Hey Patrick. hello from Tampa,Fl. I've been to Tirana twice and will go again for good 11/27/24. I like the country, the low cost of living and food, and able to make a base there to travel around Europe. Will apply for residence permit when there. How did you get your apartment ? Thanks.
Thank you so much ! They are a great couple. i hope to interview a few more. hopefully this weekend. Thanks again for being here. And thank you for watching !
Great people. Been following them for years. i emailed them and asked for interview and they said yes. They are very down to earth people . tonyz... Hope you are doing well.
@@patrickoverseas Doing well, Thank you Sir. The August Heat is upon us here in TX as you know it. I wish you, April and the entire family, where ever, they reside; HAPPY AUGUST and may it be a healthy and joyful one!
at 9 min mark you're across from the 24 hour conad. Just Incase you need something. The prime minister Rama is an Artist. Before becoming PM he was the mayor of Tirana. He is credited with cleaning up Tirana. There is buildings in all areas of the city with artwork. Some buildings the artwork changes and some have stayed the same for years.
Hi Patrick - Sunday Albanian Joke; A peasant couple were out shopping. The husband bought a straw hat..The wife smiled. Why you smilling? The husband asked. - Well dear, she said. It is a straw hat. You can use it and when it is old and you no longer can use it, our goat can eat it. So it is a win win. Happy Sunday friend! 😁
I’m trying to get Jesse to wear a hat like that. It would be adorable, lol. Also, thanks for this resource, I feel so much more connected and in-the-know now…I mistakenly send texts at the wrong time to the states too 😂
@@patrickoverseas yes, still in Spain untill Tuesday. Feeling well and I was able to pickup some equipment for some projects when I get back. The company would not deliver to Albainia 😑 but it was a good excuse to travel.
Early bird 😊 At this time the line at Starbucks would have a line in the drive through. Traffic jams would be stressful. School busses going around picking up the kiddos. At 6:30AM in the US is…GO GO GO..In Albania…Depends. Slower pace!
Hi Patrick:) Teachers from New York in Tirana for a couple of days to check it out. Been watching your (and other RU-vidrs) videos. Would love to meet and chat a bit. Found supermarkets a bit pricier Than I anticipated. Fresh veg and fruit are great and reasonably priced.
The dude with the shovel you sure it was not Jason? 🤣 Looks like an Atomic Bunker. BOOM 😄 I never been down there but sure is HUGE! I like the Faleminderit and Mire u Pafshim. CUDOS my friend for learning more and more. Keep it up!
If you walk up the road at the start of this video you will one out on Rr Dibres (Diber street) by a large Spar. If you continue up past the large apartment block Halili and turn right and ask for Vila Floso, restaurant. Good food very affordable and great people. Downstairs is the normal but they have a function room and a penthouse restaurant on top. I love it their but it us a bit Albanian. The young boss is good with English, grandad is just lovely and Dad is an accomplished chef.. There are better phone shops further up and it is not touristy.
Thank you so much for the info ! If ever you would like to chat. You can reach me at...roadway12345@yahoo.com...would love to know if your here or used to be here? please drop me a email
I have been using the atms in Albania for the past 7 months with no percentage fee using wise and bank cards. All of a sudden, the same atm now charging percentage fee PLUS atm fee and I am also paying the transfer fee of course, it has been horrible for someone tight on cash. I believe it is because of tourism because they tried to charge me 10 euros more at vodafone this month for the same subscription I have had all year. I had to explain to them I wasnt a tourist but I live here. They finally lowered it to my normal bill price. I am hoping the percentage fees will shut off in the fall? Also, stopped using wise. They use to charge 1.5% per transfer. They just increased to 2.5% each time for me. Did this happen to you as well? I am trying to get a schwab card asap.
I am confused, too. Not because of the %age, but what account u prefer to use. Do u prefer Charles Schwab or Wise for exchanging funds? And how do the two compare? Thanks!
i love wise. Cheap for transfer funds. No percentage charge when using card. But you cant transfer money using wise here yet. But you can use the card with no % charge here, just a straight fee of say 6 to 8 bucks depending on the ATM machine .I heard theres a way using a third party app. But i dont know of it. I prefer Schwab all the way. I hear fidelity is also great here with no charges. So for what i have been using. Wise card for atm, and schwab do NOT charge a % fee
