Fishing ROCKS is a RU-vid fishing channel, hosted by Matt Lewis (All round angler) Based in Cardiff/Wales. Fishing all across the uk. Fly, coarse, sea, beach, lure, LRF, catfish, carp and pike. All for fun with an absolute passion for everything fishing.
Nice little film, and I like the rig lowdown. Next time ditch the treble and go barbless single. They’re easier to catch and release. I’ll be surprised if that fish survived, blood pouring out???
Just moved to llangattock on the canal it’s very muddy looking at the moment what kind of lure would you recommend and where would you recommend I start having an explore
I'm wearing stocking foot waders (which are like waders with a sock/ rather than a boot built into the waders) and wading boots which you wear over the wading socks. Thanks for watching Brian, tight lines 🎣👍🏻
That was what I call an excellent piece of fishing several times I thought it would have broken free as you were reeling it in that was a lovely sized bass which put up one hell of a scrap a beautiful fish well done to you and to the passers by for their assistance
Thanks for the video. Never managed to catch anything on the Surf Seeker lures so do they work best on a straight retrieve or to add some twitches ? Tight lines
Thanks for watching. On that particular beach it's a straight steady retrieve as it is snaggy as hell. If I'm fishing over a cleaner bottom I mix it up, pausing and twitching, speeding up and slowing down. Do you have some seeker's to try, if so good luck and let me know how you get on, Thanks again for watching, Tight lines 🎣👍🏻
Here in cornwall i catch alsorts on isp seekers . Best has to be the white pearl and the blue one by day . Black pearl by night is deadly in moonlight . Tight lines pal
I usually have more luck at high, but I have had the odd fish at low too, Thanks for watching Dan, if you give it a go let me know how you get on, Tight lines dude 🎣👍🏻
Got exact same seeker like you, and i never caught anything on it in croatia. I even contacted Markos Vidalis and asked him how to retrieve the lure, and he said that i should not even try. He said that he does not remembers if he ever caught seabass on the seeker or any spoon like lure. He also said that our mditerranean seabass is different than those of the northern seas
I feel there work better in rough or choppy conditions. They are usually a blank saver for me. If all else fails, stick on a seeker. Thanks for watching @jure
@@fishingrocks4119 I know they should work then, cuz they make lot of vibration wich helps seabass hear it and find it. Same like jerkbaits, twitching in wild sea, straight retrieve in calm sea. But it does not work here, i cant wait to snag it somewhere so it doesnt buggs me out anymore haha
Nice man well done I don't have much luck with the seekers in tenby I'll try more often 🤙🎣 my favourite lure on south beach is the savage gear pencil lemon back 🤘🤘🤘🏴🏴🏴🏴
Thanks for watching David, I have the opposite experience to you, not much luck on the SG pencils but since you said I may give them another go . The SG seeker's are my blank savers usually. TC and tight lines 🎣👍🏻
Hey Richard, thanks so much for watching. And yes I love lure fishing for bass in summer and autumn, the Gower Is an awesome place to wet a line, thanks again for supporting the channel 😊🎣👍🏻
Helpful video for myself. Just moved to the area and mad on fishing. Would love to get some advice on certain areas to have a chuck about with a lure etc.
Thanks for watching Tom. I’m not from that area so my knowledge is limited, but feel free to hit me up anytime and I’d be happy to hopefully point you in the right direction, tight lines 🎣👍🏻
@@fishingrocks4119 oh mate 😖 you'd be wasting your time there. I found out that torfaen council are responsible for its upkeep but its still neglected to this day. Recently had a baby boy so will be out when my partner has recovered. She going through a bit of a rough patch. Looking forward to your next video though!👍
@@laketrotterfishing that’s sad to hear, there’s some cracking fish in there, guess you have to look for some more venues, look forward to the upcoming content, tightlines dude
Nice, always good to see the Silver beauties. Just a question regarding the lure. Have you found it gets damaged very easily? Even fishing the surf on sandy beaches with no rocks it still gets chipped.
Thanks for watching Richard. Yes I’ve found they get banged up pretty easy. Still catch on them tho. I do re sharpen the hooks before I use them. They go blunt pretty easy
Really well done that was extremely difficult and couldve gone pear shaped so many times!well done holding onto the ladder and rod and net-and fair play for putting it back as theres plenty that wouldve smacked it on the head.!
It was a bit scary, I’ve bought a new net now with a 5.5 m handle, never fish without it. I like to return all my fish, not really a huge fish eater. Thanks so much for watching. Much appreciated 🎣👍🏻
Well done, wish I could have had 3 lol. No I don’t live there, although I’d love to. Do you live Saundersfoot? Thanks for watching anyway, much appreciated, tight lines 🎣👍🏻
You are in my favourite part of the world there on the Pembrokeshire coast. Saundersfoot and neighbouring Tenby are just magnificent. I live in Australia but have lots of family in South and West Wales.
It is fun fishing there, hitting the marina again this weekend, You should give it a go sometime, let me know how you get on Thanks for watching Tight lines 🎣👍🏻
Brecon canal, postcode where I park is MTAA Brecon canal middle 69 B4558, Brecon LD3 7UY You do need a Merthyr Tydfil Angling Association permit to fish that stretch Tightlines 🎣👍🏻
Yea I've just started jig fishing so all the tips are great the only problems I'm getting is a lots off snags in the canal so I'll be trying drop shot next time I think , I bin fly fishing most of my life and thought id try something new , great videos meany thanks 👍
@@martinsnook9779 try fishing weedless using a texas or cheb weight, it can dramatically reduce the amount of tackle lost, there are loads of vids on RU-vid showing how to fish this method 🎣👍🏻
It used to be pay and display, only a pound or two all day, then during lockdown it was free, I don’t know if it is back to pay and display, not fished there in a little while. And no you don’t need a license as it’s classed as sea fishing, until you go further up river, good luck when you get out, let me know how you get on 😀🎣👍🏻
I've pay to fish cwmbran canal for the last 2 year but never fished it and no idea what part I can fish... It says from bridge 48 to 53 and 119 to 122..... Would you have any idea where that is?
I’m not entirely sure what stretch Cwmbran has, or if there is even a club anymore. I know a lot of Cwmbran is choked by weed now. Doesn’t look like it’s being looked after. At least the Cwmbran stretch. May be worth getting a canal trust wanderers permit, give you more options, or if you join Merthyr Tydfil Angling Alliance you can fish the same canal in the Brecon area, the fishing is quite good. Sorry I couldn’t help with exact bridge numbers. I’m sure there are maps online. Thanks very much for watching and tightlines to you 😀🎣👍🏻
