Haha. In my mind, you did that shot in one take. 😂. Thanks for the video man. Your channel and illegally downloading videos are one of the few reasons I stay on RU-vid
This is genius. My wife runs my sons small kids channel (@vlogventureswithjj) and spends hours editing fairly simple kids videos on top of her normal 9-5 and momming. It is a ton of work and I can't imagine what it will be like when you start getting to the level you are getting to.
I don’t agree with the concept of doing work for ‘exposure’ because that’s just free work. This borders along the same line, but also if you’re paid for a review I’d imagine the company would expect a favorable opinion. So in being paid for a ‘review’ it’s less a review and becomes more of a promotion. There definitely should be a middle ground though. That’s a lot of work to go into a video for a product review, to only be compensated with said product, which you weren’t even necessarily interested in to begin with. I’d say whichever party does the initial reaching out for a collaboration should be the one to have the less favorable side of the deal, as they’re the ones looking for something. If you reached out to a company and said you would do a review for some free product, it changes the terms of the arrangement.
Jeremy Clarkson had a column in the Sunday Times about how taking money for reviews can diminish the value of a review, for the fact that instead of the end user getting a genuine unbiased opinion, they get content that has been purchased and vetted by the seller- there may be something to be said for a really nerdy degreaser deep dive video, scientifically testing a few options head to head. If the people trying to sell product don’t want to pay, make the’ fight to see if a certain product stands above the rest, or if it’s all the same shit and you should buy whatever’s cheapest. I reckon there’s more value to a viewer in that anyway
getting caught up on videos and had to start with my new favorite channel, cleetus who? I really admire what you're doing on here bud, the Fiero content makes me chuckle bc I remember high school Bryan and this thing tooling around haha. How are you liking your quick jacks? I just got a pair I need to get around to setting them up. Keep up the great work bro and congrats!!
Thanks dude! Having lots of fun with the Fiero. Been a while since I had a project car. Quickjacks are clutch but so heavy to set up. I don’t have a garage so I have to set up/break down every time I use them. If you have a garage just leave it all connected and scoot out of the way
Ive ordered a shoei nxr2/rs1400(?) Ive got a thin neck and x spirit just blew my ears out. I get so much turbulence that ive now got permabent tinitus, used earplugs to
What kinda cars are allowed in each class however? Is it solely based on mods? Would excessive mods put a basic car up against something supercar level? Can any car compete? Are there restrictions? Could i say fully build a car and put downpipes nos etc and fit in a class or would i have to use specific cars and only certain mods? Theres not a lot of info on all of this
A lot of answers to your questions can be found in Appendix A of the SCCA Solo Rulebook. It lists all the allowed vehicles and what sub-class, or PAX-class they fall in. There’s a class for pretty much anything - even home built formula cars! Lots of specific questions though, best bet is to peruse the Solo Rules for answers
I do miss my freedom before my son, but let me tell you I'll never regret it watching a mini you grow up is literally insane... And when they run to you arms open it's the best feeling on earth
You were moving out there! Maybe next year they'll have you pull the trailer to slow you down. 😂 Edit: I just realized you caught me turning around in the pits like the goober I am.
Awesome! Hope you had fun! Tire pressure is dependent on so many factors; tire, suspension, alignment, driving style, vehicle weight, ambient temp, and much more! If you’re new to AutoX you’re likely on stock or all-season tires. These don’t have the sidewall stiffness of a competition tire to handle low pressures so I’d usually recommend 38-40psi to keep the tire from rolling over onto the sidewall. Other than that, work on you. Drivermod is the single biggest variable in AutoX and a ton of seat time with good instruction is where you’ll find the most time! If you’re on or near Long Island, you should consider coming out to an NYR SCCA event!
@@CountersteerGarage thank you! And it’s a bit of a drive out there I’ve looked into driving at met life for there contests. But it’s a full show/track/drift car of mine running Toyo R1R on 17x9 wheels I just felt like the tires maybe weren’t gripping enough or my alignment was a hair off but figured tire pressure could be a big factor in gripping for the power transfer
@Brianhopp973 it’s got a lot to do with DriverMod too. There’s no absolute level of grip a car or setup or tire pressures can have - different drivers can manipulate the platform in different ways to achieve the desired results. My recommendation would be to not mod another thing on the car until you’ve got some decent seat time and instruction
The way to keep it clean is to have a mandatory 3-6 month inventory of what you have and go through it. Or just stop buys toys but that ain't gonna happen haha
im ok with it just press and slide up. also bought some knock off lens its not as smooth as the original when flipping and locking it, but for the price its negligeable.
