Thank you so much. I could not figure out for the life of me why it couldn't detect my blade. Turns out it was exactly what you said about the knife blade calibration. I selected chipboard after having gotten my deep cut point and didn't understand that the maker was looking for an entirely different blade. Thank you for clearing that part up specifically.
Doh, I totally was using the rotary blade, and not looking at it closely 🙄 Sure enough, the 01 was loose in the bottom of my caddy, and the 02 was in the casing! 🙃 Thank you x
Thank you so much - I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my cricut couldn't detect the blade - I was worried I broke my machine by using the engraving tip... turns out the machine was trying to find the deep cut blade instead of the fine point blade.
Well,, I started using my Maker this morning with the rotary scoring blade and it worked fine. Shut the machine down for a while, but when I went back and started "trying" to work on a major project, the carriage holding the blades and scoring too got stuck over on the right side and wouldn't move. I tried several things to no avail, so I contacted support, only to be cut off and so far no return call. So, I went about trying to figure out more for myself. Turned out that the tip had fallen off the rotary tool. 🙄. Did managed to retrieve it and tried again, but no luck. Kept getting the error message. Swapped out one tip of the tool for another, thinking that maybe the one that fell off had somehow been damaged. But the other tip wasn't being detected either. I tried so many things that I'm ready to tear my hair out! 🤣. At this point, I don't know if the tip has been damaged or the machine has been damaged. 🤷♀ I don't want to order an new rotary scoring blade set only to find out it's the machine.
In the last month, I've heard of a few people with tool detection issues caused by the latest software update. Might be worth giving cricut support a call.
The fine debossing tool will not detect in my Cricut maker 3. This is the second genuine part purchased from Spotlight and still not working. I have tried all trouble shooting, calling the helpline and still not working. The helpline couldn't figure it out, so they suggested the item was faulty and exchange for another embossing tip, which I did, and still doesn't work. Could the machine be faulty?
Quite a few people have reported tool detection issues since the last cricut design space update. I would contact cricut again and let them know that the issue persists and other users have reported this problem. If you're still under warranty, they should replace the machine as it's not working as advertised. Good luck!
Hi Sean, if you've tried all the troubleshooting shown in the video and you're not using a third party tool, I recommend giving cricut support a call. There have been reports of users not being able to use genuine cricut tools so they should be able to resolve this for you.
The Fine Point blade on my new Cricut Maker 3 didn't cut through the practice Removable Smart Vinyl on initial setup, it scored the vinyl. I tried twice with no luck, so tried to calibrate the blade and got the 'blade not detected' message, so now I know why. P.S. the swearing didn't help either! I bought heaps of vinyl today so will try to get the blade to cut with Smart Vinyl.
I was just doing the same to my smart vinyl over the weekend haha It's just so difficult to work with. Try the smart shimmer vinyl with more pressure, seemed to work OK for me
Hi - This is exactly what happened to me during initial setup. Did you ever get this machine to work or did you have to return it for a new one? Just bought my cricut maker 3 and during testing it won't cut all the letters or completely misses it. Does this for every material as well. During set up it does not ask if it worked or not, it just says testing complete. This is not a very well thought out software/hardware combo for the price tag. Feeling like a $150 machine, not $400!
I'm going to reply to myself because I fixed this issue. During setup, it scratched and pulled off the Vinyl. After that it was not cutting all the letters, not cutting the dot in the letter i etc., etc., - The fix is to pack everything up return it and get a new one before you can't return it anymore. Don't waste your time troublehshooting. Everything should work right out of the box especially during the setup! Buy from Bestbuy because they have a good return policy. I exchanged for a brand new one with Bestbuy no problem. Michaels and Joann's if you open you can't return have to call Cricut to resolve. Imagine buying this, it broke out of the box and you can't return and have to deal with cricut support!? My new one I exchanged works flawlessly. That's how you fix.
You can't calibrate the fine point blade. Calibration is used to improve cut alignment and the fine point blade doesn't have this issue. I guess the question is, what are you trying to achieve by caljbraging the fine point blade?
@Itsy Bitsy Build I thought it was. I bought it last year and just never used it. I know the scoring stylus is cricut and that just rips my paper and doesn't work either. 😝 I might buy another wheel, just expensive!
@@starlacreationsco1550 the third party brands can be really convincing copies. It might be why you're having issues. Alternative you could contact cricut support and see if they can help.
