I feel as of late, the Gen-Z is sort of in the mom jeans era and I hope they hope they get out of it. I loved the L01, and L17, as L17 is still one of my favorite jackets. The only jacket i'm seriously considering is perhaps the Lewis Leather Lightning Jacket, I honestly think that is one of the best looking jackets I really want.
Can I be offered a clarification on the size and the color on ysl jodhpur boots because different people offer different opinions, I think the confusion starts with the person making the video if the person making a video has a slim feet he would recommend you to get half size down and second person making a video with a wide feet would say get the size you normally wear, while mytheresa on their site they say they recommend you get one size down they are also not specific on the type of feet they are referring to,so it would be nice if guys like you and others clarifies this according to the shape of the feet of the person making a video,can atleast measurements of the boots from the length and the width of the sole be also given on your specific boots. Second confusion on the ysl jodhpur boots is the color name -so is it light tobacco & light cigar one and the same thing?
Nice vid analysis on Saint Laurent. I personally own a lamb skin Slimane era Celine biker jacket and just love it. But I think both are equally awesome.
its too short, on some guys in the vid it looks like a bolero jacket, i with i had kept my 2 biker jackets from when i was a teenager, they looked better than this one and were more my style, even though they were double breasted they had a strap collar which i much prefer, they also didnt have the belt they had 2 buckles on either side, very hard to find this style now, having said that i recently bought a really soft lamb skin biker jacket, i am going to get the collar altered into a strap and itll be very nice, got to be careful with lamb skin though its delicate
Levis Trucker III is a very slim fit - Wrangler has a much looser fit, GAP 1969 is also looser, Lee is about the same (I have all four). I dislike Levis (except their STOCK TRUCKER JACKET which has a relaxed fit - I also have that). Further Levis have shorter body and longer arms which, if you are NOT slim, the Levis Type III is a very poor fit. There are no short-ish slightly overweight cowboys apparently. Just my 0.02c worth.
AG Jeans love them best in the world for me their jacket is beautiful. my wife just got a LIU JO denim trucker jacket with animal print lining absolutely gorgeous .
Great video. I owned 5 SLP leather jacket, and all of them are awsome quality. But really sad to see the quality of SL's leather jacket being downgraded since 2021, seems like they start to use lower quality leather to cut down production cost, eventhough the price is increasing. If anyone who interest in this jacket, I highly recommend buy older model, benfore 2019 or during Hedi's era (13-16)
Agreed, however I have owned 6 L01's over a span of 5 years (I keep selling them then rebuying them) all from Hedi era and found that my most recent pickup from 2017 calf to be better in terms of durability. The Lambskin jackets look amazing but scratch and tear so easily. Shame for the price. I have found calfskin to be the way to go.
@@JoblessJoshuathey definitely dont wear as well. Lots of creasing and abrasions that happen quite easily and make you rather paranoid when wearing it. The calf version does not have that problem as much and looks great! Only downside is that it's heavier and feels more on par with a real leather jacket vs a designer piece.
@@garylinemeck233 I just bought a 2020 calf l01 and I feel like I regret the purchase because its not the earlier versions. This jacket looks thinner than the 2015-2017 and looks like a plastic dried cracked texture. Nothing like a smooth calf or smooth lambskin. I haven't received this jacket yet so I dont know if its bad, but I feel regret now. I'm also looking to find a smooth calf l01, that looks like lambskin but its calf, is there any combinations like that? I can only find l17's in smooth calf, or tea core "vintage" l01's which I don't like
Unfortunately From The First jacket doesn’t exist 😂. Speaking from someone who has tried to purchase it myself, I challenge anyone to find any actual real reviews/in hand of the jacket
Do you take a larger size than normal for the L01? I tried the usual medium but could barely zip it up and almost had to hold my breath! seems like yours is a similar slim fit but not sure its worth having a few thousand on a jacket that cant be closed comfortably?
who closes their leather jacket? lol. never seen anyone do it, they're meant to be worn open unless you're riding, in which case, this is not the jacket for you

These ones are leather so not waterproof unfortunately. They can handle a little bit of water (from winter snow etc) as long as you wipe them down after, similar to how you would care for a leather boot.