I think that would be a lot more work and honestly not sure if the cover would clear the valvetrain on removal with the space allowed. Personally I don’t think I’d try it with the engine in the car.
I recommend to put a piece of cloth (old shirt or something in the gap betwenn the engine and the chasis, under the working area of the spark plugs. it make the recovery process with the magnet easier, and remember to retrieve it after the job is done!!!! it may cause a fire if you forget to do it.
Thinking you needed to do some general tune up work prior to making exhaust, but good job doing what you did. A couple of observations, first it looks like you are missing your donut gasket which adds to the "not so good" sound of the exhaust. Second, if you were to invest in a bottle of C25, you would have a better end result with your welds vs using flux core wire.
All the tune up work has been done, just have ignition timing to do, which has to be done in gear, on the brakes, on the ground. So I did the exhaust to finish off the engine, brakes and suspension being done soon, THEN I can properly set timing. It’s all part of the plan but I appreciate the advice
Not sure why you think that the suspension and brakes need to be performed first prior to setting the timing. Setting the timing has NOTHING to do with suspension, brakes, or the car being on the ground. Literally the car would be in Park if an Auto or in Neutral if a Manual. Timing is NOT set with the car in gear. Whomever told you that is NOT correct. If you are getting this info from a Fiero service manual or the sticker under the hood, again this info is NOT correct. Feel free to ask any ASE Certified Mechanic. If that was the case, then how would you set timing on a manual vehicle...common sense is not common.
Sir, you’re speaking to an ASE certified auto technician and I promise you ASE certs don’t mean jack shit lol are you saying that the original equipment sticker, the owners manual and the repair manual are all wrong and a random commenter on RU-vid is the only correct answer? I think you need to check yourself lol
Timing needs to be set with the car running , in reverse, while on a 5⁰ incline facing south east, and the sun in the 3rd quadrant, and the phase of the moon is waning.
Which engine is in your car? The 2.8 V6 should not be sounding like that lol. My v6 with a very similar setup sounds awesome. Even my wife likes how it sounds. I can post a clip of it if you want but if thats the v6 you might not be firing on all 6
@@CountersteerGarage ah yeah, fix the ignition issues and that thing is going to sound awesome! One thing at a time for sure but that exhaust setup is going to be fine once the rest is sorted. I am excited to follow your progress on the car
At 4:54 mice and small critters get in the rear trunk, door, and cabin. I mouse proofed my Fiero GT using 1/4 steel mesh. Alternator/Coil Cooling Fan (Passenger Side behind Rear Trunk Carpet) Remove Fan and place 1/4 inch mesh over opening. Cooling Tube to Alternator/Coil: Wrap outlets with 1/4 inch mesh and Hose Clamp in place. IAT Sensor Wires (on the Air Cleaner): Cover with Stainless Steel Braid, Zip Tie Ends closed. Doors: New Dew Wipes (tuck steel wool into gaps during winter storage): Fill gaps at bottom of Doors Frames to Door Body panels with 1/4 inch mesh and 5 minute epoxy. Do not block completely for water drainage. Wiper Tray: 1/4 inch mesh under the plastic screens over all openings. Front Trunk Latch: 1/4 inch mesh around latch area. Wiper Tray Drains (lead down from Wiper Tray to under car): 1/4 mesh over openings. This is the way mice work their way into the cabin, up these drains, into the Wiper Tray, then into the vent system, and into the cabin. You MUST remove the Cabin Ventilation Fan and remove any nesting inside that area... the Fan speed resistors are open wire resistors that will start a fire if you run the Cabin Fan and nests are present. Winter Storage: Plug all 4 exhaust ports with Stainless Steel scrubing pads (Dollar Tree), fold two pads to make a bigger one (sort of like rolling two socks together).
Under my 88 formula today here in sunny NH....redone brake cals, new radiator, trans cool lines, etc. She sat u red a tarp in the dry for 10 yrs , new battery and has she started right away! It's a street legal death cart, I also "just wanna drive it" and take it from there....Wish each other luck!
