Hey! I absolutely love your work and I would like to say that you are a really skilled composer!! It truly gives me inspiration, as a 17 year old, to go and create my own work! I do have one question however: How do you usually aim to start composing a track? Would you start off by writing chords on a synthesizer? Or perhaps envision a feeling and try to replicate that specific sound? I’ve always struggled with creative blocks, not sure if you might have went through some with the Cyberpunk project. Have a good day, and thanks in advance !
Hey man. Thanks for kind words. There’s no real rule to how I start. Sometimes it’s a chord sequence, sometimes I discover a sound and go from there sometimes I hear everything in my head before I sit in front of the DAW. I would say that having a deadline is probably my biggest ally in fighting writers blocks. In CP2077 case specifically, I had a ton of recordings I did before writing cues. So I could always rely on this material. But above all, the most important thing is sitting down every day, for 8-10 hrs, to write. Nothing beats good routine.
Thank you. Your work at CPDR is amazing, Thronebreaker's OST is outstanding and deserves waaaaay more fame and praise than it got, it's one of the best video game OST I know of. And Phantom Liberty is great as well! I've been listening to your music on a regular basis for almost two years now. I could have said this under any other track of yours, but I chose this one because... it's just got that something I can't describe that perfectly fits the theme. Also, I wonder, what's the instrument playing in the background at 3:10 and 3:19? Is that the violin?
Thank you magean, it means a lot! The part you refer to has sampled strings playing the background melody (the sparser one with more held notes). The more foreground thing is played by a prepared violin (some mutes plus tuned down a whole step) and acoustic guitar tuned DADFAD.
This party is everything I ever wanted. Your music is insanely good I listen to it every day. The atmosphere and tension📈 My Phantom Liberty Vinyl is running hot
Now that Phantom Liberty is done, it would be really cool if a compilation like the Breath Of The Wild soundtrack would come out, featuring all of these incredible unreleased tracks. I'm obsessed with Cyberpunk's music, but I have to admit, I'm growing weary of trying to sift through all of the raw music data and putting them together in FL Studio. lol
@@p.t.adamczyk1310 I can totally see why. Hahaha! But damn, that would be amazing. On a side note, did you put together the music for the Cassel Twins? I'm talking about the roulette and car high-jacking missions. I'm a big electronic music fan, and I spotted that wobbly low-frequency synth in there, which sounds very similar to the one that Mike Foyle used in "Blue". Such a cool sound. ;)
Well, dunno how that would work. I usually just spend a lot of time with one instrument and record a lot. It's not like I hear it first and then I make a patch. It's a process of reaction and discovery .
Thank you for answering. Actually, I would be grateful for any tutorial video you make, because the Cyberpunk OST is very nice and I have been listening to it for years and trying to remake it myself. I watched a few videos published by you and CD RED PROJECT, they are all beautiful. In fact, yesterday I tried to recreate the chorus part of your music called I'm a Netrunner. Just knowing the libraries you use would be awesome.@@p.t.adamczyk1310
@@Karabanka well, during the entire cyberpunk 2077 + phantom liberty production I used very few regular libraries, and never for the lead sounds, or general foreground materials. Those usually came from one of my synths + tons of processing. As for the choir - I recorded the ladies from Tulia live.
The engineering in your music is truly amazing. The FXs, sound designs, and vocals are great. So, are there any Kontakt libraries you can recommend? Believe me, I have many questions in my mind that I want to ask you. :)@@p.t.adamczyk1310
