mitch chakour taught me this 30 plus years ago. he calls it the 1-2, 1-2-3. it also works as you go up each individual string. 1-2, skip 2 frets, 1-2-3, skip 2 frets, 1-2
I’m self taught so I can play the 3 level system and 1-3 pentatonic positions with absolute ease but I truly have no idea about those basic chords you played at the beginning 😂😂
Hello Cecil, your jazz lessons are really great. Could you give me some information about your Telecaster guitar? Is it a Fender body? What is the model of your neck pickup? Thank you 🙏
Yes .. this is true .. but it’s also like saying the alphabet is all you need to write poetry . Please , this is click bait for anybody wanting to live a life of music .
You are playing lower pitched octaves in the harmonics moving higher up the neck with your stumming hand. I think that's why it's sounds softer. Not you specifically, just anyone playing that.
Most people overlook the genius of the Young brothers ability to make music that was both simple and complex at the same time and still be relevant 40+ years later. Malcolm was truly the driving force of the greatest rock band ever. Rock In Peace Mal.....and tell Bon we said hi.....\m/
That's a bad way to move around the fretboard because it locks you into one way of movement and doesn't show you any of the other scale tones besides the ones in the pattern. You gotta just learn the scales in every position and be able to move between the positions freely. Even more important is just being able to visualize them. The whole fingerboard can be mapped out. That's something my intermediate guitar students can spend time learning. The pattern in the video is fine for a beginner to get them playing scales but it's not even better than a 3 per string pattern, at least that would start them with knowing one position fully.. I've seen other videos this dude makes and they're of similar quality. This is why you need a real teacher and not RU-vid videos. This dudes basically just saying this worked for him and he thinks he's qualified to call it advanced. He's a hack
