Allyn I’m core aerating today and was wondering how soon the stress blend will get to me if I order it today? Is there a way to pay for express shipping?
Is it too late to do this now. I feel like Bermuda grass began to get out of control in my backyard. The st Augustine is still there , but it is a whole lot of Bermuda everywhere and I don’t like it.
Can you try this mix out on some St Aug with intruding centipede grass? Neither herbicide lists it as safe for centipede but neither claim to control centipede either so I’m wondering if it’ll knock out the centipede that’s also in my lawn. I’ll do it myself eventually if I can ever find a place with re-cognition in stock…
Any ideas if this would be a good protocol to kill off hybrid Bermuda mixed with other random grasses, and how soon before a reseed is possible? Thank you!
its funny all the people who are gonna be tipping over their gas mowers like this or using an angle grinder with no face protection, gloves and no side handle
You won't know if it works until next season. You always have been able to control Bermuda but not kill it to where it never comes back. Kill and control are 2 different things
Recognition product label Section 5.2 “Use Precautions” states that Provista and Captiva St.Aug are more sensitive to injury from Recognition and should not be applied unless turf injury can be tolerated. FYI to those with Provista St.Aug. Recognition is shown to be safe on Floratam, Raleigh, Palmetto, and SunClipse.
An important point not sure was mentioned is that the purpose of Recognition is a "safener" to protect the St Aug from the Fusilade II. The Fusilade II is what is killing the bermuda.
yes that's a good call out. One of the other bonuses of using Recognition is it does kill clover, nutsedge, dollar weed and kyllinga - all of which infest lawns on the west coast of FL. It's really a good combination weed control all around.
Do you ever worry about the sheer amount of chemicals you spray on your lawn/lawns? I always second guess myself and end up just doing what I can by hand in worry of the potential long term effects. I stress my kids who 99% of the time are playing outside are not always wearing shoes here in FL. Love the channel tho dude! Gimme more of that BAHIAAAAAAAA vids!
it's a give and take type situation for sure. One thing's for sure, I do my best to follow the label when it comes to re-entry periods and such. Here is a blog post where I went into detail: thelawncarenut.com/blogs/news/are-lawn-chemicals-safe
I'm not sure on that one - here is the page that contains multiple PDFs you can download to learn about the combinations they recommend. I didn't notice if centipede was listed or not when I was doing my research. www.greencastonline.com/products/recognition-herbicide/turf
Did my first application last fall out by the street and it worked well. Did my second about three weeks ago along the driveway where I have had issues for years.. Waiting for results. I love being able to attack this problem. Thanks for bring this solution to us yard fert folks. Really glad I got my fusilade 2 and recognition last year. You are right it is much harder to attain now.
Any torpedo grass in there get affected this time around? Took your advice and avoided buying the mix for my torpedo grass in st aug problem last year, but still living with it.
I did not have any torpedo visible when I did the app so I didn't get to test it. I'll for sure do another test on another property and see how it does
Sure would be nice if we could find recognition!!!!! I have been waiting since last year when you first talked about this combo. I have never once seen it in stock. Anywhere.
@@Thelawncarenut You must be a psychic....! After I made the comment I started thinking I hadn't looked in the last few weeks. Pulled up Site One and and lo and behold, it was in stock. Rode over there today and got a bottle. Not bad price either. A decent amount cheaper than a large 'do it yourself' website that sells a lot of these chems.
