Why did you get rid of your pro pride
@HomeOnTheHitch
@HomeOnTheHitch 9 дней назад
I have the pro pride hitch still. Just in case. When we upgraded to the long bed dually there isn’t much need. The weight of the truck and the 4 tires on the ground in the rear pretty much handles any sway issues. If and when we move back to a SRW truck , which I would like to do , I’ll put the pro pride back on immediately. It’s the best option out there still

Never ever pull that while the 7 way is hooked to the tow vehicle if the tow vehicle has a factory controller. It will fry the controller.

Hey there! New sub here! Just found your channel as we are fellow creators that will be at a booth at the Hershey Show too! Will you guys be at the RV Life or Content Creator Meetup? It would be great to meet up at one of those if we don't see each other at our booths! I need to go back and binge watch your videos as we are considering moving into our RV FT but we will be stationery for awhile before we can hit the road FT. Not sure how we will feel about that though.

I really enjoyed this video, as it brought back many memories from the time I worked in the Texas Prison System. I love to see this type of destination, and I hope you do more. The “minimum security" building you point out in the beginning sounds like the trusty camp. Most Texas Prisons have something similar. You rightly point out the darker history of prisons worldwide, but conditions have changed in modern times, yet many things remain the same. The dining areas were not the most dangerous in my units; they were the exercise yards. We limited the number of convicts inside the mess hall, and if fights did break out, most convicts got out of the way. When a fight broke out, we closed the doors and sealed them in. If the fight turned into a riot, we saturated the dining area with CS teargas. Once the dining room looked like a back street in foggy London, we’d don riot gear and have an attitude adjustment session. Firearms weren’t part of our control, as the only time we used deadly force was during an escape. Even with a unit-wide riot, where the majority of the population was having their way, we did not resort to firearms. However, let any convict try to scale the fence or escape in the field, and all bets were off. The longest I ever saw convicts stay in solitary was 30 days, and the sentence was most often one to two weeks. What you didn’t see during your tour of the “hole” was the presence of toilets. Convicts were given a bucket. If you decided to retaliate by throwing your bucket on someone else, well, let's just say you normally didn’t do that but one time. Now, a bit of nostalgia that brings joy to my heart. Our units were double-fenced, and we raised herds of deer within the inner fence. We had the deer before we had sensors and other electronic devices that alerted us to unwanted personnel in the yard. I worked the towers many times, and you learned the habits of the herd in front of you. When they spooked, especially at night, you knew to be more watchful. Larry from Texas

Larry !! So glad to hear from you and thank you for this comment and information! It sounds like you had quite the experience working as a guard. I tried to imagine being in there with it fully loaded with people. Seemed unreal to me. Looking at the small cells and conditions just really makes it real in some weird way. So glad to hear from you. Stay tuned we have more coming after the Hershey show!

@@HomeOnTheHitch Yes ... some sad, some terrifying, and some hilarious. For example, when I was doing a security check inside a pitch-dark pipe chase, I bumped into a mop hanging on an overhead pipe before my eyes could adjust. When I reached and grabbed it in the dark, the mop head felt like a head of hair. Before common sense set in, I hit it with a Karate chop, put a Judo hold on it, and did my best impression of a little girl screaming. In my defense, the unit once had an escape attempt when a convict cut out the back of his cell and climbed into the pipe chase (ala Alcatraz style).

It happened to me. Within an hour and a half from the house I had 3 tires go flat because of the valve stems leaking. Not all at the same time. The stems were rubber at the rim with a chrome shaft. They were leaking at were the rubber and metal met/glued together. The travel trailer is 2 years old.

My renogy POS 40 amp DC DC charger. Does not output anything over 13 volts no matter what I set the dip switches to. In fact there is zero change whatsoever to any of the voltage parameters no matter what the dip switches are set to.
@HomeOnTheHitch
@HomeOnTheHitch Месяц назад
@@CaptRageALot I’d check the output with a good meter. One that reads into the tenths and thousandths. IE 13.8 volts instead of just saying 13. A lot of meters and monitors will read 13 volts all the way up to 13.9 volts. And the amperage is the main thing that would change with the dip switches along with the charging profile. The most it’s going to put out is 14.7 I think and that would be on a low battery. If none of that works then I’d say it’s a bad unit for sure.

This is a really neat system, but way over priced, just like all the systems at an RV dealer that you can purchase online for cheaper. I will just continue my old school ways of proper inflation, inspection and random tire checks just the way I did them when I was a truck driver, I hardly had a blow out because of that method.
@am2brok

Years ago, I had a flat tire & never knew it until I saw smoke in the rear view mirror...never would have thought you could feel a flat! Now we have a newer SUV/1st vehicle with OEM TPMS system. Again, didn't notice a dif in ride; but could see that 1 tire was 11lb below pressure. Pumped it up ever few days & was able to get it into the shop. We had picked up a nail somewhere along the way. We also have an older camper van & will be putting an after market TPMS system w/ metal stems...I'd rather know of a small leak vs a blowout damaging the RV.

Does it handle your house AC ok? How many tons?
@ben31tube
@ben31tube 2 месяца назад
@@brianluttman7034 2.5 tons. I measured the startup and it was 26.5-27.5 Amps with the soft start. I don't leave on all the heavy usage items. For instance, I won't use it to run my heater, in the winter as that is 60 Amps. I can run the water pump, when needed, etc.

I've had a Hensley Arrow for about 10 years and now have a much larger trailer that came with a ProPride. I consistently encounter difficulty hitching up. It seems to be related to the pitch of the stinger where it enters the receiver on the trailer and pushes the hitch sideways time after time. It's such a pain that I frequently wonder why I own it. However once it's hitched and set up it tows beautifully.
