes time sir i want to know something else in AutoCAD if u can help me and if u know about that it is about plugin I want to add for fast work
@@Mr.kingpatel What is a "crack" version of AutoCAD? Did you try creating this in a new drawing? If it works in a new, blank drawing, then the other drawing may be corrupt. As far as plugins go. . . there are hundreds of plugins out there. Some legit, some not. Just make sure you do some research and verify the company who provides the plugin is legit.
Try upgrading your Infraworks. Remember, there really isn't a version of Infraworks. It's a live software that needs to be updated to the latest and greatest to work properly. Even though you may not be using 2025 software, I would still advise to go into your Autodesk account and download the latest version. Whatever you export out of Infraworks should work with any version of Civil 3D.
I'm not sure if you can modify the right-click button. However, if you have a multi-button mouse you can modify the other buttons: help.autodesk.com/view/ACDLT/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-14CE592B-E8AC-4E9C-BCAE-8AD0F7BA25B5
This is basically the ONLY thing I do with the mapping tools in C3D. But I always have to check a reference because I do it so infrequently. Thanks for the clear and concise walk-through. Thumbs up and a Subscribe for your efforts. Cheers.
There is no "new layer vp". However there is a "new vp freeze" and "new layer". I'm assuming you're talking about those???? The "new layer" creates a new layer. The "new vp freeze" creates a new layer that will be frozen in any new viewports automatically. You can thaw if needed later. Hope this helps.
is there a difference between the .arg file or profile vs the cuix file, workspace file? i have acad lt 2011 at work, and there is no profile tab under options.
The .arg profile controls your settings in your options dialog box (folder preset, display settings, etc.). The CUIX controls your workspace settings (ribbon buttons, toolbars, etc.). It's been awhile, but I believe AutoCAD LT does not have the ability to save a profile (arg).
@@robwinemiller9712 Yes, I've got some CUI's that I've been using for years. With that said, remember, if a button has been added or removed that may not always reflect in the CUI transfer.
It's a matter of preference. I prefer to use mostly overlay just to ensure I don't have any circular references. If you're not going to xref the 2nd drawing into a 3rd then attach is just fine.
Im using C3D 2023. When I perform the query to extract the elevation data, there's no window prompt for the Define Query of Attached Drawing. Instead the I'm executing the query on the command line. Do I need to change C3D version?
No, it should work in 2023. Sounds to me like your command dialog boxes may not be appearing. Try typing in CMDDIA at the command line and set the value to 1.
You seriously saved me MONTHS of headache. Been trying to figure this out on my own for 3 upgrades of AutoCAD so far, always get so frustrated and re-build my work space. THANK YOU!!!!
Is the data in SHP file format? If so, did the SHP file come to you with other files? A full SHP file will be the SHP file along with a PRJ file, an IDX file, a DBF and sometimes an SBN file, an SBX file, or a CPG file. If you don't have the these then the software has a difficult time geolocating the data (using the PRJ file) and providing the object data information (using the DBF file). You can read more about it here: www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Required-files-that-make-up-a-shapefile.html
hello im using faro scanner to capture the pointcloud and there is no classification option on the C3D, do you have another way to resolve that pointcloud? thank you so much
I'm sorry. I'm not an expert with scanners so I don't know how to classify the points within a scanner. However, I do believe there is a way to do so in the Faro scanner. I only say that because I've received data from a Faro scanner in the past. So, to answer your question . . .I don't know of any other way at this time. My apologies.
Idea for a vid is great, but I still can't get it. I have my block on layer1, moved it to layer2, but if I freeze layer1 (block IS on layer2) it disappear!! Why?
It's all in how the block was created. You said you have a block on layer one, but if you go into the block editor you'll see the layer that the lines reside. My guess is that the lines within the block are on layer 1.
tqvm i also have problem about it. i will try. but it to long step. I also have problem, when i click the contour line after mapimport, my laptop will hang....