Do I see correctly you cannot close that jacked? Kinda ridiculous value for money. Why not getting a jacket between the Schott and this…The RealMcCoys, the Flathead, finecreek leathers to name a few. I guess I know the answer…because that tiny square label is more important than the actual craftsmanship;)
I don't like it, it looks like a cross zip that is confused either want to be british lewis leather lightning or american schott perfecto, and thus lacks the appeal of both because it misses things that make those design works, on lightning the sleeve pocket and the waist buckles help to make it look rockstar, and in perfecto the slant chest pocket and dangling belts make the cool biker look, while this jacket choose coin pockets that adds nothing to the coolness as homage to both designs and deleting elements that make those jacket cool, and paper thin epaulette that is positioned too high up on the shoulder doesn't help either
Great comment. Very well said. Some of the appeal might be brand loyalty, some is Hedi fandom, and many people do actually like the L01 design. It’s a polarizing item though, a real love/hate! Definitely can’t beat the Schott perfecto design though, it will always be the original.
IMO Tom Ford Icon Jacket is the best, its proportions are exactly like Saint Laurent L01 biker jacket (very cropped, about 59cm back length), but with a lot of room around shoulders and arms in general, like its SLP fit for someone who lifts. I'm now wandering how TF Biker Jacket compares against L01
Just checked out the Tom Ford Icon jacket. Looks good! It looks a little closer in style to the Schott Perfecto. We like the smooth version of the Icon better than the rugged one.
Dope vid as usual, I got mine - a OAK NYC L01 Alternative, sadly the brand is no more but I scored the awesome clean lined, cow hide black leather jacket thanks to them! Would def recommend anyone here to look at grailed if they find the same it is a very suitable alt in terms of design & quality. However, the L01 will be GOAT 🐐
Hey man thanks! The Oak NYC jackets look good - checked some out on Grailed. And yes REISS always has good jackets, usually decent alts to the higher end labels but always with a bit of a different spin. Gonna check out their leather biker
@@RadialTV great!! I have an OAK NYC one that aged really well 5 years later - if you want cowhide is NY & lambskin is LA Rider, they also made a coat type longer one I might want at some later point - sad that the brand did not make it!
Too many fakes are being made and the additional panels shows the jacket it’s not worth $$$ I have had many YsL things and boots have a fake heel like women heel hollow heel I would take a Schott 626vn or 613s any day over this
Schott’s always win, they are one of the originals! The fake YSLs are quite a bit of a step down in quality but are also a fraction of the price. We would buy a Story et Fall or From The First any day over a fake/rep
@@RadialTVNo they longer have the black label line I was able to find one on eBay. It was originally $5,500 it's beautiful. Bro g was o to StoryETFall and they make a LO1. It's $550 and it's lamb leather made in Italy. The LO1 and story Et Fall leathers come from the same factory. You can thank me later
@@RadialTVI was lucky I found a black label jacket on eBay Ralph Lauren cancelled the black label line due to it being to expensive and it going on sale. Story Et Fall makes a LO1 jacket in Italy the leathers come from the same leather tannery as Saint Laurent they also make boots as well.

Hey, thanks! Goldblum definitely wears the lambskin version of the Saint Laurent L01. You can tell the leather is more smooth and shiny than the calf leather. Negan’s jacket is pretty unique but you could check out Schott for some high quality jackets that might pull off a similar look.

Shoulders have to fit right. would definitely recommend trying it on to make sure the shoulders aren’t too big. Fit is very personal to you and affects how you feel and look in the jacket.
Immaculate design yes, immaculate quality? A million miles from that. These are actually very low quality if the price is taken into account. FW13 pairs actually had a cemented construction which is of course laughable at this price point. Later seasons were supposedly blake stiched. Sometimes they used rubber heel blocks disguised as real stacked leather. Check Trenton & Heath channel, they repaired a pair and commented on the poor quality. Anyway, I guess you're paying for the design which can be called a contemporary classic already.
The quality of the ones we tried were pretty good. Worth the full retail price? Maybe not, but that’s subjective. If you love the design that’s worth something too.
