for one im skipping op08, none of those leader are worth playing, lucci and law dominate the meta and when op09 comes with black beard the game ist gonna change in way that we dont even know yet, so im taking a few months to rest my wallet from this game. ig i like what the games looks like in op09 ill come back.
Im torn between goku black/zamasu being two best decks in format. I sort of think it dependa if zamasu lands into late game or not. However, i think you have a great takes on this. Yellow is more relevant and stronfer than people realize
Love the List! I’ve been running something very similar but I was running 3 Top stages instead of the Shin. The Shin looks very cool, I might have to try it out at locals.
It’s way stronger than TOP in my opinion. Like putting it down on turn two with energy and making it 30k crit is nasty. Also it’s 30k on awaken, and better yet 10k combo.
Super informative video! Just asking, I feel like I am struggling a lot vs the green decks, especially Uta and Yamato. Any advice and what I could be doing to win vs these matchups?
Like the list very much! I opt in two ceberus, because my locals are very Yamato and Katakuri heavy and its insane how much value the doggy has in this match ups! Sadly thats his only use. I will go on with Gecko since I kinda burned out of Saka. Black's just at a really nice spot right now! Thanks for your list and all the explanations :) Hopefully Smoker will have a comeback sometime! Loved the first time black came into this game.
I owe everyone at my locals a Nod. I have been a black player since this game and I found each other. I absolutely love cost reduction into removal. My locals stepped up and put me into a position to get me this deck, max rarity. I owe them everything. That shiney cardboard is as much there as it is mine.
Yes but with a high control focus on clearing their board. Reiju plus sacchi n penguin will hurt a lot. Starving their resources and swarming the board to answer their board is key. If you can remove their cards before they get attack value, it will be worth it, and you eventually win. The matchup is Hard if the law player is good.
I built a gecko moria deck, i think this is the one i will use in first major tournaments initially. Combos and play are fun, just knowing when to apply them correctly. I find often when testing to run out of cards from hand quite fast (because of leader ability or if the opponent uses the starve strategy either directly or indirectly like only hitting at your characters (e.g. Perona)). It would be great to hear the match up especially against yellow (Yamato, Enel, Katakuri) or green (Perona)
love your videos, i find you to be one of the most informative people for this game honestly, got moria put together myself struggling to decide if i want rebecca in the deck or not since she can retrieve brook from trash if necessary lol. look forward to more updates on this deck from you.
the new saka leader opens desing space for discard value navy cards. a 1/1000 coby blocker that can be played when discarted becomes a more realistic card now with the new saka.
I’m playing a similar deck with chopper and more kaidos, if you have a zoro, you can kaido, lose 5 don, have 1 if at 10 or use Pluffy skill to get 1, swing with zoro, chopper and you only went down 3 don and next turn you can kaido again. I run a lot more strawhats in my deck.
Great video my brother. Very in line with my own views. Really appreciate you talking about Leader bans. Too many people are in the mindset that they shouldn't ban leaders, but man, some of them are definitely overtuned. Kata, Saka, Enel, Zoro, Uta are all way too good.
How important is the SRC Goku? I want to run a red deck, specifically Beerus but only really missing that card. Also how do you feel about the celebrations promo 2 cost Goku in this deck. KO’s cards under 10k power. Have what I need to build green but red sounds cooler to me. Also play Red in OP
SCR at 2 only. Goku is near but bad due to no combo. It’s a legendary problem in red. This build focuses on reducing that problem and maximum resource denial.
Without houndsblaze how does Saka deal with Magellan or Perospero on curve? It’s going to be so painful… I don’t understand the need for the bans because like you said a leader is overhyped and there’s high representation due to that. The meta seems really healthy. Anyways appreciate your thoughts as always brother, super insightful.
on the 10lin argument: maybe yellow doesnt have to be able to deal with every single card, maybe a 8kid and solid strategy should be enough to win a game and droping multiple 10lins is a shitty way cheap out an undeserved win. i dunno maybe. otherwise katakusi just doesnt have counters in the meta and a cheats every other leader an even color.
I mean it does depend. Multiple 10 lins can feel like cheating. It’s the leader coupled with her that’s kinda a problem for me. But Kid I won’t agree is weaker than her. He just warps the game. And Kata lost Asia Nats to UTA going to zero sitting behind the kid. It was stupid and every game I play it that it isn’t outed it’s a problem.

the hit to green is because they want other decks in green to shine after the hits on other colors. if this list hit without the gohan errata green gohan stood to be the top deck again like it was last set and no other green deck comes close. now if they were to print another valid green deck its not immediately outclassed by gohan. and they didnt hit trunksgeta at the last worlds it won because it wasnt the problem deck that worlds was crimson dominate 8 decks 4 crimson 4 decks made to beat crimson
It still won worlds. It doesn’t matter at all that there was another problem. Besides not only did it beat that problem. Crimson as a deck was 3 months old in that iteration and time of the deck. Trunksgeta had had several wins, tops for multiple formats and won worlds. The deck shoulda been axed on the spot.

Around my way a lot of new people is playing it for sure tho and my masters guys I play with still 85/15 (no/yes) on it, but will more than likely do some split content on it , in the comparison since to start off if anything and first impressions, because got a handful of people scorn by the abrupt announcement... but I will overall save any deep analysis of it until the end of the year where we have more numbers to follow.
@@tcgdiscussions2413 In particularly I liked advises on critical game play and strategy on Perona don8, do not swing with any characters to play around a potential 10c doffy or when Uta(film) is at 7/8 don , next turn potential kid... one need to be ready to deal with (e.g. with Gecko have a ice age and gecko moria)... or how to deal with bege (go wide and maybe hitting one life at a time and ready to deal with any triggers) : Would be great to explore key strategical game play (theory + sim to demonstrate): I m asking some work from 🙂 ... see it as a suggestion, it could also be commenting on real time game play .
Definitely agree that the Meta as it is doesn't really need bans, or more that the bans that will be made are likely to be excessive. Way I see it is that backlist isn't about balance so much as it is a tool to improve player experience and drive new sales. Competive players will play whatever they need to to win, it's the casual players who lose to their third Saka at locals who the banlist benefits. I'm real interested to see how heavy or lite handed Bandai is and if this actually sticks. Great vid.
Why don’t you run 3c jack instead of zorojuro? Its an on play free don with a discard instead of waiting til the next turn which against sakazuki zoro wont even get a chance to activate effect
IMO, they should keep boat and cabiji banned. Restrict Rebecca to 1. Ban Bege (not a healthy card) Ban 10c big mom the new 10c ace will replace as the new boss monster for yellow but at least it’s not searchable.
I think that none of those things should happen. I’d rather see Katakuri the leader banned then see big mom go. lol other big mom pirates decks and future ones will need her.
7 Luffy into law, into Mihawk , into brook, into Nami or ussop or Uta. For a total 19. You could law into something else again at the brook. To extend it to 21. But that’s 8 don for 19 don worth, spam 4 cards and you can spend 9 just to flex a more inefficient don use that achieves the same board. But yeah broken.
Congrats to Yonss , I took Enel to the nats . Had some bad matchup luck . I played 4 pluffy . Went 2-2 against it. 3 of the 4 pluffy’s saw double Magellan . Over all I had some great games tho . Wish the tournament was run better the delays , the multiple re-pairs , the sudden end instead of playing round 11 really was a mess. The whole thing was disorganized and could have been handled significantly better.
I have said it and I’ll say it again. Magellan is the only card that does anything for it. I honestly hate the card. It’s uninteractive and 3 colors can’t do anything but take a hit from removing it late game through attacks or removal. It’s a cancer card
