the rear camera does give you the choice pf 3 different views which is pretty good and all zrv trims include both front and rear parking sensors as well
BMW lost its way when its solution to every problem became more boost. It’s now the choice of all the WRX owners who got real jobs, but kept the vape pen.
I think it's safer than you give it credit for, but it's nowhere near as safe as a real car. Being a quadricycle, this vehicle is closer to a four-wheeled bicycle than a car, so it doesn't have to follow the same safety guidelines as cars. Micro says it's engineered to be stiffer and safer than the rules dictate.
It might need only ~2.7l of petrol per 100km, but on top of that it uses ~30kwh of electricity, so what you save on gas you pay in electricity. Don't really see the point unless you either don't have to pay one of the sources.
I wish Honda brought this to the US. Instead, they decided to give us (1) a regular hybrid variant, and (2) a hydrogen fuel-cell variant. The second variant makes absolutely no sense since we don’t prioritize hydrogen as a primary fuel source. At the same time, nerfing the PHEV CRV to only be FWD is such a missed opportunity, when we get AWD with Mitsubishi’s Outlander PHEV, Toyota’s RAV4 Prime, Jeep’s Grand Cherokee 4xe, and Kia’s Sportage PHEV. Speaking as a Honda Clarity PHEV owner btw.
The hydrogen variant is being sold just because Honda can and has the technology-they wanted a follow-up for the Clarity FCV, I guess. I think you're better off with the all-wheel drive hybrid TBH. I wouldn't pick the FWD-only PHEV over it even with the electric-only range that it offers. The hybrid is a better, easier car to use and it's still remarkably efficient. What is the Clarity PHEV like? I've never known anybody who drives one. Thank you for your comment!
Cinste tie, domnule! Never have I ever found a fellow romanian as equally obsessed with speaking actually good english as I am, rivaling the vocabulary and capacity to convey meaning of a native speaker. Praise deserved for not only taking what you do seriously and doing it extremely well, but also serving as public contradiction to the default image of the dimwitted/lazy/ignorant/disgracious romanian. Absolutely fantastic. Finding your channel felt like a "faith in humanity restored" kinda' moment. I'm probably actually going to buy this car btw.
Haha, mulțumesc mult, chiar m-au bucurat cuvintele tale! And the car is great, you will not go wrong if you buy one, but be prepared for high maintenance and repair bills.
It's not really a hybrid. It's just a regular gas car with a different kind of alternator/starter that also gives you a bit of an acceleration boost. It's fun TBH. I'd love to try a Ghibli diesel, though. I bet it's awesome (I love diesels).
MERICA here! Damn! Got rear-ended by a Jeep! Slammed the breaks but got pushed right into the F-150! (assuming legs are still intact...) I've got a Jeep up my rear and my door is wedged under the Ford truck's bumper! This thing has one door! How do I get out? (soft top sunroof! ahh! make sure the vehicle comes with that!) Its really cute. Looks like lots of fun. Just maybe have your affairs in order if any of these make it to that MERICA! I caught that its designed for Euro roads.
Valid point you make there, Chris. Being a quadricycle, this vehicle is closer to a four-wheeled bicycle than a car, so it doesn't have to follow the same safety guidelines as cars. Micro says it's engineered to be stiffer and safer than the rules dictate, but it still doesn't compare to a car. Your scenario would mean you can't get out of the single front door, but you can pull yourself out through the (standard) sunroof or one of the side windows (although the latter might be a bit of a squeeze). The only way this would ever be brought to America would be for it to be completely re-engineered with airbags and more thought put into safety or just as a neighborhood electric vehicle with a top speed of 25 mph.
Thank you for watching, Kevin, happy you liked it! Yes, a lot of work goes into these videos, but I'm still doing it for fun and enjoying the whole process. Let's see how long that lasts me :)
Perfect little run around. I think they will sell a lot of these in the UK. I'd say they would be popular with older folks but despite having a big front door it looks awkward to get in and out of for people who are not as supple anymore?
Yeah, it should be reasonably popular even if based on its design and nostalgia alone. Access into the driver’s seat is not the easiest given that the steering wheel doesn’t lift out of the way with the front door, so you first have to get into the passenger’s seat then shuffle to the side, but other than this it should be fine for older folks. Climbing aboard is a cinch.
It’s not powerful enough with the four-cylinder to compare it to the Boxster. The underpowered 1.9 liter engine is a big reason why I compared it to an MX-5. It’s still a lot of fun whichever engine it has, though…
@@deni2s Yeah, I'm seriously considering getting a Z3 with a six-cylinder. I've been doing a lot of reading on it since I drove it. I really liked it, even with a four-pot.
Such a relief to hear somebody speaking really good english who is not American reviewing 510 hp QV which almost nobody buys or British with the steering wheel on the wrong side. Good job and greetings from Bulgaria!
