This is wrong. Ultimately, if the fluids being exchanged are the same temperature, then you can do the 1:1 volume replacement. If the engine is warm and the replacement fluid is room temperature, the amounts won’t be 1:1, they will be different amounts. This is because ATF expands with heat. Thus the warm ATF will drain out “more” fluid than is actually being replaced, which is a problem. I did three drain and fills over three days, each time was a cold drain and fill, meaning the engine was cold, fluids were room temperature, hence 1:1 replacements.

Yes - it also gives the engine more power, because it is more efficient without oil sludge.

@@Stimwalt I might switch to ow-20 because it improves mpg & it’s basically the same as 5w-20 and causes no different, just thinner which helps clean better

That's correct. Most folks don't realize that when they take their vehicle to a Jiffy Lube or quick stop garage, they aren't using Honda OEM either. I do recommend you use OEM if you aren't comfortable using a more robust and enhnaced ATF fluid like Triax/Amsoil.

I'm having the same issue for over the past 7 years. Passenger side rear brakes worn out so quickly. I wanted to get rid of it but don't at the same time because it's paid off, and it's just sitting atm til I figure the issue out. Rebuilt the caliper, issue still happening. Replaced with a new caliper and also replaced flex brake line still nothing but it last a little longer than before. All this was done at honda dealership. Wasted almost 5k just for that passenger rear side caliper, and the issue is still there. I'm assuming I might need to bleed the brakes because my brake pedal sink a little when on a traffic stop holding down the brake pedal. Haven't done it yet because I've been so busy with working 2 full time jobs.

You flush with your old filter so that you don't get your new filter dirty. Add the new filter with the new oil AFTER the engine flush is complete.
