Don't want to be a party pooper but this is a dangerous place for the uninitiated. Rescue teams are regularly called out for injured walkers and two dogs have died there in recent years. 😒
I proposed to my wife Aug 2004 atop McRaes Peak right after it became socked in with fog. Talking about a surreal moment. She said YES and it became a very emotional journey back down in the fog. Still married to the same wonderful lady.

No worries! It’s a pretty straightforward trail with fixed ropes in the icy places. I prefer the winter because of decreased traffic, but be aware of the signs in the parking area of when you need to return. Call the park office and double check the day before so that you can get an early start that will give you enough time on the trail.
The route is pretty straight forward on this trail to Chasm lake. You can't tell in the video but its super visible basically the whole way. The only part that isn't, is right before chasm lake when you climb up boulders. but you basically just go straight up one boulder at a time and you get there no matter which way.
Hello, Very nice video! I am planning to visit these falls soon. I would like to know if microspikes are really required when hiking on the ice area of these falls? I have waterproof winter hiking boots but not sure if microspikes are needed or not. I dont have any microspikes currently and if they are not really required then would not want to rush buying those just for this one hike but can you still let me know? Also, how much total time is required to complete this trail? Will be helpful to know.. Thank you! R.
