My name is Dino Evangelista and I am The Lawn Shark. Why did I start this channel? For starters, because it's not gonna mow itself! The Lawn Shark Channel is about growing the absolute best lawn and cultivating the best landscape I possibly can. Join me on this journey and let me know if you have any questions along the way.
I live in Franklin, TN just south of Nashville with my wife and kids.
Happy 4th!! Love that, it looks so beautiful! What type of spray paint did you use and did you make those star templates or purchase them? I would love to do something like this for all holidays and to support my teams!
I used TzoneSE last month 6/3 for creeping charlie and it worked but now i have some not a lot nutsedge(neighbor's is full). Can i use sledgehammer this month? I should the whole lawn rt just like i did with Tzone.? Thanks
I use a strainer when pouring Humic 12 into the hose-end canister and that does help with the clogging. Speaking of Humic 12, this year I started mixing in Humic 12 (1 oz per gal) with common anti-fungal product to pour at the base of my 16 roses. Did this 3 times in 3 months and I've had the best success this year fighting rose fungus. I'm thinking it helped with the uptake of the anti-fungal liquid product, and overall nutrients as well.
This was really great information. It explained a lot about what to use for which fungus. And, why to rotate them. But, I have something in my yard that is a bright yellow/orange color scattered through out, no particular pattern to it. I first thought it was poa dying out but it doesn't appear to be that. I am trying to identify and work on what to use.
Glad it was helpful overall. If what you have is a weed, I use an app called "PictureThis" and it does an excellent job of identifying things for me. If it's a fungus, i would put the description in Google and see what kicks out.
Brother, you need to wear/use proper PPE when applying fungicides. Most folks don't realize how dangerous these chemicals are, but leaving skin exposed, and not wearing a mask is a very, very bad idea. I've been a lawn care provider for 10+ years now, and fungicides can actually be even more dangerous than herbicides when coming in contact with skin or being breathed in, etc.
I cant get rid of nutsedge and sedgehammer killed all the surrounding lawn where i sprayed AND LOW AND BEHOLD, THE NUTSEDGE IS GROWING BACK!!! This only 3rd time in 15-years heatwave we're having just killed off nearly all the lawn i just grew in beautifully this spring.......NICE HUH?!?! Im half dead and broke from all of this and im seriously considering not giving a crap anymore and just not doing anything anymore and just let it all turn to weeds!! None of this crap does anything but kill your grass, believing any of this is "selective" is like believing in a selective hand-grenade😢
Much respect, been following your videos for a couple of years and you have always taken responsibility for actions that did not go the way that you hoped. Question: Do you have any advice to get rid of nut sedge in Liriope, without harming the Liriope? I also have a a large patch of Dallisgrass invading the Bermuda, open to any recommendations for it too, as I have not been able to find anything at the big box stores for Dallisgrass?
Thanks so much for the comment and being a loyal viewer. I am not sure what would work for the lirope. I would think that the Sedgehammer may damage it. Maybe check with Domyown.com and see if they have any recommendations. As for Dallisgrass in Bermuda, you may have to hand pull it. Everything that kills it without harming the Bermuda is crazy expensive! I am at the point in the season where I am just hand-pulling any weeds I see each night. Let me know what you find out.
I appreciate this video even more because of the mistake. It teaches all of us a lesson in reading labels, but puts it into perspective as well. It’s just grass and we (along with the grass) will recover. What fan tip did you use? I like how it sprayed.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. I used a TeeJet 110 degree tip. Nothing special. In hindsight I should have used something more direct where I could have targeted the weeds individually and not affected the overall Bermuda as much.
@@CCCC-tq8yo That's because Bermuda's structure is green on top with a brown stalk. If you want to keep it at 3in, then you need to cut it down to 2 1/2in and then bring it back up to 3in and it will stay green. You'll need to do this at least once a year to maintain all green.
Should we till in our compost first and then use the power rake to get things level? Then when we go inch below the sidewalk do we have to level the whole area to the same height.
You can till if you want, but it will most likely settle unevenly over time. I like putting the compost on top and let it work it's way down on it's own. The sod comes with about an inch of soil so you shouldn't need to level. Hope this helps.
For the most part it's a sealed system and little bit that is opened won't let anything big in. Any small particles should make it through the sprinkler heads, but if a head gets clogged, just remove it and clean and/or replace.
i thought t-zone wasnt safe for Bermuda? only reason I ask, is because I was going to buy this and then read somewhere not to use on bermuda. i have a hybrid bermuda, that Tif 419 and was just curious if your familiar with that? I'm in Texas btw.
It's recommended for only dormant Bermuda. I used it recently on my actively growing Bermuda and there was quite a bit of turf injury. It will recover, but it looks pretty rough at the moment.
I was getting frustrated.. not anymore, now I’m chuckling 🤭 😂 I’m not alone!! Dropping something somewhere along the way….wondering where did my day go..
