I had to go to a hospital here. I chose a private hospital called American hospital # 1. Was good experience I've had skin cancer in the pass had to get my nose checked.
Just had back surgery (blew a disc) at the German Hospital in Tiranë. MRI, visit with Neurosurgeon, three days in the hospital, anesthesiologist, medications, and a couple of follow-up visits. 3600USD and all done within two weeks of my first visit. I am good to go now and resume traveling. In the US, this would have taken months and cost would have been an order of magnitude higher. However, people need to realize that the average income here is 800USD per month. Albainian's are in the same economic situation Americans are on but on a lower scale. The biggest difference is, had I been a resident, the cost would be nothing. They take care of their people and foreign residents without demonizing foreigners.
@@patrickoverseas Thank you, feel much better. We leave for Spain next week and will be there for all of July. Last year, they were pretty hyped up for the games but I think Columbia has everyone beat for game enthusiasm; those guys party like tomorrow wasn't coming.
Thanks. What i was worried about when i had it on my arm they do what's called a scrap and burn. So they just keep digging out flesh till they get it all. Doesn't hurt , just looks awful. And i didn't want it done to my face. A friend of mine had to. Felt so bad for him.
Glad it’s not cancer! I looked up the costs of the doctors that we will need in Albania. I’m so grateful that I will be able to afford it so much easier than in the US.
Great info and good to see it was easy. The "American" in the name of the Hospital is just a name and not actually a Hospital from America, but it's common marketing over there.
Keratosis is caused by dry skin. Use lotion or sunscreen. I am glad it is not what you were afraid of(do not want to say the name) Stay well and Enjoy the game tonight. GOD BLESS!
Thanks tonyz . It is acting just like when i had it. Peeled skin that doesnt heal.Had it since i got here in April. I go back in 2 months. But glad i experienced going to the doctor here. He grilled me on sun block and wear a hat when out.
