Commenting to boost engagement cause this deserves it :) thank you so much! Vid is a great example of why I think Blender would be a great tool to teach seemingly abstract and overwhelming math. Helps you visualize things that sound scary like p-norms and vector operations and ground them in reality. You're a great teacher!

I had to do a lot of pausing like a loooooot of pausing, but in the end I got it. It might have been easier just to list all the nodes that we needed to have added them all in off to the side and then built the node itself. But hey in the end it works and you're going to get a another like on this video from me anyways so all's good lol.

Great tutorial, it is really informative. Unfortunately, as a beginner I am having trouble replicating this in version 4.2 as the glitch object material settings are now different . Is there a way to set up the material initially in a similar manner to version 3.xx ?
@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios 17 дней назад
Thanks! I have not explored too deep in 4.2 yet, so I am unsure of the exact caveats that need to be dealt with to get the same effect. However, I will very soon take a look at it and try to find a similar method for 4.2, using eevee next. Once I figure it out, I will definitely release a tutorial for you all as well :)

Nice video, but I use Blender 4.2 and I don't see the "blend mode" option. According to this, the replacement is "render method". So how do I change the material to "alpha hashed?" since I can't activate that light on the symbol.
@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios 17 дней назад
Hi, Thanks! I haven't yet explored version 4.2 in much depth yet, so it would be hard for me to give you the exact solution right now. However, I believe that you won't have to change the material to alpha hashed anymore as transparency should be available to materials by default in 4.2

did you finished the engineering course (Visualising Engineering Math? where do I find?
@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios 17 дней назад
Hi, I completed teaching the course at the university that hired me for it. However, I never ended up converting it from live lectures to videos for youtube. I really wanted to do it and it IS still on my list of courses to make, however, if I do successfully get to creating the course for youtube, it will be released by the end of the year (or early next year). I intend to use another channel called "deayan academy", where I will make multiple engineering-level courses on robotics, electronics, math, etc. When I release my first set of courses, I will mention it in a few videos, so hopefully, it will not be too easy to miss. Until then, this is the channel: ru-vid.com/show-UCXwhZ3CobVetR2VVlmBK9Fg (there is nothing on it yet, the Profile picture and everything will be changed real soon, however, in case you don't want to miss the upload of these courses, it will be on this channel, so you can keep notifications for this channel on if you want to).

If you're trying to use an image as a material, you would most likely need to "UV unwrap" the mesh that you created, in order to be able to map the image correctly to the mesh that you created.

When I press shift nothing happens what do I do pls
@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios 17 дней назад
Can you tell me which part of the tutorial you're stuck in? I can guide you accordingly. pressing just shift does not do anything. You would have to be using a combination of shift+D or shift+click, etc etc. So I can tell you based on which part of the tutorial it is. Apart from that, incase you are pressing shift+something and it is not working the same way it is in the video, you could try enabling "Node Wrangler" add on from the edit->preferences->add ons menu.

Thanks for the tutorial. Although i did everything the same but in my world the light beam is not visible. Do you have any idea how to solve it. By the way i am using version 4.2
@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios 17 дней назад
Thanks! I still have not been exploring version 4.2 (with eevee next) as much, however, I don't see a reason for the light beam to not show up even in 4.2. Potential things you could try is brightening up the spot lamp (make the power very high) and if that does not work, try to increase the density of the world volume scatter. A combination of these two things should create the light beam, even in 4.2

This is pretty cool, but setting this up can become very tedious if you want to have much more objects reacting to smaller portions of the audio frequency. I'd love to know if there's a better way to set this up and even automate it to split frequencies evenly between my objects.
@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios 17 дней назад
Thanks! There definitely should be ways to automate this process somewhere out there, but I don't think I've come across any yet. I'll definitely take a look and if I ever do find a nicer way to automate this, I will definitely create a tutorial about it :)

It looks quite interesting, but can anybody tell me some creative use case? Am I stupid?
@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios 17 дней назад
Thanks! Honestly, I feel like the use cases are only limited by one's imagination. However, the most common use case is where we allow the scene to be lit by an HDRI, while having the actual background be just a solid color. Works great for things like greenscreens videos. Apart from that, using the other options, you can remove certain reflections, which usually would be used for artistic preferences. However, I will soon maybe make a video where I just practically use all of the different options to create stylistic renders. Hopefully uploading that will give a few ideas on how else this node can be used :)

Hello ! Thanks for the super clear and thorough explanation, I've been looking across the internet for such a thing and this one I finally understood ! I am working on a 3D model for a game, and I'd like to have spheres of slightly different sizes moving around randomly inside a delimited space (one sphere per space). Considering that I'd need hundreds of them, I'm looking for a more parcimonious way to do this than copy/paste each object. Would you know of a way to do this based on your technique ? Thx !
@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios 17 дней назад
Hi, thank you so much! If I understood your requirement correctly, you can try distributing points in a volume and then merging by distance (all in geometry nodes), to ensue that there is a minimum gap between any two spheres. However, this gives much lesser control over how many spheres you have. Once you're done with the points distribution, you can apply the geo node modifier. However, this will not ensure any future overlap during the random motion.

@deayanstudios
@deayanstudios Месяц назад
This definitely works until version 4.1 and I don't see any reason for it to not work.om 4.2 either. If you're getting a gradient white circle, there's definitely some node connection that has either been disconnected or skipped during the tutorial. You can always send a screenshot of the node set up to deayanstudios on Instagram and I'll try to figure out where you're going wrong.
