Love this! I’m doing a winter KING rag quilt. So glad I watched. I admit I in the beginning I thought it was to much tutorial but sooo glad I stuck around
Just found this video. Gibbon was my hometown. Glad to see you give a shout out to a great business, I got to visit there a few years ago. The owner has done a fabulous job.
Thank you for making these videos. I am a newby to quilting,, and I love all the videos available to teach me things. I love the block you made. would love to see the finished quilt
I'm very confused about the stabilizer ur using. Can u clarify what u have in your hoop & also I don't get when u use the "sticky stabilizer". I am making that very same pattern. Thnk u for your help!
I am using a Durkee hoop, which means I can use a sticky stabilizer. A sticky stabilizer is one that is sticky on one side (the side that is up) so I can just set my Durkee hoop on top of it and it sticks to the hoop. No complicated stretching in a hoop. Then, when I have to add the other pieces for the design, they just stick to the stabilizer. I use Stich Fabri-solvy by Sulky. If you are using a regular hoop, choose a lightweight mesh stabilizer, such as this: amzn.to/3PYMspd I also used a very light weight non-woven interfacing beneath the main area of the mug rug to give it more stability for the applique. I just happened to have that in my stash. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
@@WendyJHaney Thnks so much! I’ll pull the pieces tmrw & hopefully it will now make sense. I was so happy when I discovered your video making the same piece! 😘
All companies are not as bad as Northcott. I purchased several charm packs by them during Covid and several of those had half blocks in them🤔 Also, their fabric was printed very crooked during that time. I think they have improved somewhat recently (or they claim to have corrected the problem) however, I try to avoid their brand if other fabric will suffice.
Love that you showed how to make the 12 1/2. I would rather have the bigger blocks than the smaller ones. For some reason they just work better for me. The smaller one's always end up wonky for some reason. Thank you Wendy!
You're welcome and I'll keep that in mind!! I agree with you, I prefer 8.5" and above for my blocks. the smaller the blocks the more little discrepancies show, and things get wonky!
Drop me an email asking for it, and I'll send it to you. Let me know if it's ok to add you to my mailing list as well. Thanks! Coming soon I'll be able to provide a link, but we're between systems right now.
I picked up my quilt for my granddaughter's golden birthday... Kitties. I asked them to please hid a kitty in the stitching somewhere. I found six! She's gonna love this quilt. Thank you so much.
I love this pattern, and have wanted to make this block. Unfortunately, my eyesight is going and so doing small blocks is out for me. I love doing large blocks, but I have no idea how to enlarge this. I like using layer cakes and charm packs. I think I seen a woman from England do one with scraps. Blue scraps for the water, brown scrapes for the boat, and all kinds of scraps for the sails. It was just beautiful. The 5 inch charm packs are even getting to be a challenge for me. Maybe you can do a video using the layer cake and this pattern. I would love to watch that video!!!
No. The information needed to make a single block is described in the video. It is a single block, not a full quilt. Let me know if u still have questions after watching
I could lose a fortune of cash in this store. I loved all the panels that they displayed and now I am going to have to go shop on-line for some of them. I also loved the rolling cases for your sewing machine. Great shop! Thanks for the video.
This is NOT where I work, nor is it a place I own. This is a quilt store that I have visited. One aspect of my RU-vid channel is to share and promote quilt stores across the country where I have visited. It helps you know if it's a place you'd like to visit if you're ever in the area... or a place you can find online to order from. A lot of people have really enjoyed the videos and seeing the wonder models that stores have on their walls.
I love your teaching skills and doing a project different ways. This also helps skill building with small projects. Takes the fear out if one is new to sewing and quilting
