That's actually a reenactement of a real event that occured during the crusades. The guru of the ashashin's sect sent two random of his men to jump from towers of his castle, warning his attacker that he had 70 000 more of those in reserve
I wonder if the People Eater's look to Furiosa as he scoops up the sand is a hint of camaraderie. Like her surviving her ordeal to warn them has them looking at her more as Imperator than Praetorian and he's sharing the cathartic "We're about to bury this bastard" gesture.
There was an excellent version of this comedy, but with all the jokes removed. JR Ewing could speak Russian, but that in itself was not a basis for comedy. I think it was called Safety Fail or some such similar title. It started with a dream about a bullfight, but even that wasn't funny. I probably prefer the funny one, although perhaps I prefer the serious one. It is a fraught issue.
Mutually assured destruction or MAD , ironic don’t you think . If a film summed up everything that’s crazy about our world watch this , Kubrick was just brilliant and Sellars should have got an Oscar.
The one thing that broke the suspension of disbelief for me was Furiosa building the prosthetic arm on her own It would've been more convincing if she saw someone with an advanced prosthetic limb, so this person showed her how it worked, and then helped her to build the arm
The prosthetic arm was already on the wheelchair .... She was already used as some mechanic on the war rig, She perfected only the arm with the grinder and such by adding things. But yes .... I do think you are right in a way as the Organic Mechanic did help her in some way. Yet in a way everybody she was close with already died and de O.M. did treath humans as just parts or mechanical things like the one in labor.
I love how apparently this is set not just after 1 apocalyptic war, but basically after a series of armageddon level wars. It genuinely makes it feel it is set at the end of the world.
I like to think that the History Man was telling all of this to children at the Citadel long after Furiosa took over. Notice how he said "my dears" which may refer to a class of children who he is telling the story to.
