In Jamaica, we used carrots to make juice, and to add to our soups. In America, carrots are eaten as vegetables, add to salad, and to make carrot cake. I love carrot juice with ginger; it's healthy and refreshing. Just blend the carrots with the ginger, and put through a strainer then add some brown sugar.
Hi Jail, you can preserve carrots after cleaning them and put them in a light polythene bag and tie it, you can just leave a small opening to use whenever you want to get some.
I saw someone on you tube who preserve by putting them in a plastic bin with woodchips in between. Then lay a large amount of wood chips on top and store them in a dark place.
Hi Jael, taking off the leaves of the carrot will help them decay quickly. Just cut the leaves halfway so that it can retain more juice and will not decay on time.
Always watching you from upstate New York. Ka Ruto owinjo gima iwacho no to obiro keto tax ma jokma odak maber e gweng chulo. I once lived that kind of life in the village. I hope to retire soon and relocate back to the village. Kik idol siri yawa.
😊such a beautiful life ..to walk on your garden and pluck your own food .talk of God blessing our land and the work of your hands ..such an inspiration..blessings❤❤❤
What a lovely carrot harvest! 👍 Harvesting is my best part of farming. Freezer method of preserving works well too. Wash... cut as desired... blanche for 5 mins... shock in ice water to preserve color, taste & nutrients then freeze and put in ziplock bags. Good for a year.
In America, it's called " egg foo young" by the chinese.I add bean sprouts and water chestnuts to mine or any type of shredded meat if you want.Yummy!! You can dilute a mild dish detergent ( in America, most use regular dawn for this lol) with water .And spray early mornings before the heat of the day and right before dawn. You may have to experiment with what amount of dosage is good for your crops.I use this solution for everything, but be careful using as I said in the heat of the day because plants can be burned.
Since you had to pull them before you wanted to.I heard don't clean them and cover them in soil and store in a cool place to use as you need. The rodents COULD be moles or creatures that burrows. I don't know if rats do that, lol. I heard rats will dig holes, but im not sure.❤ beautiful place
Blessings Jael🥰 Everything looks so healthy and beautiful in the village! Your carrot harvest looks great. I know it’s hard work but the finished product always makes you feel good. No matter the size of the project, when it’s done with your own hands, it’s a happy moment! Continue to press forward and be the Best You that you can be! It’s all looking good to me. I look forward to seeing the progress at your personal homestead also. Mungu akubariki 💜🙏🏾🌹🙋🏾♀️