Thanks for watching, neighbor! Yeah, I agree there are not enough non-QV reviews out there. I'm trying to get a gasoline Giulia Veloce to review next :D
My tailgate signal comes on in my dashboard sayings it’s open even then I knows it’s closed and locked. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this issue ?
Imagine if Mazda put this CX-5, paired with a larger battery....say around 25kwh. Could get 100-120 km (plenty of range), rarely needing the rotary generator. Still, the wankel is a bit of a hard sell for many people
I can't stand people who compare a Miata to a Z3. The Miata is the Dollar Tree version of a Z3. A Z3 will blow the doors off a Miata in straight lines and cornering. Is all around more fun and has more charm than a Miata
@@OneTireFire it's not an opinion. Unlike you I've actually raced both against each other and owned both. Didn't see you racing against any Miata's in this video. Out-performing another vehicle isn't an opinion it's factual.
My parents (still with us) owned an Isetta in the early 1960's. It had a 1 cylinder engine and could go about 45 mph . Nice little car, but it did not match up with their risk profile once us kids came along. :)
I'm going to buy one of these. But I have no way to A/C charge (live in a condo in the States) and I don't think that I could stand that whining noise. Hey, it's not all bad . . . I just saved eighteen grand 😅.
I don't think it's legal in the US and I don't think it will ever make it across the pond. And yes, the noise does get on your nerves after a while... especially if you go for a long drive in it.
Yeah, and that made climbing into the driver's seat in the Isetta much easier than in this or the Heinkel. However, aside from the fact that the Microlino has a fixed steering column, its design owes everything to the Isetta.
if only it had a hundred mile electric only range and the petrol engine was in the back so you dont hear it, oh yes the 2014 bmw i3 rex.....yes you sure can hear that wanker engine...
Yeah, it's got what it takes to be a worthy rival to the Germans. Drives better than an X3/X5 too... And I've been seeing quite a few of them out on the road, so it seems to be a commercial success too.
Physical buttons are the best. However, if there's one manufacturer that got touchscreens right in cars, it's Tesla. I have a review of the new Model 3 coming up and I talk more about this topic in the video.
I just got mine and I must say the car looks even more gorgeous than you think when you see it in videos. I really feel different from other car owners. They all have cars that look like one another, and my car is one of a kind, comfortable, beautiful shape. I just love it.
Cheers, thanks for watching! Yeah, gaudy is the best way to describe the exterior and the dictator reference is spot on :D However, it's an amazing car, which in my opinion is better than the current S-Class, and that's not something you can usually say about a 7 Series.
i actually like the design but i am also quite open to new designs in general. definitel agree that it is better than the s class and other 7 serieslke i7 or 760i. also the vid was gr8 loved it
I'd stick to stock and get a carbon fiber intake plenum like the car in the video. The factory exhaust is already fairly loud, but if you make the induction noise louder, you will get more (and better) sound in the cabin.
Bad research: The BMW Isetta was not an original creation by BMW, but a licensed reproduction of the model originally designed and produced by the Italian company Iso. The original Isetta model with its characteristic front-opening design was created in 1953 by Iso, a company that manufactured motorcycles and small cars based in Milan, Italy
I've just seen one for the first time, on the road here in South East London (May 2024) and it didn't look out of place either, (I just clocked "Microlino" across its front and Googled it as soon as I got home), I live in London and own a Mini Cooper Electric, so fully appreciate the advantages of small so called "city ??? EVs", obviously, this vehicle is aimed at a "niche potential customer base", that would be, affluent, city home owners, with ONE child who have a garage or driveway, that gave up their MAHOOSIVE ICE 4 x4, for an electric one, just to be "Eco trendy????, that find it embarrassing to have, a small ICE car as a second vehicle, as ALL of their "Eco trendy??" neighboughs have got Teslas and NO second car, so they won't mind paying £15,000 for a Microlino, to use as a second car, as sticking THAT and a £85,000 4 x4 EV on their driveway, is basically an "UP YOURS GESTURE", to their neighboughs, who only have ONE vehicle on their driveway, that is a "cheap and nasty ????, Tesla", so "the Microlino will probably sell like hot cakes, in trendy affluent parts of London and other European cities too" LOL.
Yeah, it’s not priced to become a huge hit, but there are enough wealthy people who will fall in love with it and buy it as a third car to pop to the shops in. This is especially true of London, but also other major cities too. It’s apparently a hit in Swiss cities.
I've loved the Firebird Trans Am line since I was a little kid. The model Firebird you were driving was sort of a dream of mine, as it was around the time I started driving. In 2000, I finally got a Firebird and still have it today. It's a 1998 3.8 V6, and I've managed to not drive it much, keeping it in the garage in the winters. I absolutely love it. And I loved your video as well!
Thanks, great filming! I've been wanting this one for a long time, I can't afford any car right now, but it is one of my biggest desires for the first car. Cheers!
@@OneTireFire thanks, I'll try. But I'm still thinking about E39 being a really perfect car, especially a first one, plus it's much more safe than conventional "economical small first cars".
