Thank you SO much for this video! I really was not having much issue and then fast forward a year and I started using my Cricut more trying to cut the very same design with the same materials and all I got was a mess for letters mostly on one particular glitter vinyl. Same brand as others that worked well before. I changed blades, changed settings....no change. So I bought new name brand glitter vinyl and I now have glitter all in my Cricut and in the housing and it didn't cut through after 5 passes and increased pressure! Well known store says they have had no complaints. My lettering really is NOT that small and not nearly as intricate as I see all over RU-vid cutting and weeding beautifully! This should not be happening. It seems to have started when Cricut changed Design Spac e which now won't work on two of my three computers. But probably coincidence. I have a whole box of blades that look just like yours but a different brand I guess, came 40 in the box. How do you know if they are for "fine" cuts? I thought the yellow was fine, red deeper and blue for deep cut? The original blade still cuts better than the new ones. I am getting SO discouraged. About to order a NEW housing with "fine cut blades" and hope this helps. I am subscribing, you addressed the problem so much better than all the other videos I have found on the subject. I look forward to more like this one!!!
Thank you, your video was very informative, I need to be able to scan a model kits decal sheet, and create stencils for spraying at the exact size is it possible with the Cricut and what program would you recommend, any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the support. This is possible to do in cricut design space. It's an old tutorial and design space has changed a bit but this might help you out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-62bWC_SHTB8.htmlsi=3_Q7LWLT483gtwna
I think you finally helped me solve my problem with replacing old dollhouse windows, which have been missing for years. I didn’t want to replace them with any ordinary windows. TFS! 😊
thank you for the clear neat video, I still have an issue though, in your video, 8:54 minutes in, you can see the attach button inactive, that's what i'm facing right now, its not cutting into the position i need and its not allowing me to attach. Looking forward to know the trick to fix this tiny issue, thank you.
Thanks for the comment. It's difficult to say without seeing your screen. I would check you haven't grouped these items together as you'll need to ungroup before attaching. You also need to select more than one layer to attach them. I hope this helps!
Well,, I started using my Maker this morning with the rotary scoring blade and it worked fine. Shut the machine down for a while, but when I went back and started "trying" to work on a major project, the carriage holding the blades and scoring too got stuck over on the right side and wouldn't move. I tried several things to no avail, so I contacted support, only to be cut off and so far no return call. So, I went about trying to figure out more for myself. Turned out that the tip had fallen off the rotary tool. 🙄. Did managed to retrieve it and tried again, but no luck. Kept getting the error message. Swapped out one tip of the tool for another, thinking that maybe the one that fell off had somehow been damaged. But the other tip wasn't being detected either. I tried so many things that I'm ready to tear my hair out! 🤣. At this point, I don't know if the tip has been damaged or the machine has been damaged. 🤷♀ I don't want to order an new rotary scoring blade set only to find out it's the machine.
In the last month, I've heard of a few people with tool detection issues caused by the latest software update. Might be worth giving cricut support a call.
Thank you Madame, I want to try and make something to start selling and have been terrified (the size is tiny, supposed to fit on keychains, but I’m not sure if I should do lettering or not)
It's definitely possible to do tiny lettering for a Keychain. I have a tutorial on my channel. I would recommend putting uv resin over the top to ensure the vinyl doesn't lift if you're going to sell them. Good luck!
No, you don't use transfer tape with iron on. You'd press each layer one at a time. Sorry I don't have a video to share but there should be some on RU-vid.
Thank you so much. My letters kept lifting and sliding on the paper backed vinyl. Then I found your video and just pulled the vinyl off the paper and put it on a plastic sheet protector before cutting and it didn't slide a bit and I could weed easily. I also made the weeding squares around each line which also made weeding so much easier.
You can layer with whatever material you like, permanent vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, even cardstock. Any material where you want different colours layered on top. If you use HTV then it will need to be mirrored, especially if you add text.
Ok, NOBODY ever states if you can print out on the papers from any epson print ??? I have a Epson 7800 large format canvas printer , A 3880 photo printer and an Epson workforce 7840 office printer ??? Any of these work ??? I am wanting to print out my artwork making it wearable ???
You can use printable inkjet or laser jet heat transfer vinyl but it's still effectively made of paper so will eventually wash off. If you want long lasting, go with a sublimation printer or use layered heat transfer vinyl.
I LOVE the miniature pelmet/box valance you made in this video. It's exactly the sort of pelmet I want to make for my room box project, which is 1:12 scale. I don't have a Cricut machine though, so could you possibly let me know what the measurements are for the pelmet and curtains. Thank you so much. I think I'll save up to buy a Cricut, I didn't realise it could do so many different things. Lots of love from Amanda Jones in Australia
Thanks for the support. It's a bit difficult to give measurements because it depends on the size of the windows on your individual dollhouse. I'd recommend downloading cricut design space so you can view the project, each shape and the measurements in there. You don't need a Cricut to create a design space account so should be able to view the project and adjust the size according to your dollhouse Window dimensions, just make sure you follow the video instructions for resizing.
I just cut the blinds and I just want to say thank you so much for everything I really don't have a lot of extra money to spare but I love my miniature dollhouse and you just made me love it even more thank you for being so giving
I'm assuming you mean foam sheets, they're notoriously difficult to cut and I've only had success using the rotary blade, unfortunately it doesn't cut tiny fonts. You could try adding a thicker offset to it to see if it helps.
Good to hear! I'd definitely suggest buying some htvront vinyl if you haven't used it already. I never have issues with intricate cuts using that brand. Good luck! 🤞
The fine debossing tool will not detect in my Cricut maker 3. This is the second genuine part purchased from Spotlight and still not working. I have tried all trouble shooting, calling the helpline and still not working. The helpline couldn't figure it out, so they suggested the item was faulty and exchange for another embossing tip, which I did, and still doesn't work. Could the machine be faulty?
Quite a few people have reported tool detection issues since the last cricut design space update. I would contact cricut again and let them know that the issue persists and other users have reported this problem. If you're still under warranty, they should replace the machine as it's not working as advertised. Good luck!
