I've had an XHDATA D-808 for a number of years now. Initially bought for an aborted trip to Dubai for airband. Knowing how hot they are with scanners, this is an wolf in sheep's clothing so to speak. Found that it's excellent on all bands, not tried LW to be honest. Listening to HF was surprised to pick up Gander controller coming through loud and clear on 5649mhz one morning a month ago. Compatible with my old Sony 2001D and somewhat more portable. The airband is pretty good which is primarily why I bought it for.
Hi, this has been occurring for some years. It's an unknown French troll which is foing after hams having a conversation. Usually they ignore him and keep talking. Often there are clips of old French movies included in his shouting.
Internet over FM will work like HD Radio protocol , is not gonna be very fast but enough for internet radio and other stuff over internet because many people still using 56Kbt dial-Up internet and it is enough for them .
I have a problem with my bf dr1801, I do the programming process, I go to print out the device to program it in the device and after restarting, the radio station itself still has channels and frequencies that are factory ones, does anyone know what the problem is? it does everything as it should, without any error, but it simply doesn't have those frequencies that I typed in and wanted to transfer to the station.
I got my Dx-286 this week and am blown away by the search sensitivity and the sound of the speaker when on FM. It’s teeny weeney tiny but packed full of features. I’ve come across one or two glitches in the software but I’m not as yet confident to call them out publicly. I wonder if it’s undateable through that microphone usb? One clear winner in your comparison…the DX-286 👍
This device is a piece of visual art. The fact that a DSP portable is probably on the same level when it comes to reception is hilarious, but its appearance and overall user experience are unparalleled, of course. Among recent cheap portables, in terms of appearance, I can only think of the HRD-757 with green backlight (sold at ~ 55:-) - although the display us not inverted like in the R8B. The keypad - in the Panda 6208, probably (or ATS-909). So, as a whole, there's no analogue among portables.
The pronunciation of Qodosen (according to another website) is Chudosen or Choodosen. Oh,well. I bought the Dx 286 on July 5, 2024 for $80.00 USD. Online reviews from Jay Allen and Todderbert convinced me to buy it. It's rather amazing to hear the improvement using the automotive chip, given all of the adjustable settings. Great video.
I am just sitting here going through your FRG-8800 videos trying to decide what colour LEDs to fit in the backlight. Yellow or amber looks the best so far.
Hi I just bought this Radio shack DX-394 when you move the knob from stand by to am how do you get it to show up on your display I can get the Lw MW SW to show up on. The display but not am I don't even have a manual as I bought it off Ebay so I need a bit of help
This is just a cheap entry level DMR radio. You cannot upload a single contact with the cps. You have to manually enter every contact's information into the software. Why not allow for OpenGD77? Unless some hero at Baofeng engineers a powerful firmware to add 500,000 DMR contacts, then this is a loser. Don't buy. I would return, but I threw out the box. Most uninspiring DMR radio I've yet to see. KN6ZFM☹
Kinda funny how everyone gets 2 free radios not just 1, not quite sure why that is, bit of a head scratcher tbh. I have the SR-286, very happy with it so wont be getting the DX-286. Looking forward to more new exciting radio products from this new company. I agree with another comment here that USB-C would've been the way to go.
The audio was muddy on the one I had. With the little speaker I expected nice crisp audio. But it seems they EQ'd it for more bass than the speaker and housing were designed for. My PL600 & 330 sound much better.
Micro-USB is a failure (every other TEF6686-based receiver comes with Type-C, 2A minimum, as it requires a large battery), but everything else appears to be the pinnacle of modern radio engineering. ✨ The packaging looks professional too; even if it adds a few pounds to the total price, a good first impression matters. Looking forward to seeing the next video. 👍🏻
@@KevinOReillyswl It did. Thank you. I bought the 2022 edition today. I wish Panasonic would resurrect the RF-3100. I still have a few of my QSL cards from the mid-80s.
