Thank you for this, I've had issues with keeping track where to put my next bead messing up my bridge and leaving holes in my rows sometimes. This is a huge help.
This is a great question. I am not an expert at the different stitches and there is a lot of discussions about what stitch is what. I'll try to explain from I what I know about the difference. With three drop stitch, the beads are in columns of , when you add a bead it will "drop" into the 3rd spot. With peyote stitch you go through a Bead then add a Bead. There are a lot of resources on Google that can help with answering your question and some debate regarding the terminology too. Thank you for watching.
Thank you for sharing!!! You use the deer skin cover which makes the lighter thicker and requires more coverage. When making this without an additional cover the bead count won't be the same as yours. Do you recommend adding extra beads to make sure it's divided by 3?
You’re amazing, I’ve learned so much from you. You’re a wonderful teacher, you explain everything perfectly. You don’t talk down to your students, you talk to them. ❤
Thank you so much. This is the best tutorial I have found on this art form. Your calm voice and close-up of what you're doing is just the explanation I needed.
I would like to try. I have never done this, I think it would involve some removing and adding beads to each part. I do have a piece that I would like to try. Thank you for watching.
I'm trying to understand why you set 42 beads on and then take off the last 14 ,canbu please explain as I am trying to make beaded cases and undertones your teaching very well until this one part, pls let me know thank u
HI there. I take the 14 off because, when I re add them, this will create the "drop" in the stitch. It took me a long time to figure this out and get it going, but once I did figure it out, I enjoy this stitch. Thank you for watching
I'm not sure of another way. I was testing this out one day to see if I could make the line straighter. I think I was doing some Loom work and the line was to curly, thought I would try the straightener, seems to work.
You could also use a smaller 15/0 bead as you get closer to filling the center before you start reducing the beads to get a more uniform appearance ...but this looks amazing I never thought to enclose the end. Thanks for the great tutorial!
I realize that this video was done a few years ago, not sure you are still answering questions. I have a question on your pattern. You've drawn it out starting on the bottom left corner, yet when you bead, your beading clockwise,??? I know when drawing my pattern for 2 drop peyote, I started on the right corner drawing my pattern and beading clockwise. Just want to make sure I do this correctly. Thank you
Thank you for watching. For this stitch, I wanted it to look the same as on the drawing. If your notice the peak of the beads should look the same as on the paper. The graph is counter clock wise, but I start on the right for drawing because this helps me to see how the design will look. It is a starting point. I suppose you could try on the left side too. This is how I've figured out. Thanks once again
It took me a while to figure this out too. You may have missed the bridge and kept going a round. Very important to do the bridge. Also sometimes an extra Bead may have been added. Took me a few times to get it going. Thank you for watching
@@brokenarrowbeads3354 I finally figured out I need to count the beads I need for each row, and then I know where the bridge is when they're all added. Complicated.
A trick I learned growing up - any number will be divisible by 3 if the numbers in it also add up to another number that’s divisible by 3! So 54 ~ 5+4 = 9 which is 3x3! An easy trick to know you’re on the right track. Thank you for this!
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge. I didn't give up & kept trying. I pulled it out 3 times but magically it started taking shape! I've been teaching myself everything I can to reconnect and hopefully pass on to my grandchildren. Chi Miigwech your AWESOME!!!!❤😊
Lovely Video, explained clearly. It would be nice to make a video on designing patterns. I find that I color in my dots, however, it always turns out terribly. I now math is involved and I think I get that part, my issues is drawing it on the graph paper. I'm not sure how to make it cylinder when graphing on a flat piece of paper.
