The home to a bunch of Simpsons review content! This includes 60 Second Simpsons, Simpsons Mysteries, and Simpsons Showdown. I also do Pixar and various other movie reviews!
This is the first Simpsons episode I remember seeing. I'm sure I saw some others before it, but this is the first one I actually remember watching as a wee little 5 year old, around 30 years ago. As such, I'm heavily biased, but I love this episode so freaking much. I feel like it's so underrated.
Simpsons just needs to ignore years. Never mention the year, just have it be in the past by however many years, in the present, or the future by however many years. So, instead of placing Homer in high school in 2003, just 21 years ago. No year involved, no pop culture references
Is it possible Kerney Jr. is not his own son biologically, but actually his step-son whose head he has shaved to more closely resemble him? The fact that he was involved with Jimbo's mom at some point lends itself to the idea that he has a habit of becoming involved with older women. He perhaps has even become involved with single mothers who have kids, and who otherwise have serious emotional, psychological and/or substance abuse issues if they are capable of becoming involved with someone that young. This could explain why he is the "father of a teenager", since he may adopt the position of 'father' to any potential children the women he becomes involved with may have, even if they are closer in age compared to his own. Another possibility may be that, since his parents are out of the picture for various reasons, Kerney Jr. may actually be his younger brother whom he has taken to raise on his own since there are no parents around to care for him. The "divorce" he may be talking about may actually be referring to his parents divorce instead of one he himself has gone through. His "adopted son" is just his little brother (whom he has adopted as his own) who he now views as his kid. Like you said, any way you slice it. Kerney's age and situation is potentially pretty messed up.
I suddenly want Hollis Hulburt to be the ancestor of Futurama's equally-suspicious and also-mustachioed Dean Epsillon, notable for his "department of Pool Boy Studies".
For me Season 17 is actually one of my favourite seasons because growing up my mom said I wasn’t allowed to watch The Simpsons until I was 12 years old. So I always snuck watched it. Season 17 was the first season I was airing when I was finally allowed to actually watch the show and it is the first season I was able to watch every episode as the aired and in my opinion I don’t think any of the episodes in this season are bad.
TheRealJims, I just wanted to say that I love the way you talked about the controversy in this video, you really worded yourself well and talked about things in a very respectful and rational manner. You handled things in a very adult way and I respect that alot, so many people would overly dramatize or try to amp up their opinions but nothing is glamorized here except for the review being very well made. Keep up the amazing work, we all really appreciate you here
Will there be a Simpsons histories on Jacqueline Bouvier??? I'd honestly like to know how much she really appeared... She's such an unusual character, they barely use her at all
I'm up to s26 in my full series catch up, so I've finally got to experience Nedna I'm kinda sad about how brief it was, because it really was changing the neighborhood dynamic in interesting ways. And I don't think I've actually seen her interact with Homer or Lisa before this
I don't think he killed all his siblings, I think it was a last man standing, free for all kinda deal like may be the others were to busy killing each other with potatoes to even remember he existed... Then got pushed down a well
2 things. What about the big ugly head on the basement? I think the episode when everyone gets food poisoning from the krusty burgers confirms that there is a 3rd bath room somewhere in the house, is not confirmed is on the first floor so there might be a 3rd bathroom on the second floor
04:20 would Kerney be getting homer to buy them drinks and smokes so they dont have to use their own money. Just a thought. I dont remember the lead up as to if they gave him their own money or not.
Simpson season 15-21 are a little underated. Not great and some major flaws but a lot of fun episodes. Up, 24, revenge best served 3, etc. Season 18 isn't awful but average and 100x better than seasons 23-27. Those 5 seasons are rough.
I made up my own way of telling them apart: when you hear the name “Rod”; think about the inanimate carbon rod. The rod is tall and skinny, just like the oldest Flanders son. Therefore, the tall son is Rod and the other son is obviously Todd.
